## What is BetterFlare?

BetterFlare is the flight training companion for flight schools and flying clubs. Instructors keep every student, syllabus and logged lesson in one place, and students follow their own training, on the phone, even without an internet connection.

STUDENTS AT A GLANCE
• See all students of your organisation the moment you sign in
• Current syllabus, next planned lesson, hours, landings and completed exercises for each student
• Call or message a student straight from their profile

LOG LESSONS IN SECONDS
• Dual and solo hours, landings, block times and meter readings
• Cross-country, night and other hour categories per flight
• Tick off exercises as in progress or completed while you log
• Weather, feedback and homework notes, with an optional e-mail to the student
• Attach photos of the flight plan or map preparation

SYLLABUSES BUILT FOR YOUR SCHOOL
• Start from EASA PPL(A), LAPL or ultralight templates, or build your own
• Reorder, rename and add exercises on the go
• Set licence minimums and follow each student's progress towards them

FOR STUDENTS
• Sign in with the account your school created for you
• Follow your syllabus, hours, landings and minimums flight by flight
• Read your instructor's feedback and the plan for the next lesson
• Keep licences, medicals and theory tests at hand

WORKS OFFLINE
• Everything you log is stored on the device and synced automatically when you are back online
• Failed uploads are shown so nothing is lost

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.0.6 — 2026-09-28

Students can now use BetterFlare too. Sign in with your student account to follow your syllabus, hours, landings and licence minimums, read your instructor's feedback after every flight and keep licences, medicals and theory tests at hand.

For instructors: a cross-country switch when logging lessons, syllabus minimums with progress per student, hour and landing categories on every flight card, and Log Out under Account.

### 1.0.5 — 2026-09-23

• Log a lesson as Dual, Solo or Dual + Solo. For a first solo, enter the dual part and the rest of the block time goes to solo.
• Pick the lesson date from a calendar.
• Type clock times as plain digits, e.g. 0930. Airborne to landing fills in the flight time.
• Open any exercise to read its full description, on the student card and while logging a lesson.
• Exercises already completed are folded away while logging, so the next ones are right there.
• Keep students' licences, medicals and theory tests on file, with a warning before they expire.
• Cross-country hours for PPL training.
• Admins can switch block times on or off from the Organisation screen.
• Adding a student takes you straight to their student card.

### 1.0.4 — 2026-09-15

- Smoother navigation: no more flicker when returning to the student list or student page.
- Logging out from the Organisation screen now returns to the sign-in screen.
- Fixed a brief white flash after signing in.
- Small improvements can now be delivered without a full App Store update.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-09-14

No release notes.
