I see a screen with grey flashing boxes like it’s trying to populate, but nothing happens. Hope they fix this soon… ### 2/5 — Used to love but now it won’t load *2024-02-14, version 2.0.16* For three days now, the app says “Hello, Undefined!” And the appointment types won’t load making this useless. Guess I’ll be using a different vet from now on! ### 2/5 — Warning: You can’t choose your vet *2024-01-20* My wonderful mobile home visit vet merged into BetterVet a year a lbs a half ago, which made me trust BetterVet. It seems like a good idea and concept: easy to schedule, subscription model, but when it comes down to it, if your beloved creature is sick, you may get random folks, from anywhere in the world, if online, and anywhere in the region, if in person, as your visiting vets and vet techs. The vets and techs have been helpful, but there’s no continuity between providers-so no history or rapport is built between the vet and animal or vet and you. The only consistency in my experience is many items being suggested for purchase that make it seem like they have a mandate to sell for kickbacks from certain brands. The vets and techs also seem they may be overworked. They always seem harried, like they’re having to operate in a system that doesn’t support them well. It’s really a bummer. I’m not even able to request the vet I used to have. The result is this very convenient thing is an alienatingly impersonal experience where quality of care compromised. I get the feeling they match techs and vets at random so the care team may be perfect strangers when they come to you, and it shows in difficult communication between them, or just in the ways they have to negotiate how to do things. I really wish this worked, but it’s just too big, it seems. ### 4/5 — App is Great! *2023-10-17, version 2.0.9* App was fantastic. Customer service was terrible. Deleted and moving on. ### 3/5 — Love the service but there is a lot to improve on *2022-04-05* I’ve two french bulldogs, and during covid one of them happened to have scratched his cornea. At the time, wait times for an appointment was upwards of two months away, but obviously waiting that long wasn’t an option. I thought about bringing him to an emergency hospital, but where I am those visits usually end up lasting a whole day. During covid, spending the whole day in a room with strangers wasn’t exactly ideal, and so I’m extremely grateful for when BetterVet came to my and my pup’s rescue. Though our visit went great, it’s worth noting just how buggy the app is. It’s a shame because as much as I would really like to utilize their services more, I found it hard to trust the service when the app is so buggy! **Developer response:** Hello, thank you for your review! A vet that visits your home in NYC? Yes please. Then they got bought by The Vets and no longer offered services in NYC for some reason. I checked out their prices and they are insanely high. Much higher than BV. It’s a shame that BV is no more. I really liked my vet and vet tech. ### 1/5 — What happened to this great app? *2025-05-04* We used to love bettervet and recommended it to so many friends but it’s become so buggy and is basically impossible to use since the merger, customer support does not respond to any requests for help. I had to cancel my subscription because I literally couldn’t book an appointment without the failing to load the scheduling workflow 99% of the time. Super disappointed as bettervet used to be an absolute lifesaver. ### 1/5 — Much regret! *2025-02-26, version 2.0.22* They are awful at responding! It’s absolutely infuriating. The app always give a bot and I’ve been waiting over 30 minutes for the bot to reply on the app. Also tried calling and had to leave a message and no reply to that either. They are the WORST!! ### 1/5 — Use for well care only. *2024-07-22, version 2.0.22* This is both the most expensive and worst vet care I have ever had. You can’t call or talk to your vet on the phone, only via email and only if they email you first. If they go out of town, your email isn’t answered until they get back and there isn’t any kind of auto reply they are out of town. Their support is a chat bot. ### 1/5 — Awful service *2024-05-22, version 2.0.21* Will overcharge you without concent, medical records are deliberately difficult to get, etc. Never again. ### 1/5 — App crashes / poor customer support *2023-11-12* I'm extremely disappointed with this app. Despite its promising features, it constantly crashes on my phone, making it practically unusable. I've tried reinstalling and updating, but nothing seems to work. What's even more frustrating is the lack of response from customer support. I've reached out multiple times regarding these issues, but have received no assistance or even acknowledgment of my concerns. It's disheartening to see such potential wasted due to poor technical performance and customer service neglect. I can't recommend this app under these circumstances. ### 1/5 — Terrible App and Service *2023-08-09* Recent updates have taken away much of the applications functionality. You used to get a complete detailed invoice of your visit in the app and you have to call in and wait on hold to request it. Not sure why they keep sending me promotional emails when they clearly aren’t taking customers. Total waste of time ### 1/5 — I’m sad *2022-02-09* My video visit was GREAT! The Doctor put my mind at ease, and all was well. My follow-up physical appointment seemed perfect. The Veterinarian prescribed medicine for my dog, I was unable to get (she did not put her name on the Rx). The pharmacy and myself tried to reach her but to no avail. There was NO follow up, I won’t be using again. I ended up having to take my dog to a veterinarian anyway. This was a big waste of time and money. Why not even return a phone call? Please don’t now. I’m not paying another cent. That was an expensive lesson! ### 1/5 — Is this still operational? *2022-02-08, version 1.5.65* I signed up for BetterVet, and tried to make an appointment through the app but it won’t let me add a payment method and therefore won’t let me book an appointment. I called their customer care line during its stated business hours and no one picked up. Makes me question if this is still running. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — An aggressive cat is now a happy cat. *2024-07-08* After nerves racking visits to the vet with a fearful and aggressive cat, I decided to try Better Vet. I could not even give the cat gabapentin. I was advised to keep the cat in a safe and closed room so I placed her in the bathroom just prior to the arrival. I was fearful that the cat would get out of hand and there would be another stressful situation for both cat and vet and vet assistant. However, all went smoothly! Dr Ashley and her able assistant both went into the tiny bathroom where my cat was sequestered while I awaited out in the living room expecting the worst, which never happened! They were able to calm the cat and administer the injections as well as remove a clump of matted fur, all with no feline drama! In less than 10 minutes, all left the bathroom happy, with the cat sauntering out with her tail in the air and rubbing against both the vet and the assistant! It was a bit more expensive than loading up the cat and then taking the cat out to a vey, but so very worth it!! Home is a perfect environment for a stressed animal (and a stressed owner!). They were so patient, kind, and generous with their information and expertise and so compassionate about working with my pet!! Going to the Vet is such a hassle to me, they’re always understaffed and just tell me what to do without explaining why or the options available. I always feel like I’m being taken advantage of. I feel so much more comfortable with Better Vet! Super easy to make appointments! Came through super amazingly. Very professional and knows what they are doing. My dog was very scared but they did a great job calming her down.
