I love the ability to create hashtags so I can organize my notes by categories. Although I love this app I believe it can be better. Is it possible to have our hashtags organized in albums instead of list? I believe this would make it easier to navigate through the app. Currently it just feels like a endless list with a never ending bottom. So it can be overwhelming to sort out. I also think having a feature to change the background color of our notes would be amazing and another great way to organize related notes. For example being able to make all my #ToDo notes green. Then be able to view by color. Again thank you for creating such an amazing app. It’s honestly the best mobile notes app in my opinion and I hope my suggestions are able to help improve it. ### 5/5 — The best reminder app *2021-09-28, version 0.11.1* This is a simple solution for reminders. However, I had a year worth of poems that I had on there that I was going to write down in a physical journal since they’re so important to me, but they’re gone. No where to be found, not even in my archives. I cried so hard, those poems were written out of passion in my hardest of times and the fact that they just disappeared and I don’t know how to get them back makes me so sad. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Lost years of notes *2023-01-27, version 0.11.2* I had stupidly save precious notes from my grandmothers funeral and had diligently backed everything from this app up to my iCloud so that I had two places the data was saved. Now I can’t access my notes. I’ve contacted the developer over and over with no answer and I’ve tried Apple but they say the only way to get the back up is from better notes app. Definitely not worth the pain and suffering. ### 1/5 — Too much clutter from their instructions *2021-05-16* There are at least 5 notes with pictures and instructions that make this note app impossible. There should be an EASY way to delete them but they can’t be deleted. If I want a note app where the developer has a bunch of notes on how to use it and ugly photos, it’s absolutely useless. I’m dumping this app. Why should I be sick written 5 boxes with pictures of things like tennis shoes if it’s my app. If there’s a way to get rid of them, I’ve tried darn near everything. Is this the developer’s ad that never goes away. If I do not exit a note, the note ends up gone. I’ve unfortunately lost a few important notes over the last month. ### 2/5 — Abandonware *2018-01-30, version 0.8.12* Sadly, this appears to be abandonware. (Software the developer has stopped working on.) There is still no update to fit the iPhone X display, and the twitter account has been silent for over a year. Thankfully, there is free PDF export, but it’s a less-than-ideal “everything together” option that makes it laborious to import anywhere else. ### 2/5 — without Apple Pencil support why bother? *2017-12-05* When it comes to taking notes, the whole thing is about being quick and easy (convenient). Otherwise, why not use one of the many word processing or text editing apps? There are plenty that allow hashtags, searching and more. Problem is, they’re not fast and convenient. Then there’s the brilliance of Apple Pencil and it’s handwriting features. There are apps like GoodNotes, Notability, Note Shelf and more that utilize Apple Pencil and hand writing but again, these are major apps that must be launched and navigated. Good for serious writing but not for jotting quick notes. I hoped this would be the missing link. It’s not. Hashtags and searching are a nice addition but without Apple Pencil integration, it’s not convenient to me. If you don’t care about that, you will probably like this app. The description is accurate. ### 2/5 — Needs plain text text sync with iCloud/Dropbox *2016-09-29, version 0.8.8* This is a great app, but since it's not available on the mac, iPad or the web, you need to allow other apps to access notes generated in betternotes as plaintext (maybe with image links) ### 2/5 — Better notes Importer Does Not Work *2016-09-10, version 0.8.8* I was looking forward to trying this app but when I attempted to troubleshoot and figure out the buttons. I installed teh app locally as per the instructions and yet, it fails to exporte the noews With as many note taking apps on the market, this will easily be relegated to a high school proejct that failed all because of the importer ### 3/5 — No undo or redo feature *2024-12-14* Unfortunately, the lack of an undo or redo feature means this app is unusable for me as a note taking app. This may not be an issue on desktop or if Cntrl+Z is available, however this unfortunately is not the case on Ipad.
