## What is Bemellou?

Bemellou is psychologist-led support for the days that feel too heavy and the days that just feel off. Sessions, daily check-ins, exercises, and courses built by our psychologists and founding team: for the Sunday night dread, the after-the-fight spiral, the morning you can't get out of bed, the 2 am you can't get out of your head.

Most people don't open a mental health app when things are fine. They open it at midnight, mid-panic, and close it thirty seconds later because it asks too much before it gives anything back. Bemellou is built backwards from that moment. Open it. Something responds. That's the whole first step.

WHAT A SESSION ACTUALLY IS

A session is 30 to 45 minutes. You talk or type about what's going on. It's psychologist-led, built and guided by our psychologists, not a chatbot pretending to be one, not a forum of strangers guessing. You don't need a crisis to justify showing up. Most people who use Bemellou aren't in one. They're tired, or stretched thin, or avoiding something they know they're avoiding. That's the point. You don't have to earn support by being bad enough first.

THE DAILY CHECK-IN

Every day, one honest activity: how you actually are, not how you're supposed to be. It takes under five minutes. It's not a mood tracker for its own sake. It's how our team knows which course or exercise might actually be useful to you this week, instead of guessing.

THE PROGRAMS

Short, plain-language lessons and activities on the things that actually come up and how you are feeling now: falling asleep when your brain won't stop, getting through conflict without shutting down, noticing burnout before it flattens you, sitting with anxiety instead of white-knuckling through it. No jargon. No 45-minute modules. Built by psychologists, written like a person is talking to you, because one is. Something that meets you where you are.

IF YOU'VE TRIED APPS BEFORE

Most mental health apps are built to keep you scrolling. Bemellou is built to get you out the other side of a hard hour. There's no shaming, no guilt, and no infinite feed. If a session helps and you close the app in 30 minutes, that's the product working, not you underusing it.

NO TIME? Sessions run in less than an hour, and activities run in minutes. The check-in takes less time than reading this sentence twice. This was built for people who don't have a spare afternoon, not people with unlimited time to spend on themselves.

THE COMMUNITY
A space to read and be around people who are also just trying to get through it as well. Not a place built just for crisis, not a place for diagnosis-swapping, not a substitute for support. It's for the "me too" moments, moderated, quiet, and never a replacement for a session when you need one.

One honest thing: the people who built Bemellou spent years avoiding exactly this kind of support themselves. Too busy, too fine, too much of a hassle to start. This app is the version of support we wish we'd let ourselves reach for sooner, made to be a softer front door than a waiting room, and a real one behind it.

There's also The Mellous, plush companions some people like to have nearby while they check in. Not required for now since the app is free for the first 5000 users.

BEMELLOU IS NOT A CRISIS SERVICE. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, please contact a local emergency number or a crisis line in your country right away. Bemellou does not provide treatment, diagnosis, or emergency care; it offers psychologist-led sessions, programs, exercises, and support for the everyday weight that doesn't always need a hospital, but shouldn't be carried alone either.

Questions, feedback, or something that didn't work right: support@bemellou.com. A person reads every message.

Start before the crisis does. We'll see you inside.

### 5/5 — Amazing mental health app

*2026-08-19*

A little corner of calm in your pocket
I’ve tried several mental health apps, but Bemellou stands out because it doesn't feel clinical or overwhelming. It’s simple, thoughtful, and actually easy to stick with. Taking just a few minutes each day to do the check-ins has become a wonderful part of my daily routine. The interface is gorgeous, the writing feels genuinely human, and it creates such a safe space to slow down and breathe. Highly recommend!

**Developer response:** "The writing feels genuinely human" is the compliment I'll be thinking about longest: every line in there was argued over. And a few minutes a day becoming part of your routine is exactly the size we were aiming for, no more than that. Thank you for writing all this out.

### 5/5 — Incredible!!

*2026-08-18*

Such a thoughtful and refreshing approach to mental wellness. Bemellou makes checking in with yourself feel simple, comforting and actually enjoyable. I love how approachable the app feels and how different tools encourage you to slow down and be more intentional about mental well-being.

**Developer response:** "Actually enjoyable" is a word that almost never gets used about this category, and it's the one we were quietly hoping for. Thank you.

### 5/5 — So comforting

*2026-08-18*

I love how comforting this app feels. It’s so easy and accessible to use, and it doesn’t feel overwhelming or complicated at all. What stood out to me the most is the sense of comfort it gives you, especially in moments when you might otherwise feel a little alone. It almost feels like having something there with you, which I think is such a unique part of the app. It’s simple to open and use whenever you need it, and I love that it can create such a strong feeling of connection without requiring much effort. Definitely an app I can see myself coming back to whenever I need a little comfort.

