### 3/5 — Glitchy

*2026-06-05, version 2.5.8*

Changes your phone number. Corrects things that you don’t ask for. Ex didn’t receive texts for. Whole day but it was showing as read in my side

### 4/5 — Perfect for high conflict

*2026-05-02, version 2.5.8*

I’ve been using this app for a little bit and I’m so much happier and relaxed with tone guard. The app makes sure that my ex can’t be verbally abusive or manipulative, and I have even noticed it’s scared him into not starting needless conflict, knowing it’s monitored.. I can have him blocked on everything now and I’m so glad I don’t have to worry about the manipulation anymore.

### 5/5 — Perfect and then some

*2026-01-21, version 2.5.5*

This app has just what I need to:
1) communicate in a high conflict level 2 coparenting relationship. The app moderates messages I receive and delivers them to me as third-party, taking the sting out of old, dysfunctional communication patterns.
2) It offers coaching for each reply I give based upon a variety of coparenting relationship types.
3) the journal has made such a difference in how consistently I journal. I can even add pictures.

Technical support is responsive and caring.

The podcast is an outstanding as well; always a very worthwhile listen.

The mission of BestInterest is an enormous uplift to what has otherwise been an incredibly challenging, turbulent set of circumstances for me. Sol, if you’re reading this, keep up the amazing work!

### 5/5 — A MUST HAVE for Empaths that must communicate with a Narcissist!!!!

*2026-01-16, version 2.5.4*

This app has helped me immensely with communicating with someone in my life that has abused me sexually, financially and mentally for many years. Someone I have no choice but to communicate with. The all fingers their messages to keep me from becoming triggered and it also rewrites my messages to make them less-emotional and less-satisfying for the Narc. It speaks in the grey-rock method that Dr. Ramani teaches so much about. This is a life send because the manipulation and abuse was mentally overwhelming for me before I used this app. I used a discerner app that is very popular and I was constantly abused and harassed on there. G-d bless you to the people who created this! You truly are saving lives by helping people heal and lower cortisol levels which bring many ailments.

### 4/5 — Life Changer!

*2026-01-08, version 2.5*

This app really has changed my life. It was so frustrating that after separating from my husband, I was still vulnerable to his abusive text rants. I tried to not read them, but they were there in front of my face in the text chain where we needed to communicate about our kids.

Now BestInterest shields me from those rants. I can still see the original messages if I drill down into them (if I really want to), but first it tells me what he is doing and gives me advice (“This message is a passive aggressive attempt to bait you into a fight. We recommend no response.”). This advice has been amazing validation for me, and is a great real-time reminder of what therapists and self-help books tell me to do.

I love that this is the only app that you can use in “solo mode”, because it is impossible to get an abusive ex to agree to use something that will coach them to stop abusing you (although I am still hoping he will see the benefit of that one day).

I would give it 5 stars, but there are a few things that make it frustrating to use:

1) Message Notifications - These are extremely inconsistent. That leads to me having to frequently check the app for messages from him. The “number bubble” on the app showing unread messages has never worked, and new message notifications pop up on my Apple Watch/ lock screen about half the time.

2) Message Delivery - This seems to have gotten worse with the last release. There are times where I DO get a message notification, but then I have to restart the app for the new message to even show up.

3) Over Filtering - 90% of his messages are not abusive. However the app always does some form of filtering/rewriting of his messages. This often changes the meaning or details slightly, so I need to always drill down to read the original message. Fortunately his abusive messages have a pattern (10-20 messages in a row, not waiting for a response). So I know which messages are safe to drill down on. But that is an extra step, and makes it hard to keep track of conversations. It would be great if there was a “sensitivity level” that could be set on the filtering, so that it did no filtering on harmless messages. Or maybe if I consistently used the feedback function on each message, it would train the model?

These frustrations are still outweighed by the benefits of this app.

### 4/5 — Heartbroken

*2025-10-30, version 2.4*

This app does not offer a shared calendar. Despite a desperate need for this app, our judge just ordered us to go back to app close because they do not offer a shared calendar within this app.

### 5/5 — Saving my mental health

*2025-10-29, version 2.4*

I’m in a very antagonistic parallel parenting relationship. This app is saving my mental and physical health.

