### 5/5 — a tool for pros that grows with you

*2025-11-07, version 3.36.0*

most notes and todo tools can’t grow with you as you progress in your field, this one has quite a learning curve, and will extend with you as you master your art of getting things done

### 5/5 — Incredible app

*2025-10-31*

I have never used such customizable and closely resembling my workflow piece of software. Works with my Dropbox, setup on macOS, Linux and iOS. This is incredibly unique piece of software.

I am doing journaling, planning and this replaces Apple Notes and Reminders for me easily with same speed.

I just dont know how to make this app live my whole life. Decades of support i wish!!

### 5/5 — The best app

*2025-09-29, version 3.35.0*

One of the best ios apps I’ve used.

### 3/5 — time zone bug?

*2025-09-04*

The reminder feature notifies me one hour before the set time. Could this be a bug caused by daylight saving time? (in Japan, we don't have daylight saving time)

### 5/5 — Great App

*2025-08-24, version 3.33.0*

Great app! Good dev team.

### 5/5 — It’s the only agenda app but…

*2025-08-12, version 3.33.0*

I really like the app, could be more modern but that doesn’t matter to me, it also has a widget which is a nice addon. Now. The syncing from the Mac to the iPad via an beorg org folder which I have symlinked to Mac is awful. I need to manually force sync on iPad to see changes… hope that will be fixed. Kudos to the developer :)

### 4/5 — Wish there was support for tables

*2025-07-22*

Would be perfect for me if there was better support for tables

### 5/5 — best GTD app for org files from your desktop Emacs

*2025-07-17, version 3.33.0*

Have been using for 3 years, and it’s free for basic usage which can basically cover what I need.

### 5/5 — Useful and some suggestion

*2025-04-23*

Dear beorg Developer,

First and foremost, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for your remarkable work on beorg, a powerful iOS application that aligns with the org-mode philosophy. Your dedication and efforts are truly appreciated by the community.

Regarding the feedback, I would like to make the following suggestions:

1. Remove the automatic addition of a schedule during the capture process in beorg. Instead, it would be more convenient if users could add time tags manually.

2. Enhance the repeater functionality by allowing for finer granularity down to the hour level. Currently, the repeater only supports larger time intervals, but the ability to set repeating tasks at an hourly level would greatly improve precision and flexibility.

3. When completing a repeating task, it would be beneficial if beorg did not automatically add the TODO keyword. This would prevent cluttering the task list with completed items and improve overall organization.

I hope these suggestions are clear and easy to understand. If you require any further clarification or have additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. Once again, thank you for your exceptional work, and I look forward to seeing beorg continue to evolve and improve.

Best regards,

### 5/5 — wonderfull!

*2025-04-20*

I love using Beorg for managing my org files with iCloud backup, but I wish it supported downloading org files from subfolders. Adding this feature would make the app even more powerful! I’d happily pay for a feature like subfolder downloads if it were part of a paid extension. Keep up the great work!

### 5/5 — Nice!

*2025-02-05*

Very good! But it need a option to get the sub folders.. I have org files with tasks inside the daily folder

### 5/5 — I love it

*2025-01-29*

It is so good to use org files in ipad . However please support thr onedrive sync thanks

### 5/5 — The GOAT

*2024-12-27*

This app does exactly what I need! Spent several hours doing a script for this uses but it wasn’t this good!

### 5/5 — Excellent app

*2024-11-17, version 3.29.0*

Beorg is well crafted, minimalistic and powerful.

I do wish it had full text ripgrep style search.

### 5/5 — One of the top 5 apps

*2024-09-27*

People use a variety of task and project management apps, but once you discover the openness and flexibility of org mode, then nothing else will do, despite a definite learning curve.

This app takes the power and flexibility of org mode and makes it easy on iPadOS and iOS. Once you “get it”, you will be a fan for life. Updates and new features are constantly added. This was my app of the year last year.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Deleted my data :(

*2024-11-19*

Update of the App DELETED my calender data; this is an absolute killer and very annoying as well; deleted the App, Goodbye!

**Developer response:** The only calendar that beorg should modify automatically is the special calendar that beorg sets up if you've opted to sync your items to a calendar. Please get in contact via support so that we can investigate what has happened. You shouldn't use the special calendar beorg creates to add your own events.

Search for "If you’ve accidentally deleted your contacts, calendars or bookmarks from iCloud" and there are instructions from Apple on how to restore your calendars.

### 1/5 — すごいいいアプリ

*2024-08-02*

なんか最近バグがよくある（次の日のにもやってないと出てくる）ので直して欲しいです。でもこのアプリはとてもいいと思っています。

### 1/5 — Not open source

*2024-01-03, version 3.25.1*

Not open source which is against the spirit of org mode. Would donate if it was open source

### 1/5 — Not much use if you're fully into orgmode

*2021-02-27*

I use emacs and orgmode. The whole point of orgmode is that all TODOs are pulled out from wherever they are. If you've been using orgmode for any length of time you're going to have nested folders. As Beorg does not support recursive folders it's a non-starter for me, which is a shame as it looks a great app.

