## What is BellSense?

BellSense is your coach. Tell it your goal and the days you can train, and it calls every session — what to do, how heavy, how hard. Each one moves on what you actually did.

Make every rep matter.

How the coaching works
Pick a program, or just ask what to train today. Each session tells you what to do. You log your sets and rate how they felt, and the coach reads all of it — reps, effort, volume, heart rate if you wear a monitor, and your sleep, HRV and resting heart rate from Apple Health, combined into a daily readiness score.

Then it makes the call a coach makes: add weight, hold, or back off. Decided by your results and your recovery, not by a calendar — and it tells you why it chose what it chose.

The programs
Beginner foundations through advanced work: strength, hypertrophy, power, density, conditioning, and skill. Four weeks to several months, two to five days a week. Kettlebell on its own, or paired with a barbell or bodyweight. Filter by your level, your days, and what you are training for. Finish one and the coach runs your first session again as a retest, so you see what changed in your own numbers.

Every program is free.

Four ways to track a set
• Prop your phone up and the camera counts your reps as you go — squats, presses, rows, swings, snatches
• Log it by hand in a few taps
• Film a set and get it read back rep by rep
• Cardio — run, row, bike, ski, swim, sled, or anything else — logged, or read live in heart rate zones

Complexes
Chain lifts into one set — clean to press to squat, without setting the bell down. Timed rounds, and you log each movement after.

What it learns
Every session ends with the call for next time: add weight, hold, or back off. Progress builds week over week: volume, trends, readiness, conditioning load, and whether your lifts are moving. All of it free. The coach's written read of a session is the BellSense+ layer, with a free taste first.

Train with people
Make a group, share your sessions, and compare on a leaderboard. Free, and entirely optional.

The bell sensor
BellSense started as a small sensor that mounts on the kettlebell. It is in development and not for sale yet. The app never requires one.

BellSense+
An optional subscription. Your coach reads each session and tells you what the numbers mean, with weekly and monthly reviews and an on-demand read of your last 30 sessions. It rebuilds today's session when your readiness calls for it, from 30 sessions of history instead of 10. Tell it you slept badly, something hurts, or you only have twenty minutes, and it adapts the day around that. It sets a weekly conditioning target from the training load you actually carried, and it analyses unlimited lifting videos, scoring how your form held across the set. Programs, progression, and cardio stay free.

• BellSense+ Monthly — $9.99 per month
• BellSense+ Annual — $79.99 per year

BellSense+ Live
The top tier. The coach watches your sets through the camera and speaks while it happens. Ask it anything in chat — answers come from your own sessions — and every day opens with a written brief: what today should be, and why.

• BellSense+ Live Monthly — $29.99 per month
• BellSense+ Live Annual — $239.99 per year

Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically at the same price unless it is canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period. Manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings. Prices are in US dollars and may vary by region.

Keeps you motivated to continue, lots of options for beginner to experienced. You can take the sensor anywhere, not tied to a shingle workout location.

### 5/5 — Something New

*2026-08-07*

Finally an app that actually explains what your workouts mean. Not just numbers like “you did X reps” but actual analysis of what you’re doing. The AI coach feedback is actually useful.

The weekly reviews are really helpful too. Catches stuff you miss just looking at the numbers day to day.

Worth the download if you want more than just a workout timer

This is actually a really cool app. I like that it tracks my workouts and recovery and tells me how to progress. I connected my Apple health data and heart rate monitor to track my routines and it’s learning me and making recommendations. Been doing ABF and it’s good to have something tell me when to advance versus just guessing. Definitely want this KB sensor too

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.24 — 2026-09-21

Home is the front door now. The app opens on the coach's line and one button — what to do next, with today's readiness on the card — instead of a menu.

Sound, fixed properly. The app no longer stops your music; the coach ducks it and it comes back up when he stops. Spoken cues finish their sentences instead of cutting each other off, and the countdown runs on the audio clock so three-two-one lands on the beat. Silent now means silent.

Conditioning blocks keep time in the background. Leave the app mid-block and the timer reads the wall clock when you return, instead of resuming where it froze. You can also leave a block without finishing it.

