## What is Bench de Soleil?

Bench de Soleil maps thousands of public benches across Denmark and shows which are in the sun and which are in the shade — right now, or at any time you choose.

It doesn't guess from the time of day. It computes real sun and shade from building footprints, tree canopy, and terrain elevation, then blends in the live cloud forecast — so a bench that's geometrically sunny but under heavy cloud shows as shaded, just like real life.

Bench data is from OpenStreetMap; buildings and terrain from GeoDanmark and the Danish elevation model; the cloud forecast from Met Norway. Sun and shade are best-effort estimates — use your own judgement.
