Since then it will only run demo mode. Before that I would have given it 5 stars as it allowed me to adjust the settings from my Apple Watch. That is a great feature to have when at an event where the phone is put away. ### 2/5 — App unstable with iOS 13.1.2 *2019-10-09, version 1.10.0* The easy control-a app continuously connects then disconnects, then connects, then disconnects with the hearing aids. When the batteries reach 50%, they stay there for a long time. Then it drops to 40% and two seconds later to 30% then two seconds later to 20%, etc. then dead. This app is terrible with almost zero features. You can’t even adjust bass/treble. The interface looks way cool, but even basic volume is very difficult to actually adjust. It’s idiotic actually. Trying to make it look good, but offers nothing. Wow, for the premium aids I just got this is probably a deal breaker especially since it doesn’t reliably and quickly connect either. Really sad since I like the older Bernafon aids I had for sound. They really need to invest in a better app developer and catch up with the competition. ### 1/5 — Tinny sound *2018-12-18, version 1.9.1* Bought Berafon TV-A bluetooth transmitter to use with this app. Sound from tv is tinny and lacks any lower frequencies. More like a very cheap set of ear buds. Hate it. I ### 2/5 — Inconsistent *2018-09-08, version 1.9.0* When this app works, it’s great. I can change programs and volume easily. But the app will arbitrarily stop working and the only way to get it to work again is to delete it and then re-load it in the App Store. Why have an app if it’s not dependable? This is a consistent issue in the reviews - are the developers listening?? It also registers the battery as fully charged right until the moment it dies. That’s not helpful either. ### 2/5 — Meh *2018-07-01, version 1.8.0* I end up adjusting using the built in controls in settings because this app is so sporadic in actually connecting with the hearing aides. It’s often more convenient to flip through all the screens in the general controls than to toggle the Bluetooth on and off and flip the battery controls open and closed repeatedly to get the app to register the hearing sides. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Requires IOS 13 even for an old installation to run *2021-09-06, version 2.4.1* I used this app successfully for nearly three years. As far as I know, it is the only way to link these hearing aids to Bluetooth. When this new version was released, the old version would no longer work—it tries to update and if you have an old iPhone (6 or earlier) the update fails and the old reliable version won’t run even though it is still installed on you phone. Best Regards, Bernafon ### 1/5 — Inconsistent App *2021-04-14, version 2.3.1* More often then not, when I open the app to check the battery power left, or to change a listening setting or the volume, I get the instruction page, telling me how to pair my hearing AIDS; totally useless. I have to go into my phone settings through accessibility and hearing devices to make any adjustments. Kind regard, Bernafon ### 1/5 — TVA is worthless *2020-10-31, version 2.1.0* Since upgrading to the iPhone 12Pro the wireless connection is worthless. Keeps loosing connection and can’t control volume. ### 1/5 — Unusable. Period. *2020-06-04, version 2.1.0* Force closes since the new update. I’m not sure which update, IPad or app. I’m so frustrated. ### 1/5 — Horrible update *2020-05-30, version 2.1.0* The app used to function, but now won’t even open since I did the update. ### 1/5 — Useless *2020-04-05, version 2.0.3* This new version is basically worthless. The only adjustment you can make is the volume. As many others have pointed out, the app rarely connects to the hearing aids. Bernafon is apparently completely uninterested in maintaining this app as there have been zero updates, and given the large number of one star reviews I would have to conclude that the company has zero interest in the satisfaction of its customers. ### 1/5 — Damages my ears with uncontrollable VOLUME. *2020-03-23, version 2.0.3* I use my iPhone while watching TV. The app shuts off ARBITRARILY several times an hour. The TZ program volume control does NOT control. Each time I have to restart it the volume defaults to level 14... really hurts and it take waaay too long to correct it. I want it to open up to a volume which I decide on EVERY-TIME I access it. This app has too many growing pains and VERY slow to respond while the volume controls are being frantically operated to STOP THE PAIN!! ### 1/5 — Why did you remove the phonemic? *2020-02-12, version 2.0.2* Please put the Phone Mic option back on the app. I used it constantly when watching tv with others. I put the app in phone mic mode and put my phone by the tv speaker and could hear the show perfectly, without cranking my hearing aids volume or the tv volume so much that others could not watch with me. Very disappointed that the phone mic is gone. New app looks good but worthless to me now. ### 1/5 — Crappy and intrusive *2020-02-10, version 2.0.2* Asks for sign up with a separate site and requires you to allow sale of your info. No improvement in functionality. A downgrade from prior. Don’t get it. ### 1/5 — Old App Better *2020-02-09, version 2.0.2* I was able to control each ear individually on my IPhone. They took this option away. Now I have get out of the app go to Settings on my iPhone to perform this function. A real pain. The responses were timely and the instructions were easy to follow. App used to work so I could control settings. Has made aid useless, as it won’t work unless you wear 2 hearing aids. (iPhone) Went back to Costco, had to delete app, then download again. Now working. Sorry for frustrated review. No complaints. Bluetooth is even always there. Kindle books from IPhone used daily walking dog. ### 5/5 — EasyControl-a app *2018-06-25, version 1.8.0* I can't seem to use this app on my iPad, just my iPhone. It works great. There are times it seems the app is not working. I have found it necessary to go to settings and turn "bluetooth" off and back on. This seems to reset the app, for me anyway, making it unnecessary to delete and reload the app all the time. ### 4/5 — Can’t adjust volume *2018-02-01, version 1.8.0* One of my main reasons for getting Bernafon hearing aids was so I could adjust the volume on my Apple Watch. But this doesn’t work. I can adjust the program, but not the volume. ### 3/5 — Need volume control for alerts! *2020-03-12, version 2.0.3* I can’t use the battery alerts and voice prompts because they are SO LOUD they hurt my ears. The update totally changed the home page and controls. Ok so maybe they added some new options that might prove useful. But 99% of the time what I want to to is change program or volume. That used to be an easy trap or swipe. No longer.