### 4/5 — Great tool for communication for co-parenting and parallel parenting

*2025-10-11, version 2.3*

I would love to give it 5stars however I notice after troubleshooting and ensuring all my notifications are turned on, I still have difficulty getting notification alerts on my phone which leads me to constantly check the app to ensure I do not miss any messages from the other parent which is an additional task I need to do :(

### 2/5 — Coparenting app thru Ai

*2025-09-27, version 2.3*

While I think this app is helpful for high conflict coparenting; one major issue is that when messages are moderated and new language is given, often it completely changes the context of the response. I completely understand and agree with the program wanting to eliminate emotionally charged words that could bring about conflict. However, the program will sanitize language so much that it reverses the actual context and meaning of the words. Super frustrating as there is no way around it other than choosing to not communicate the message.

### 4/5 — Gives you so much validation and resources!

*2025-09-14, version 2.3*

It’s been such a great help for me in crafting responses and the resources are so useful!

### 3/5 — Coparenting app thru Ai

*2025-08-12*

While I think this app is helpful for high conflict coparenting; one major issue is that Winn messages are moderated and new language is given, sometimes it completely changes the context of the response. I completely understand and agree with the program wanting to eliminate emotionally charged words that could bring about conflict.. However, more than a few times the meaning of my message or response was changed.

### 5/5 — stay out of the rabbit hole with BI!

*2025-07-17, version 2.2.3*

really, I cannot tell you how much your app has changed my life, no more going down the rabbit hole with my coparent’s toxicity and improved communication on my part too. I thought I was doing pretty well, but the app makes suggestions regularly that help me stay in the middle. I cannot thank you enough!!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Issues with notifications

*2026-06-25, version 3.0.1*

I have messed with these setting for the past few months. Please fix the notifications. Text messages don’t notify me with text alerts sounds. They sound merely like a “ding” update from an app. You know ding ding! Someone on facebook posted to their newsfeed etc… fix it please

### 1/5 — Father in an abusive coparenting relation

*2026-06-22, version 3.0.1*

The app tones down language so drastically it’s unable to edit messages with legitimate grievances or child related concerns. Anyone dealing with a coercive and controlling ex will likely be disappointed. Relying on the AI editor may exacerbate coparenting unfairness and negatively impact your legal proceedings by watering down your legitimate concerns in your message records.

### 1/5 — Disappointment

*2026-06-04, version 2.5.8*

I have tried reaching out several times for a few months now through email to get help with the app because the app isn’t working property every time that I upload or I try uploading a journal entry and attach pictures to it. The app completely closes. It is extremely frustrating that when they reached out, they said the app is updating the new update coming out blah blah blah 14.99/month is not cheap to be paying when you’re not even getting what you’re paying for.

### 1/5 — Absolutely terrible and no support

*2026-04-07, version 2.5.8*

Not only is the AI slow, it often times out. You can disable it but that’s their main feature they advertise, it’s not unusual for it to sit for a while “reviewing” a short reply. And of course if you say anything negative about th app it removes it. Documents shared are renamed to a jumble of numbers and you can’t preview them. There is no sound notification for messages. Trying to get email support is useless as they never answer.

### 1/5 — Didn’t like at all

*2025-04-22, version 1.8.2*

I was interested in this app hoping it would keep my ex from texting me hateful stuff. It changed the texts so much I couldn’t even understand what he was saying. Plus there is really no other features.

### 1/5 — limited, minimal capability

*2024-11-29, version 1.4.1*

The apps advice section is extremely minimal. You can only type in so many words and if it’s a question you can only ask one question because it doesn’t contain a memory and you’ll have to reword it again to ask another question related to the same topic. It doesn’t really use much of AI features and when compiling a message 90% of the time it says it’s unavailable. Do not recommend waste of money

### 1/5 — 1 Star (Would Give Zero if Possible)

*2024-08-16*

The "Best Interest" app is a complete disaster. This app only adds stress to co-parenting—avoid it at all costs!

