Talk it out. Keep the nuggets. Ben's Comedy Club is a voice recorder and writing notebook for stand-up comedians, hosted by the comedian and stand-up teacher Ben Target. Record a bit or a post-set debrief, and the app finds the few lines worth keeping, each tagged with the comedy principle that makes it work. RECORD • One screen, one button: start, mark the good moments, pause, finish • Records offline and with the screen locked, saving long sets in durable chunks • Continue a recording later: the new take is added and the notes are rebuilt over the whole set READ WHAT WORKED • A short note on what you were working on • Nuggets: the ideas worth keeping, each with a principle (misdirection, callback, act-out, specificity and more), an approximate time and the exact words it came from • Every quote is checked against the transcript, so nothing is shown as verbatim unless it is • The full transcript with your marks • A Nuggets board with every idea across all your recordings TALK THE BIT THROUGH • Chat about a recording with its transcript and nuggets in context • Write jokes as text, and ask for optional feedback on each section and how they connect YOUR HOST Meet Ben Target: Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year, Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Newcomer nominee and Scotsman Fringe First winner for LORENZO, who teaches stand-up at Angel Comedy, the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and Soho Theatre. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No account, analytics, tracking or advertising • Recordings, notes and chats stay on your device • Nothing leaves your device until you approve it, on a receipt that names the provider, the models, the data and a rough cost • AI features use your own OpenAI API key, kept in this-device-only Keychain storage; approved audio and text go straight from your device to OpenAI IMPORTANT AI features need your own OpenAI API key and may incur charges from OpenAI. Recording works without a key. Ask everyone present before recording. The app cannot record phone calls or audio from other apps. Ben's Comedy Club replaces the former Yang Todo app. Yang Todo tasks are not carried over. ## Pricing and in-app purchases Base price: Free. **One-time purchases** | Purchase | Price | Type | | --- | --- | --- | | Support Yang | $0.99 | one-time | ## Version history (last 5 releases) ### 4.1.0 — 2026-10-04 A new dark theme for late-night writing and recording.
