Its a web wrapper, based on… Content over function - users come to get a task done, not browse around hoping to find something fun to do (search exists for a reason). Poor taxonomy. Secondary level of account login/creation when booking swimming classes, prob due to different backends, but logging into an app when you are already logged in doesn’t make sense, also login credentials can actually be different. ### 1/5 — The Worst App… Ever! *2026-06-30, version 109.79.1* I’ve recently joined my local Better gym and this app is enough to put me off visiting for good! I’ve never left a review of an app before, but this one is so poorly designed and executed that I’m going out of my way to write this so people can understand my strength of feeling. Amongst its flaws, this app impossible to navigate, doesn’t let me log in, frequently logs me out without warning… Oh, and the barcode it generates don’t actually allow me access to my local gym, rendering the app completely pointless. ### 1/5 — Dreadful app *2026-06-27, version 109.79.1* Rubbish app. Always logs me out and won’t remember password, and have to manually input card details every time ### 2/5 — Poor *2026-06-26, version 109.79.1* I hate to diss a social enterprise but my membership was shown ad cancelled even though I’d paid in full and had a live direct debit with my bank. No response from customer services within 2 days. App not particularly user friendly if easy to navigate. ### 1/5 — Bad *2026-06-25, version 109.79.1* Bad ### 1/5 — Slow *2026-06-25, version 109.79.1* Painful app to use. ### 1/5 — This app is absolutely horrible *2026-06-10, version 109.79.1* Please change this app cause it is appalling ### 1/5 — Another poor update *2026-06-10, version 109.79.1* Yet again Better’s app team have done the opposite of their name and made this even worse (quite an achievement.) multiple stars to book: Book activities ➡️ Swimming ➡️ Lido (there is only one pool at this centre) ➡️ Select day and time. Not only that but where there used to be 15 slots available per ten minute slot, these have been bundled into 85 (?) for an hour but people can still book in any ten minute slot. This means you could get 85 people turning up when the centre opens or 85 in the last ten minute slot of one hour and 85 in the first slot the next hour. These are unlikely extremes but it is clear that problems will occur and unfortunately it will be the brilliant staff, including lifeguards, who bear the brunt of customers’ annoyance. Please Better, rethink this daft idea, or at least let centres decide on how to set up the app. Please could you also talk to users and find out what their pain points are, look at their user journeys and improve them. Finally, could a basket option be shown on the app? Currently selecting 2 swims by mistake requires going into the website to access the basket and remove one! How ridiculous is that! ### 1/5 — Esonika *2026-06-09, version 109.79.1* First time reviewing an app, it is that bad I wonder if they’re conducting a research for swimming enthusiasts. Think of all the simple features you expect from an app for ease of use such as viewing your basket at any time or saving your billing details for payment, easy to navigate ui. Heh then remove all those good things and add bunch of unnecessary menus without any purpose for confusion. That’s “better(?)” app ### 2/5 — The log in system is terrible *2026-06-07, version 109.79.1* Can’t log in with email, even though it says you can. Always have to find my membership number in my email. The forgot your password thing is flaky at best. This first hurdle tarnishes the entire user experience.
