## What is Beluga?

Beluga is a clean, focused breath-hold timer for freedivers and spearfishers, built to run your apnea training without getting in the way.

YOURS, AND ONLY YOURS
- 100% offline: no account, no login, no network, ever
- No ads, no tracking, no analytics, no data collection of any kind
- Everything stays on your device
- Export and import your records, custom tables and settings whenever you want, and you choose where they go

TRAINING MODES
- CO2 tables: build tolerance to carbon dioxide with shrinking rest intervals
- O2 tables: extend your breath-hold with growing hold times
- Static apnea: open-ended holds tracked against your personal best
- Lung stretching: full-lung and empty-lung routines to build flexibility and lung compliance
- Custom tables: build your own rounds, rest and hold, exactly how you train

VOICE GUIDANCE
Calm spoken cues walk you through every phase: phase changes, mid-phase checkpoints, and a final countdown, so you can keep your eyes closed and stay relaxed. All speech is generated on your device.

BUILT FOR REAL SESSIONS
- A background-safe timer keeps accurate time even when your screen is off, backed by local notifications
- Log contractions as they happen
- Review every session in a calendar history
- Track your progress with clean stats: personal best, weekly frequency, completion rate

Beluga is completely free.

Train safe. Never freedive alone, and never practice breath-holds in or near water without qualified supervision.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.3 — 2026-09-04

Much faster time entry
• Set breathe-up and hold times with minute and second buttons. Making 4:30 went from 48 taps to 4
• Every time field in Settings now works the same way

Korean localization
• Fixed English text that was still showing on several screens in Korean

Harder to lose by accident
• Deleting a session or table now asks for confirmation
• Sessions save the moment you finish — leaving the summary no longer discards them
• Sessions where you never held your breath are not recorded
• The timer pauses while the stop confirmation is open

Static
• Ends automatically at 10 minutes, so a forgotten session won't drain the battery
• A single button during the hold, so there is less to choose from with your eyes closed

Also
• Cleaned up the pause and stop button layout on the session screen
• The summary can be swiped down to dismiss

### 1.2 — 2026-08-18

• Export and import now include your settings and personal best.
• New tables start with four rounds — CO2 by default, and a single round for Static.
• Beluga now tells you when background phase alerts are switched off.

### 1.1 — 2026-08-06

• Tap the splash screen to jump straight in.
• Exporting your training data now confirms when the file is saved.
• Fixed Settings and table editor labels that stayed untranslated on Korean devices.

### 1.0 — 2026-08-04