### 1/5 — App

*2019-04-10*

Kein Support in Deutsch , man wird an Forum verwiesen , Website Hilfe englisch , wollte wissen ob ich Badge auf das App bekomme, ich bekomme nur Benachrichtigung

### 1/5 — Data loss with iCloud Drive Sync

*2019-03-11*

This app extends some features of emacs orgmode to IOS. This is good and I hope they continue to develop even more features.
Syncing with iCloud Drive however is erroneous and may lead to data loss. I discovered lag of more than 20 minutes of discovering changes in the orgfile. The refresh button is without effect. Saving an orgfile will overwrite the file in iCloud Drive. Doing this twice will lead to a loss of recent changes from computer to the same file. Please fix the sync before doing any other stuff.

**Developer response:** Hello - please get in contact via the Support Center link in the app so we can work through the problems you are experiencing. There are a number of factors to review to determine the cause of iCloud sync issues. Please note that beorg maintains versions of all files for seven days - swipe from right to left on a file and tap Versions.

### 2/5 — Heavy feature set, poor UI.

*2025-07-30*

App has a heavy feature set, but doesn’t feel thought out for what you’d really want when using your phone. Poor use of UI elements, clunky animation, and unfriendly layout. For example, to set between DONE/TODO I must tap, then watch the box animate, then select, and I can’t tap outside the box to cancel.

### 2/5 — Works, but feels clunky

*2024-06-12*

June 2024: after a long time, not using it, I came back to it. I just cannot get checkboxes to work, and I’ve looked at the beorg forum no luck.

The left and right arrows are so small on the agenda tab it’s hard to press them. It really frustrates me that the top half of the screen for a task is taken up with stuff I rarely use. Wish it was at the bottom. Using the iCloud sync works well and is the only reason I’m using this app, as I have all my stuff on the go. As I get used to the app I will adjust my review. Can’t get notifications to work. Even purchased the extension for notification sounds, but nope. The iOS notification settings are good, too.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your review. Please do get in touch by raising a ticket so I can help you with any problems, or use your feedback to make beorg better. The left/right arrows at the bottom of the agenda have quite large touch targets, so don't worry about tapping them precisely. Let's take a look at your issue with checkboxes via a ticket, and hopefully I can help - the same with notifications.

### 2/5 — Works, but feels clunky

### 2/5 — Cannot sync with dropbox

*2020-12-11*

Good to find a product like this. Sadly I failed to sync the file with dropbox.

### 5/5 — emacs org for iPhone

*2026-08-22*

everyday, I use org-mode for my task management. It is useful!

### 5/5 — Best org mode app

*2026-07-28, version 2026.7*

Across both android and iOS this is the best one by far.

### 5/5 — Unverzichtbar für Org mode

*2026-07-19*

Vielen Dank, Mathew!

### 5/5 — Worth the Money

*2026-06-27, version 3.39.3*

Great if you’re an org mode nerd. Protip: Use Dropbox to sync everything from your PC and your phone. Makes this easier.

### 5/5 — The Power of Collaborative Tools

*2026-06-04*

I’ve been playing with Emacs for 45 years, Org for 6 or 7, and Beorg for at least 5. I am still just a beginner, but I can see greatness in having a set of tools that easily collaborate with each other via plain text to organize all (and I mean all) aspects of my frazzled life in a way that my non-computer wife could understand. Beorg has been solid in the basics of this and I hope to see more come along (hint: basic photo/PDF mgmt). Thanks

### 5/5 — Vive le mode texte !

*2026-05-28*

C’est la joie de pouvoir continuer à utiliser emacs org-mode sur le smartphone.

### 5/5 — Does what it says on the box

*2026-05-17, version 3.39.2*

It’s a task manager you can set up with your org files! Not much else you need there; it’s better than the alternatives on the app store and it lets me manage my TODO lists on the go. Five stars.

### 5/5 — Solid todo app

*2026-04-26*

Floated around a few different todo apps but always found myself going back to eMacs Org Agenda. It’s really nice to have a mobile app that can read that same org file and is basically as extensible as eMacs is. If you’re happy to pay for some of the extras (which you should) you can do time tracking, syncing of calendars to org files and a few other things.

Not too sure how good it is as a standalone todo app but for an eMacs user this is a really good way of accessing some of orgmode’s productivity features on the go

### 5/5 — Great App

*2026-04-17, version 3.38.1*

I appreciate the continued updates. For me Beorg continues to be a quality app that I've regularly used for over 6 years.

### 5/5 — Great Supplement to Emacs

*2026-03-03*

Beorg does two things for me that would otherwise be difficult using Emacs alone. First, it lets me keep up with existing tasks and add new ones on mobile devices. Second, it provides a simple way to make sure that Outlook calendar events show up on my Org agenda. For these two things alone, Beorg is well worth the cost and more.
