But as for sounds and such there hasn’t been anything new added in a year. I use it nightly, and there is still “new” tags on content that has been around since 2025. Too much of the music has sharp sounds too - there aren’t a lot of smooth droning type of ambient songs that have lush layers of warmth. Andrew Green is really good and I hope we get more from him. If you are adding new sounds then they’re hidden away. I can only play 4 sounds for free and if I use Siri on accident I have to close the app out because it won’t play again but when I try to open it it doesn’t let me so I have to restart my device and use it. I’m sorry but you guys have to get a grip you were doing great and now you’re losing customers that don’t want to pay for premium to sleep. When it switched to BetterSleep, the focus of the development changed. The things I loved best, like the sleeptales haven’t been updated in months, but other content that’s not actually useful seems to update regularly. It’s disappointing that my favorite relax and meditation app is edging into delete and forget territory. ### 3/5 — Mixed bag *2026-08-13, version 26.14* Definitely a mixed bag. I love the content (sleep stories are best for me) but a number usage details are frustrating and seem could be easily corrected. Very difficult and non-intuitive to make playlists. No shuffle play on playlists. No way to advance tracks within a playlist other than unlocking your phone and doing it within the app (which of course wreaks sleep). No Bluetooth enabled track advances work (such as from AirPod pro’s or Apple Watch). The watch app is completely useless. No meaningful purpose at all. Alarms are frustrating in that like track advancing, to stop the alarm you can only do it by unlocking phone and doing from the app itself (which is always a panic). Would be FAR better if it were from Apple Watch (like you would for Apple alarms). Upside is that alarms do play through Bluetooth headphones (which I like). I’m sitting in bed, it’s 3am and I’ve tried out a lot of apps that could help me sleep, here comes better sleep, I download it when I was younger and the sounds and music helped a lot, and then BOOM I get hit with a “try for free” obviously I can’t try it for free because I’m still a minor and I don’t have a card, so duhuh, anyways I try exiting and there’s no X anywhere, at this point I’m super tired and I rlly hate it, what happened to this app why do you have to pay to even enter it now. Unfortunately the first response is AI but all you have to do is tell it you want a life person/representative… ### 5/5 — Best sleep ever *2026-08-17, version 26.14* I’m an EMT and not afraid to admit I suffer from PTSD, depression and anxiety. I recommend this app to patients and have even pulled it out to help calm them. If you have a hard time sleeping cause you can’t get out of your head, the meditations are perfect for that. Just get it. Get the premium and be done. You won’t regret it. Zero ads with premium anyway. Turns out it was yearly. What the heck, not cool. I love this app so I hope at the end of my subscription date the price is still the same five dollars so I can keep having it yearly. I suppose. 10/10 app. Need to add more noises for mixes and more Sleeptales because I’ve listened to all of them over and over and over…and over again. I use it every night and listen to so many stories during the night. I’ll even put it on when I’m in the car just to give myself a motivation boost or even just to help my anxiety calm down.
