Had previously downloaded the info so was able to use the maps and further information off line (I hope). We walked everywhere and it was perfect for finding where we were and which direction to go to get to our next saved site. Will definitely use again on our next city break wherever it may be. Like most people we have always relied upon the paper maps from the back of travel guides to avoid roaming charges abroad. No longer....... The offline map of Berlin was fab. The little cursor showed up on the map at all times and made life so easy. The list option is truly excellent - we are not great "list" people, but it allowed us to easily retain / remember sites to visit in the days before travelling - dramatically helpful when the search for a site / restaurant / location is thrown to the map in milliseconds. It took little thought to update from the basic. I opened it and it downloaded 100Mb of content! ### 1/5 — Pretty useless *2016-01-03, version 8.3.1* The information in the free version is almost nonexistent. There were only two food related stories and one other one. The offline map could have been fine, but once I looked at on of the aforementioned info stories I couldn't get back to the map. ### 1/5 — No transport map - USELESS *2012-01-27, version 3.0.2* Without a map of the u-bahn, s-bahn etc lines (compare with London2Go, which has a Tube Map as well as the city map) this app is basically pointless. Total waste of $2. ### 2/5 — Limited usefulness *2013-05-01, version 5.3* Ulmon provided little of their own and original content. This app is basically a collection of Berlin-related Wikipedia entries and business addresses classified by business type. You can add your own notes, but there is no way to export them. There's no way to add places you plan on visiting to a trip route. There are lists, but that's different. That alone makes this app less useful. App also crashes if you're adding friends through Twitter and you've previously allowed Twitter access but withdrew that later. On a positive note, the app has a fair bit of offline content (Openstreetmap and Wikipedia), which should alleviate access once you're in Berlin. ### 2/5 — Not much more than a map *2011-09-02, version 3.0.2* I had hoped for more. Would be good if you could enter an address and see it on the map. Also since subways and trains are so plentiful - a map and the ability to enter an address and get the shortest train routes to there would be really good. Teh descriptions are from wikipedia - not really focused on tourism per se. I would pay $5 for something that had more complete feature set. I was looking forward to just being able to use the iPad more or less by itself, but there was no subway map, and the guide didn't often work. A little expensive at first but then unlimited maps and still beats buying guide for both cities. Now I can have maps and guides for wherever I want to go, in my pocket.
