Location services are active. Would love to understand what happened. ### 1/5 — add more payment options *2026-04-20, version 1.21.0* berkeley bowl has gift cards and accepts EBT, and i should be able to pay the groceries with those and only pay a delivery fee. that’s how whole foods does it and i only downloaded this app because EBT wasn’t working with berkeley bowl and doordash ### 3/5 — Like the idea except… *2025-03-09, version 1.15.0* I like the idea of delivery and pick up Service. However, I live two blocks away from BerkeleyBowl South and sometimes have a great deal of difficulty walking due to my disability. Seems silly to deliver my groceries from Hines Avenue when I live two blocks away From the original Berkeley Bowl. Instead of ordering with delivery I ended up walking over and shopping myself and purchasing a lot less. I would rather not support putting more pollutants into the air so that someone could drive from Hines Avenue to where I live. The good thing for me is I’ll probably do a lot less impulse buying and limit what I’m purchasing because I cannot carry a lot of groceries home on my walker. I can always order from a store from the area where I live to purchase dry goods. It was disappointing as I just moved here and really needed to stock up. ### 5/5 — Amazing! Works overall! ### 3/5 — no ebt option? *2023-10-20, version 1.11.4* i love berkeley bowl and was excited to learn about this app, but the payment option limits are incredibly disappointing. the app’s interface is good and simple but i can’t use ebt to pay so it’s basically useless for me. plus, nowhere in the FAQs stated what kind of payments were accepted so i had to build my whole order just to learn that i couldn’t pay for it. i’ll still be shopping at the bowl, but i’m frustrated that during this very busy weekend i’m basically shuttered from the option that would make my life easier. good thing i’m not physically disabled and actually can make it to the grocery store! but what about our disabled friends who rely on ebt to buy their groceries? do they *have* to shop at big box stores instead of supporting local businesses, just bc those stores have the infrastructure to accept their payment? ### 5/5 — Amazing! Shocking! ### 3/5 — Not a pleasant experience… but it works *2023-04-11, version 1.10.3.1* The good: it is possible to shop with this app and get great bb groceries delivered promptly without leaving the house. The bad: the app is an unpleasant experience. Specifically, finding products (which is really the first main user need in the app) is not well executed. The search makes no sense (why are there 2 levels of tabs?). Search results seem quite poor (I searched for “dried beans” and got almost entirely canned beans in the results). Clicking on the “categories” shows only a random smattering of the products in that category (I clicked the “coffee beans” category and got like 10 results, whereas searching for “coffee” for me far more whole bean results). And browsing products causes my (relatively new) iPhone to get super hot???? So the shopping aspect is unpleasant. But if you grit your teeth and find your items, checkout and delivery updates work well. ### 3/5 — Love the convenience but app needs better search and filter fx *2022-11-27, version 1.10.0* Love Berkeley Bowl! I’m delighted to be able to order from my favorite grocery store online for pickup or delivery. However, the app is so inefficient that if I’m short on time, I shop at Amazon/Whole Foods:(. I’d much rather keep my business with BB. The search and filter functions on the app are very inefficient. The search function pulls up a lot of random, irrelevant products that I have to scroll through to find the product I want. The filter function often doesn’t pull up the products I need, so I end up searching for them by Department, which is much slower. I hope you’ll consider making improvements.