**Developer response:** "Something there with you" is a better description of what we were building than anything we managed to write ourselves. Making that feel like a connection without asking much effort of you was the hardest part to get right. Thank you for putting it into words. We promise to continue working toward getting better.

### 5/5 — Exactly what I didn’t know I needed

*2026-08-18*

I absolutely love Bemellou. There’s something so comforting about opening the app and immediately feeling like you can just breathe for a second. In a world where everything feels so fast and overwhelming, Bemellou creates a space that encourages you to slow down and take care of yourself. The experience is beautiful, calming, and incredibly thoughtful. It genuinely feels like a little reminder that your mental wellbeing deserves attention too.

**Developer response:** "Feeling like you can just breathe for a second", that's the moment the whole thing is designed around, and it's rare to hear it described so exactly. Thank you for this. We promise to keep working hard to make this even better!
 — Rodrigo

### 5/5 — A genuinely gentle and warm approach to mental wellness!

*2026-08-18*

I absolutely love this app! Unlike so many other wellness apps that feel clinical, overwhelming, or pushy with streaks and high expectations, Bemellou feels like a warm, supportive hug. It meets you right where you are with zero pressure.

**Developer response:** You spotted the thing we argued about most: no pressure, no expectations. Zero pressure" is the whole design. We want this to feel like a place that's optional, but hopefully helpful!

— Rodrigo

### 5/5 — Amazing app for journaling

*2026-08-18*

This app honestly exceeded my expectations, it’s super cool how I can use it as a log for my emotions and it has that game vibe to it with all the islands and levels. Also super friendly to understand how to use

**Developer response:** The islands started as a way to make a week feel walkable rather than like a to-do list, so "game vibe" is a good sign; that's the feeling without the pressure. Glad it works as an emotion log too. We will make sure to keep improving, though, as of course, we are still early in the process.

— Rodrigo

### 5/5 — Great resource; nothing like it in the market

*2026-08-18*

This app is wonderful. It has so many resources to calm down and step out of a busy day to day. Everyday, there’s an “island” where you can do activities to feel less overwhelmed. Lovely and will definitely be using consistently.

**Developer response:** "Step out of a busy day" is a good way to describe what the islands are for: small enough to fit into one, rather than asking you to make room. Thank you, and we promise to keep working toward getting better.

### 5/5 — BEST mental wellness app!

*2026-08-18*

I’ve tried pretty much every single mental wellness app. Always start excited, use it for a few days and then eventually forget about them. The problem wasn’t that they were bad apps. They just started to feel like another task that I had to check of my list.

Bemellou has felt completely different because it has met me where I am. Sometimes I want to understand why I’m felling a certain way, sometimes I need something to reset, and sometimes I have only a few minutes. The check-ins are easy, the content is actually interesting and I love that it’s backed muy psychologists without feeling clinical or too heavy.

It’s the first time I see myself coming back to a wellness app. Completely recommend it!

**Developer response:** "They started to feel like another task I had to check off my list" is the most accurate description of why wellness apps fail that I've read, and it's the thing we built against hardest. Meeting you where you are, sometimes wanting to understand something, sometimes just needing a few minutes, was the entire design. Thank you for writing this out properly. We hope to keep being helpful.

### 5/5 — My new favorite wellness app

*2026-08-18*

Bemellou is such a refreshing approach to mental wellness. The app is beautiful, calming, and so easy to use, but what I love most is how genuinely comforting it feels. It’s the kind of app you can open for a few minutes when you’re stressed, overwhelmed, or just need some time for yourself. It feels less like “another wellness app” and more like a safe little space you can come back to whenever you need it. Absolutely love it! 10/10

**Developer response:** "Less like another wellness app and more like a safe little space". That distinction is the whole reason this exists, and it's a hard one to design toward because you can't really measure it. Thank you for the 10/10. We appreciate it!

— Rodrigo

### 5/5 — a little corner of calm

*2026-08-17*

Bemellou is honestly such a beautiful app. It feels like having a little safe space in your pocket whenever you need to slow down, reset, or simply take a moment for yourself. Everything is so thoughtfully designed…from the calming aesthetic to the content and overall experience. It doesn’t feel overwhelming or clinical; it feels warm, comforting, and genuinely human. I’ve already found myself coming back to it whenever I need a little mental reset. Such a lovely app and definitely one I’d recommend to anyone looking to prioritize their mental wellbeing.

**Developer response:** This is one I'll be thinking about for a while. "Doesn't feel clinical" was the entire brief. We spent longer on that than on anything else, almost, and it's the kind of thing you can't tell whether you've got right until someone outside says it. Thank you for writing all that out. We're happy to hear the human approach we took shined through.
