## What is BestBy?

Never lose money because something expired.

BestBy keeps food, medicine, skincare, warranties, receipts, passports, visas, insurance and contracts in one calm, private place - and then shows you what that habit is actually worth.

IT READS THE DATE FOR YOU
Point the camera at a printed expiry date. On-device text recognition finds it and fills it in. When a label is unclear - a manufacture date next to an expiry date, two competing dates - it asks instead of guessing. GS1 barcodes carrying an expiration or best-before date are read directly.

NO DATE ON THE PACK? NO PROBLEM
Loose produce, deli items and repackaged food rarely carry a date. BestBy offers realistic shelf-life estimates based on what the item is, where you store it, and whether it is already opened. Estimates are always labelled as estimates.

SORTED BY WHAT MATTERS FIRST
Your vault groups itself by urgency: already expired, today, this week, this month, later. Or regroup instantly by category, storage location or product type. Search by name, place or barcode.

REMINDERS THAT FIT THE ITEM
Choose a day, a week, a month or a custom lead time. Local notifications warn you before food is wasted, medicine expires or a document quietly becomes invalid - and you can answer "Used it" or "Threw it away" straight from the notification.

CLOSE THE LOOP, SEE THE PAYOFF
Swipe an item to record that you used it, or that it went in the bin. Insights turns that into the numbers that matter: items saved, an estimated value of food and medicine used in time, your current streak, and exactly which categories keep getting wasted so you can buy differently.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No account. No sign-in. No tracking, no analytics SDK and no advertising SDK. Your items, photos and reminders stay on your device, protected by iOS file protection. Text recognition runs on device. The only thing that ever leaves is a numeric barcode, and only when you ask for a product lookup.