A timed conditioning block inside a program now runs on the Cardio screen — the arc with the block and round, your strap named beside the reading, and how much of it you held in the zone. Untimed blocks keep the countdown they had.

Heart-rate zones are coached only where the program author set one, so a thirty-second interval no longer tells you to settle into Zone 2.

The camera follows your working arm. Switch arms between rounds on a one-arm press or row and the count comes with you. It also rides along on cleans when the sensor is conducting.

A cardio session survives the app closing. Reopen and carry on, with the stretch you were away banked as a pause.

Apple Health workouts logged as "Other" now import instead of vanishing.

The bells question in setup reads in kilograms, with the pound sticker beside each size, and the ladder now reaches 92 kg. Pound-cast bells are one tap away.

Also fixed: the trend card no longer calls one session faster and slower at once, the details behind your score are reachable again, an alternating block that ends on a grind keeps its result, and barbell sessions accept barbell weights.

One housekeeping note: you will be asked to accept the training safety terms once more. The wording that covers AI coaching changed, so everyone re-accepts once.

### 2.23 — 2026-09-11

Fixes

Fast swing sets are counted. The camera's live swing lane was using rep minimums measured on slower swings, so a quick set could read a fraction of its real count. The swing lane now has its own minimums.

A finished program's progress screen agrees with itself. On a completed program the Sessions tile read 0 under a full ring, and the day counter and the velocity number went to zero the same way.

Discarding a program session now removes it everywhere. The session's result could survive in the cloud after you discarded it and come back on a later sync.

Tell the coach what you're after, and it finds your program.

The intake now ends with a choice. The coach reads back what it heard, your goal, your days a week and how long you have trained, and asks: discover your program, or just train today. Discover shows the coach's pick first and the rest of your level's row beside it, a Beginner or Intermediate switch, and a fit note on any program built for a different week than yours. Pick one and the coach states the promise in that program's own numbers. Just train today hands you one session at a time instead.

The coach says the pattern. You pick the lift.

The daily pick now leads with the pattern, a hinge day, a squat and push day, heavy and fast, and names its own pick under it. If your gym or your body wants a different lift, choose Your own hinge, type the variation or tap one from the list, and the session logs as yours. The coach remembers the last variation you used for each pattern and counts it as that pattern in what it prescribes next.

Your program tells you what's next, every day.

After every program day: which day you just finished, what's next and about how long, and how many are left this week. The program screen restates the promise, week by week toward what you said you wanted, and a card shows what has moved since week one: rounds, reps and the bell, lift by lift. The velocity tile only appears when something measured velocity.

First session first.

Until your first completed session, Home is one thing: your session, what you need for it, and Start. The coach can check in if you let it: one nudge the morning after if you haven't started, and nothing more.

Friends on the main screen.

The Friends row moved from the bottom of Progress to Home, under the Train card, with the invite loop for anyone not yet in a group.

The 100 on the camera.

The 100-swing test can be attempted with the camera counting and no bell, ranked on its own rung. The other tests still need the bell; the line under them joins the sensor waitlist.

One results flow for everything.

Cardio, untracked sessions, alternating and complex sessions and program days all end on the same flow now: confirm the count, the score, the receipt. A complex can be corrected per component. History reopens the receipt.

Also in this build:
• On BellSense+ Live, Chat with your coach is a banner on the coach's card on Progress, not a row behind the inbox.
• The coach's spoken intake ends by handing you to the program choice instead of naming a program.
• Show me everything on the picker opens the shelf as a shortlist that already knows what you said.

### 2.19 — 2026-09-05

The count comes first.

Finishing a workout now asks for your rep count before the score, the records and your baselines are worked out, so a correction reaches everything. Records that an over-count had earned and a correction could not take back are removed once, the first time this build opens.

Also in this build: • Alternating sessions run on the camera: two or three movements, one phone position for all of them. • A coach-recommended session can now run on the camera, not only with a sensor or by hand. • Browse workouts opens all forty coach-written workouts, with filters for length, effort and movement, and each one says whether it fits today. • The daily recommendation draws on forty coach-written sessions, up from fourteen. • In the live mirror, the round label no longer sits under the rep count.
