It never connect, even with all settings turned on, reset etc, doesn’t record the journey or it does for a week then stops again. I have had 4 wingman’s now and they all stop connecting after a while. They have an “online bot” who “answers” all your questions but doesn’t resolve anything. ### 1/5 — Does not work *2021-07-05* This app is ridiculously bad! I have been with carrot insurance for almost a year and it has stopped working 3 times. It randomly stops recording journeys despite never changing the required settings on your phone and a Bluetooth connection. Every time I try fix it and contact customer service it takes several attempts for them to actually solve the issue just for it to stop working 3 weeks later! The scoring for when it actually does record journeys is also strange, it rates smoothness, usage and speed but if you go over one speed bump at 15mph in a 20 zone you can bet you’ll be getting a score of 2/10… can’t think of a worse app! ### 1/5 — Never write reviews so *2021-03-02* The app and company started off great however after a few months the app stopped working had to contact them numerous times and it still wouldn’t work. Now after another year with them trying to cancel my insurance has just been a disaster cannot get through to speak to anyone at all! ### 4/5 — Not too bad *2020-12-09* Bad very little problems with this app and when I did it was easily resolved. I’m receive weekly treats which is a great bonus Just a shame my insurance increased from last year. I am constantly on the live chat asking questions and they always help so quickly! The actually app itself is really good and I love the idea of getting rewards for driving well! I’ve had no problems since being insured with this company! ### 1/5 — Awful! *2020-03-05* App never records correctly, always reckons I’m speeding. Most the time doesn’t even start my journeys. Customer service are crap and just say I need to look at my own driving. Might be better if could start and end own journeys as half the time it records me walking around doing my shopping. Worst mistake I’ve made was taking out this policy, avoid at all costs!!! ### 1/5 — Wouldn’t go with them again. *2020-02-24* I got quoted 1069 but ended up eventually paying out 1500 when they failed to inform me of many different issues. It cost me around 200 to take a named driver off the insurance as the app wasn’t compatible with their phone. The app didn’t work 90% of the time but had done the past month before my insurance ending (hmm work that one out ££) There isn’t any sort of way of getting in touch with someone face to face or via a phone call only through the awful app ### 2/5 — What you can add *2020-02-18* The best thing you could add to your app and overall is: More info on what you’re driving score means, where you went wrong and where you can improve. Be able to start and end journeys as the journey doesn’t always start straight away. Take regular readings of the miles on the dashboard so that if journeys aren’t recorded correctly then the company can at least be updated on the miles that have not been calculated by the app. Let you know what the weekly treat is in advance as an encouragement to drive better. Have a better idea of the roads around the uk. I get low scores for my smoothness but I live in an area with lots of country roads and pot holes. If these changes could happen this would be the best insurance I’ve used in the few years of driving. If not I don’t think I’ll return next year. ### 2/5 — It started off well. *2020-02-14* When I first bought the insurance and used the app I had no issues it had recorded all my journeys correctly and started and finished when when I’d turned my car on and off. Unfortunately things have not been going to plan as of late. The app will send me the notification saying I have started my journey when I’m in fact already half way. It will say it’s recorded my journey a good few hours after I’ve got to where I needed to go. Before each journey I make sure that all the things it needs to record my journeys are green which they always are however the lateness of the notifications still occur. I do get paranoid that it is not recording properly and that my insurance will be cancelled if it is not receiving the data properly. To end on a positive, whenever I have needed to contact the company via phone, I have always been left happy by the quality of their customer service. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2020-01-21* I complained shortly after I bought my insurance as the app recorded all my journeys as straight lines and often wouldn’t end the recording for hours after I had left the car. I specifically asked that I wouldn’t be affected in terms of insurance if a journey wasn’t recorded due to a fault in their app and they assured me I wouldn’t. Now they have update the app and it doesn’t record any of my journeys at all! I have deleted and re-downloaded the app and it still doesn’t work.