### 2/5 — Unreliable currently

*2026-07-06, version 3.0.1*

I loved this app to start with, unfortunately, since my free trial expired and I have been paying for it monthly, it’s suddenly become very unreliable. There is a constant issue with tone guardian being unavailable and even if you want to send it anyway, it won’t allow you to send your messages. This is a serious issue needing resolution because it creates a major problem not being able to send any messages for extended periods with no identifiable way to fix it. Support is essentially non existent, too. This is an even bigger problem.

### 2/5 — Buggy, poor desktop support

*2026-05-17, version 2.5.8*

Often difficult to navigate, the MacOS app is pretty much useless, bugger, and unusable. The iOS is fine, I suppose, but difficult to read the actual messages your coparent sends you. Its summaries are often poor or outright misrepresentative of the content written. The $15/mo price is outrageous and is cashing in on parents who are already in a difficult and financially stressful situation, which doesn’t help.

### 2/5 — Coparenting code doesn’t work

*2026-02-13, version 2.5.8*

The code does not work and the coparent has not been able to join

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Clear head

*2026-07-01, version 3.0.1*

I no longer have to read all the toxic messages. This app filters out what is necessary, which helps me keep a positive mindset.

### 5/5 — A powerful resource that changed everything!

*2026-06-22, version 3.0.1*

This app changed my entire co-parenting experience in a positive way at the perfect time. We are high conflict and had bad communication cycles. My ex refused to get on an app and I needed something to change to break our cycle. I found this app and it changed everything. It stopped me from communicating emotionally and it helped me interpret his communication in a way I had never before picked up on. It gave me confidence to identify his communication as abusive and unacceptable, and helped ensure I didn’t continue to repeat or contribute to the cycle. I highly recommend trying this app - it was transformative in my co-parenting, high conflict dynamic!

### 5/5 — Wow! This app saved my peace of mind

*2026-05-28, version 2.5.8*

The coaching feature on BestInterest is such a godsend. The way they not only give you recommended edits, but actually coaches you up on how to respond, interpreting your coparent’s responses, and the why behind the recommendations. It’s not just using AI to write a response, but actually working with a coach who sees your struggles and holds you accountable. This should be recommended in every court as it actually delivers what other coparenting apps claim they can provide. BestInterest facilitates both healthier and more proactive coparenting. Kudos guys.. go take down OFW!!

### 5/5 — Absolute must have app

*2026-04-25, version 2.5.8*

I wish I’d had this app years ago! The subscription seems pricy but I think I’ve saved more than double that in therapist fees in a few months just for the peace of mind that my ex’s messages are not only edited to be non confrontational but they’re on record should I need them in court one day.
If you’re coparenting in any way other than 100% peacefully and respectfully you need this app.

### 5/5 — A powerful resource that changed everything!

*2026-03-20*

### 5/5 — Helps so much with word soup

*2026-03-06, version 2.5.8*

I love this app. I used to get pages or word soup with accusations, assumptions, hooks, and straight up verbal abuse. The app filters all that out which is amazing. And then suggests responses or better yet, sometimes recommends no response! It has cleared up so much mental space that used to be allocated to trying to navigate this communication maze with my ex. Thank you!!

### 5/5 — Grateful

*2026-02-22, version 2.5.8*

I am so grateful for this app. I have tears in my eyes as I write this. You guys who built this and the people who work for you are doing something really good for the world. Seriously. Be proud. You are protecting people from being abused. I have had this for a week and received a 153 hateful messages and I didn’t have to read one of them. Thank you.

### 5/5 — Saves my Peace

*2026-02-16, version 2.5.8*

This app is truly a lifesaver-my coparent refuses to agree to use a coparenting app, but I can use this one on my own.
It will flag aggressive messages and just give me the basics without all the emotional manipulation. Then I can go back later when I’m ready to see the original message. Also, it helps to have an app I can use for journaling that makes it easy to print out entries for court use. Highly recommend!

### 5/5 — Saved my sanity

*2026-02-03, version 2.5.8*

This app truly gave me back my peace. Having them give me a summary and flag the message when the other parent is being verbally abuse helps me prepare myself to read his messages. Then it helping me craft messages back so that I’m the adult in the room is truly a lifesaver. Highly recommend for anyone who has a high conflict coparenting dynamic.

### 5/5 — baby momma drama

*2026-01-24, version 2.5.7*

thank you. get this app if you’re a single dad.
