## What is BellSense?

BellSense is a kettlebell coach. The app gives you the program, you log the work, and the next session adapts to what you actually did.

Make every rep matter.

How the coaching works, with just your phone
Pick a program. Each session tells you exactly what to do. You log your sets and rate how each one felt, and BellSense reads everything you give it: reps, effort ratings, volume, heart rate if you wear a monitor, and sleep, HRV, and resting heart rate through Apple Health, combined into a daily readiness score. Then it makes the call a coach would make: add, hold, or back off. Progression is decided by your results and your recovery, not by a calendar.

A logbook stores what you did. This decides what you do next.

You can also just ask the coach what to train. It reads your recent sessions and how recovered you are, recommends one session, and tells you why. You can see the other options it weighed, or ignore it and train what you want.

All of that is free and stays free. No sensor required.

Training programs
Structured programs that run from weeks to months, from beginner kettlebell foundations to advanced power and density work. Each comes with detailed warm-ups, cool-downs, and accessory work. All twenty-five are free.

Supported exercises
Kettlebell ballistic: swing, snatch, clean
Kettlebell grind: goblet squat, one-arm row, overhead press
Kettlebell stability: Turkish get-up, windmill
Barbell: back squat, bench press, deadlift, press, row

Barbell lifts are logged, scored, and tracked alongside the kettlebell work. The structured programs are kettlebell.

Workout modes
• Individual: one exercise, tracked round by round
• Alternating: two or three exercises paired and rotated each round
• Complex: several exercises chained back to back, tracked as one session

After every session
• The coach's read on how the session went, tied to your own data
• The progression call for next time: add, hold, or back off
• Volume and trend charts that build week over week

The bell sensor
BellSense started as a small sensor that mounts on the kettlebell and streams motion data to your iPhone. It is in development and not for sale yet, and the app does not need it. When it ships, the same coach runs on measured reps instead of logged ones: verified rep counting, speed retention across a set, reps in reserve, and live cues while you work. It learns a personal movement baseline for each lift and reports speed and power as relative indices rather than lab-grade numbers.

BellSense+
An optional subscription. Your coach reads each session and tells you what the numbers mean, with weekly and monthly reviews and a read of your last 30 sessions whenever you ask. It rebuilds today's session when your readiness calls for it, working from 30 sessions of history instead of 10. It sets a weekly conditioning target from the training load you actually carried, and it analyses as many lifting videos as you care to send it. The programs, the progression, and cardio are free and stay free.

• BellSense+ Monthly — $9.99 per month
• BellSense+ Annual — $79.99 per year

Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically at the same price unless it is canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period. Manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings. Prices are in US dollars and may vary by region.

Keeps you motivated to continue, lots of options for beginner to experienced. You can take the sensor anywhere, not tied to a shingle workout location.

### 5/5 — Something New

*2026-08-07*

Finally an app that actually explains what your workouts mean. Not just numbers like “you did X reps” but actual analysis of what you’re doing. The AI coach feedback is actually useful.

The weekly reviews are really helpful too. Catches stuff you miss just looking at the numbers day to day.

Worth the download if you want more than just a workout timer

Been doing ABF and it’s good to have something tell me when to advance versus just guessing. Definitely want this KB sensor too

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.14 — 2026-08-25

Every program is now free.

All twenty-five programs, start to finish, plus cardio mode with heart-rate zones. No subscription, no unlock. The programs were never the part worth charging for — the coach reading your training is.

The Set Analyzer counts three more lifts. Film a set of swings, cleans or snatches and it counts the reps, alongside the goblet squats, presses and rows it already read.

Also in this build:
• Conditioning work no longer out-earns bell work in your BellScore.
• Picking a clip no longer closes the Set Analyzer.
• A logged workout with an untracked exercise is no longer filed as a 16 kg swing.
• Buying BellSense+ mid-analysis now keeps the clip you were working on.

### 2.13 — 2026-08-21

### 2.12 — 2026-08-18

Watch your set back with the coach's eyes.

The Set Analyzer now replays your footage with your skeleton drawn on it, rep by rep, and tints the reps where your range faded — you can see the set wear you down. Export the clip to share it. BellSense+ adds Form Retention: one number for how well you held depth and tempo as the set wore on, stamped clean on your export.

### 2.11 — 2026-08-17

Film a set. Get it counted.

The Set Analyzer is here. Pick a video of your goblet squats, presses, or one-arm rows — any phone footage, no sensor — and BellSense counts the reps and gives you the coach's read on the work. Keep it if you want: an explicit save puts the reps and volume in your history, marked self-filmed, and a share card sums up the set. Five analyses are free; BellSense+ makes them unlimited.

Your last week, on Home

A Recent Workouts section shows your last seven sessions, one tap from any of their results.

Also in this update
• Sessions that mix bell weights now score each weight against its own baseline — a heavier block no longer reads as a slower you
• Program days that repeat one lift across blocks no longer advance progression twice
• A morning cardio session no longer counts as today's workout on Home

### 2.10 — 2026-08-12

Build your own session
You can now build a workout the way you'd write it on paper — pick the lifts, set the structure, name it, and save it. Saved sessions run like any other: the guided timer walks you through, and with the sensor on the bell you get verified reps and in-set speed loss, block by block. Your custom names follow the session all the way through to results and history.
Any lift, on any tile
Interval, builder, and free training now take exercises BellSense doesn't track. Log them alongside the ones it does, in the same session, and they land in your volume and history like everything else.
Your bells, chosen where you train
A bell picker on Home and on both setup screens — coach sessions and program prep — so you set the weight where you're already standing instead of digging through settings.
The screen stays awake
Long rests between program blocks no longer put your phone to sleep mid-session.
Also in this update
• The coach now reads the rep count you confirmed, not the one the detector guessed
• One clear banner when the sensor drops, and it tells you when a scan times out
• Workout type survives a restore onto a second device
• Volume, streaks, and records agree across Home, Progress, and results
• Faster program setup and a quicker Progress tab
