I use it in True north setting and I've checked it with an expensive compass and it is always spot on. In True North setting it sets it for the proper magnetic declination for the location you're in. With an iPhone swing your phone around in a figure 8 to calibrate your phone. Its display is simple and elegant. And no ads! Even with location services on it seems to be about about 10-20 degrees west of north.
