### 3/5 — Update pls

*2024-05-05, version 2.2.7*

Can u give us new sound effects and also make the app dark more pls and add in “every 2 days” etc thanks! 💛

### 3/5 — App hasn’t been updated in 2 years!

*2024-02-07, version 2.2.7*

I like the app, but it’s disappointing that I’m paying for an annual subscription and now the home screen widget (the feature I use the most) doesn’t work because the developer doesn’t seem to be making any updates to the app anymore. Not sure what I am paying for?

### 4/5 — Better habits

*2020-12-01, version 2.2.6*

I like the app but I can’t figure out how to do simple things like delete a habit.

### 3/5 — Good but...

*2020-08-02, version 2.2.1*

This app is really good. I’ve been using it for a couple weeks and it’s really helped keep me motivated to form some new habits.

But, there’s a bug that drives me crazy. The app provides a nice overview of past performance, with the ability to mark actions in the past as completed. Cool right, except it doesn’t save these updates. So when I return to the app after adding some, they are gone. Probably going to have to switch to another app because of this, unless a fix is issued ASAP.

Also, there’s no watch app. It needs one.

### 4/5 — Love the app

*2019-10-01, version 2.2.0*

I love the soothing colors and the little sounds it makes when you complete a habit for the day. You have the ability to make your own habits, picking a color, picture icon, and difficulty. You can go premium where it shows all of your habits on active display or keep it free where it only shows 3 habits on active display and the rest of the habits are queued. However, when you completely finish a habit, the app crashes. It also crashes when you try to delete a habit, it can get frustrating. Otherwise a great app for creating good habits.

### 5/5 — The app is great, but iOS 13.1 breaks it

*2019-09-25, version 2.2.0*

I’ve been using the free version for around a year now, and I think it’s absolutely great. Unfortunately I was 13.1 has broken it. I’ve tried re-uploading the app, which is a bit of a nuisance as it lost all my progress, but the fresh version still breaks. When you open it, it clicks onto the screen but then disappears immediately. It is actually open: you can see it when you try changing between apps; but when you select it it doesn’t come up.

### 5/5 — I love this app!

*2019-08-01, version 2.2.0*

This app makes me want to form good habits.

### 4/5 — Great app but having some minor issues

*2019-07-11, version 2.2.0*

App seems to not respond when ‘levelling up’. Checking support to see if this is a known issue.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2019-05-07, version 2.1.5*

My favorite habit app. Looks so pretty and clean. Takes a little while to set up each habit but that is consistent with most of the habit trackers and depends on how many features you're wanting to use (multiple scheduling, reminders, etc.) I like that it limits you to three things to focus on (on the free version - you can have more in Premium but I'm finding it useful still to keep it a low number since I was used to that the first year or so I used it). I like that you can rate how hard a particular habit is and it will take that into account in the arc of your goal. I also like that it shows how missing a habit for a while affects the current rootedness of the habit. When you see not only the habit and the completions but the relative degree of how much something really has become a habit and you can see how missing it for a couple of days can undo how much of a habit it has become, it helps you stick to each thing a lot more I think than if all you’re tracking is completion. If you have any problems it is definitely worth the time to contact them or do a review - they helped me with a couple of questions very promptly! (Thanks you guys!) I had been using this in conjunction with Productive but now I'm just using this. For some reason the other habit apps just make me stress even when I go in to record progress etc. and Better Habits just makes me smile, and doesn't feel stressful even when I'm dropping the ball a little on a habit. All of the little graphics to record various aspects of your habit still confuse me a little bit - it really does track lots of stuff - but the longer you stick with each habit the more those markers become clear.

### 3/5 — It’s fine

*2019-05-01, version 2.1.5*

I can’t see paying for what it does, but I do like the mastery bar. Design is clunky. Nothing too exciting about it.

### 3/5 — Why is this a subscription rather than a full purchase

*2019-03-21, version 2.1.5*

This app is good, I do not recommend the subscription. But the app does a fantastic job of keeping you ToDos organized.

### 5/5 — Simple, good design

*2019-03-18, version 2.1.5*

Thanks to the developers for making its simple use free. It is a great app.

### 5/5 — 😄

*2019-02-13, version 2.1.5*

This is such a unique and well done app—bar none, one of the best I’ve seen in this space.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not better at all

*2025-08-13, version 2.2.7*

The user interface is terrible. Outdated and poor design. Font sizes and colors are weird and inconsistent. Does not even support dark mode. But please, pay us $20 every six months for making this terrible app!

### 1/5 — Should be better for $4.99 a month

*2022-04-01, version 2.2.7*

I like that this habit tracker has nagging alerts but the interface is not very intuitive. The stats does not seem to work I used this for a month and still not statistics. Not worth the 4.99 right now will check on it to see how it develops.

### 1/5 — Desperately Needs to be UPDATED

*2020-05-09, version 2.2.1*

I’ve been a premium user for over a year now. There’s no doubt about it: its application of Nag Reminders to continuously push you to complete a habit for that day is brilliant. I’m astonished that no other habit app has adopted this feature because it makes a huge difference, especially given how easy it is to ignore a single reminder these days. Where this app falls short though is in staying updated.

1) How can you call yourself a serious habits app when you DON’T have an Apple Watch version? Or a Web App version? This makes it difficult for me to quickly check off my habits when I’m working at my Mac, for example, and my phone is on silent. As a professional, this is a frequent experience.

2) The last update was A YEAR AGO. I don’t understand how you can expect users to trust you when you are barely ensuring the app is optimized for the latest iOS.

Because of this I have had to end my subscription and delete Better Habits.

### 1/5 — CRASHED!

*2018-08-30, version 2.0.0*

Several days ago a message popped up about “If you do this it will make your task complete” [or something like that]. Yet I could never get past that window, I had to delete and reinstall the application for it to work again, losing all my history.

### 1/5 — Nag reminder not working

*2018-01-22, version 1.2.7*

I like the concept of this app but the nag reminder just stopped working out of the blue.
It would also be cool to have monthly and yearly Habits

### 2/5 — Nice app

*2023-11-22, version 2.2.7*

Just wish I didn’t have to pay for premium to do almost everythin.

### 2/5 — Very disappointed with the app

*2021-04-26, version 2.2.6*

Don’t let you use more than 3 and I was expecting more functions to it...

### 2/5 — Great ideas, but some issues to work on

*2019-10-16, version 2.2.1*

This app is cleverly designed and promising, but it doesn’t reliably record and track my habits. There’s no way to back up your data in case something goes wrong or you get a new phone and want to transfer your data. The pace of development has also been very slow considering the high costs for the premium membership and the significant limitations on the free version.

### 2/5 — Expensive subscription

*2019-01-20, version 2.1.5*

Disappointed that such a simple app is paired with a big price tag. Over £18 per year for an incredibly basic interface is unreasonable. This seems to be a growing trend with every app switching to a subscription-based model. You could easily spend hundreds of pounds on apps if you signed up for each app doing this.
The app itself is a good idea and the free version will be ok for many users. I hope the developers listen and consider offering a fairer price for people interested in using the app and supporting them.

### 2/5 — Maravero

*2018-07-25, version 1.3.1*

I didn’t like it.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Favorite App for 10 years

*2025-11-02, version 2.2.7*

Essential

### 5/5 — My Opinion of Better Habits reminders

*2024-10-07, version 2.2.7*

I find Better Habits to be the best way of reminding me when Home Care workers will be at my suite to make sure I take my medications as prescribed , at certain times, & I am now always on track throughout the day & never miss them.
Because of this I am a lot healthier and in better spirits accordingly.
 What a welcoming service.

### 5/5 — Very Useful and Almost Perfect

*2022-04-28, version 2.2.7*

Very useful and always improving, but still needs some way of capturing broken sleep patterns which may cumulatively add up to more than I thought.

### 5/5 — There for you all the way.

*2022-04-18, version 2.2.7*

This beautifully designed and pleasant interface is a brilliant tool. You feel as though you have a coach or mentor with you. It is very positive and supportive which makes changing habits that have plagued you for years suddenly achievable!!

### 5/5 — Straightforward and helpful!!

*2022-03-25, version 2.2.7*

I love how the app is very simple and straightforward about settling and maintaining goals! It hones in on the fundamentals of habits and helps you see your progress. It even lets you do a repeating habit multiple times a day, like drinking multiple bottles of water.

### 5/5 — Split decisions

*2021-06-01, version 2.2.7*

Awesome

### 5/5 — GROUNDBREAKING

*2020-11-13, version 2.2.6*

I’ve tried literally every habit tracking app in the App Store & this is a complete flexx 💪🏼 on all of them. Building a habit is more than just a consecutive streak for 30 days. A real true habit that is automatic to us often takes 90 days tbh so that’s why I love the way the app takes this into account. The only suggestion I can think of is maybe in the area where there are pre-listed habits, to add researched tips on how to best incorporate them. Tips like habit stacking sequences, cues/triggers, significance of environment, peer group, etc. For example if you want to work out daily suggest making new friends who live the gym fitness lifestyle or the daily guitar practice gives specific tip like making sure you have obvious alignment & eliminate friction by placing guitar in the center of the room. It’s really a great app I was kinda shocked how good I put this on the first page of my phone screen - that’s prime real estate ok 😂 👌🏼

### 5/5 — Great but needs to be adjustable

*2020-05-09, version 2.2.1*

I work third shift so half way though my day it starts a new day. I would like there to be an option to be available for third shift workers. I work from 8pm to 8 am so for those that don’t work third shift that’s like the app resetting at 12 pm. I bought a years subscription but I don’t know if it was the. Best choice as I’ve forced to get stuff done in half the time everyone else is.

### 5/5 — The app I didn’t realize I needed

*2020-04-27, version 2.2.1*

I thought I had a good handle on keeping up with my habits...Until I started tracking them with this app. Now, I’m able to keep myself accountable throughout the day, and keep track!

### 5/5 — Simply Lovely!

*2019-10-26, version 2.2.1*

I love the simplistic design. For those without premium, your habits are limited to three which is the norm for other habit tracker apps. Personally I believe these limitations helps oneself to focus on the important habits that you’re trying to develop so it doesn’t hold you back from the experience. What I love from this app is how you can backtrack to input that you’ve done your habit the previous day because if there’s one thing that I haven't developed as a habit yet that is to input me doing my actual habits in this app. Options on customizing the little icons and colors also make it a treat for the eyes to use.
