## Newest reviews (13 of 58)

### 3/5 — Outdated

*2026-06-11, version 12.0.18*

Not been updated in over a year. Doesn’t look like up to date prices. Previously very good with price fluctuations

### 3/5 — Functionality

*2025-01-12, version 12.0.18*

So I’m on my second attempt at using Bevvy and there’s still a few things that never seem to get corrected.
1. You can only make 10 lists. It’s not the point that you can only make 10 it’s the point you aren’t told this at the start. That’s a few days list making wasted.
2. The navigation to your scanned bottle to write and price has to be done from inside a list. Even then it’s a lot of trial and error.
3. Navigating back to the Home Screen is a lot of back buttons instead of a home button. That’s a pure pain and a bit naive in design.
4. Still crashes when adding bottles. Shut down and start again. Pain.
5. Pricing still seems arbitrary. If this is auction pricing then point me that way as I’d be buying at that price.

### 3/5 — Poor

*2024-06-22, version 12.0.3*

Valuation based on the minimum auction price .

The Ballot for limited release is actually a bottle produced for Bevy .. very misleading

### 4/5 — No button

*2024-05-18, version 12.0.3*

I like the App and have recently started entering bottles from my collection. However when I try and review a whisky I can select the number of stars and the characteristics but there is no button to submit my review. Can you fix please?

Had a reply from developers but did not address the problem. The RATE button for submitting a review shows on my iPad but not my iPhone 12 mini.

### 4/5 — Good and getting better

*2024-01-13, version 11.0.5*

I was able to add most of my collection to the app. It is missing bottles and I submitted those.

I wish there was a way to tell the app that I have more than one of certain bottles. I have two of a few things and can only add one. When trying to add it a second time, the app removes it from the list. That is weird behavior to begin with.

Scanning in bottles seems to do it the hard way. Why not just scan the barcode? Also, I can’t figure out a way to delete previous scans.

Overall, decent app with room for improvement.

### 4/5 — Huge potential but a bit more for those using for collections

*2023-10-07, version 10.10.11*

I love the app and a lot of the functionality is fantastic. However, I feel for those using the app to detail their collection it lacks a few basic things. See below.

Key issues:

No ability to search ‘My Lists’ to show various cuts of the data e.g show me all whiskies from a particular region, category, distiller, etc or show me all whiskies worth more than £200 or rank whiskies in order of rating?

I can’t get the ‘Your Rating’ section to work on my iPhone 12 - I can add stars, add comments , adjust sliders but there’s no ‘save’ button - can you help?

Other issues:

Dashboard on Home page showing how many bottles I have saved in ‘My Lists’

Ability to reorder lists in ‘My List’ section

Ability to clear scans from home page - looks messy and takes up memory?

### 5/5 — Slanje!

*2023-09-22, version 10.10.9*

Been on the hunt for a good app for reviewing and keeping tabs on quality spirits, and finally found it! Brilliant.

### 5/5 — Fantastic app and great for collectors

*2023-08-09, version 1.10.08*

I’ve used spreadsheets over the years but this is a great tool for cataloging your collection. Some expressions don’t get found but they always reply with a result on time. Valuations are on the whole accurate with some a small way off other auction sites I use.
Overall I love this app and will continue to use it. Maybe with the name it will evolve into Rums and other spirits.

### 2/5 — Not for the rest of the world.

*2023-07-20, version 1.10.07*

Don’t bother if your in North America or have any interest in tracking/searching for bottles of Bourbon, American, Canadian whiskey, or small independent distilleries. It’s simply not there. Very much a Euro-centric app and not a “world’s best” as they market it as.

The scanning never worked once for me, again… because I am not in the UK and 90% of the bottles I would scan are not in their database. The manual search is also exceedingly basic. No ability to browse by region or style. Again, because there is only one region in “the worlds best whiskey app”. Even most liquor stores with an online store use keywords.

Overall, a lot of potential, but not the global whiskey app I was hoping it was going to be.

### 3/5 — Great potential, but essentially in beta

*2023-07-18, version 1.10.07*

This could become an amazing companion app for whisky aficionados and collectors everywhere. But as it is, it has a long was to go. The system is so buggy that I find myself having to close the app every few searches as it is constantly freezing. And the search function is not prioritized well; if you do a simple search like Johnnie Walker you’re likely to have to scroll past ten or so obscure single releases that you’ve never heard of and will never see before finding a basic red or black. It is good that there are so many options, but basic prioritization is essential.

### 4/5 — Nice Idea and nice App

*2023-05-31, version 1.10.04*

The idea behind the app is nice. The app itself is easy to use and gives a lot of input for tastings. Also it is possible to organize your own tasting experience.
Unfortunately the app does not work properly on IPhone SE 1st generation, it is not possible to make a rating because scrolling is disabled.

### 5/5 — Fantastic!

*2023-03-14, version 1.9.17*

Really live who the app continues to developer and expand. The ballots and cases to bottles very exciting

### 5/5 — Update from previous review

*2023-03-12, version 1.9.17*

This app has gotten so much better since it’s first came out… so easy to use to find and keep track of all your bottles.. I like the fact you can now add your own tasting notes for future references.. tasting videos are cool had fun over Christmas watching along with my whisky calendar.. looking forward to seeing how this apps moves forward a nice little rum section as a side gig would be superb for the rum drinkers..

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Suck

*2026-02-07, version 12.0.18*

Can’t even identify Famous Grouse

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2025-07-27, version 12.0.18*

It seems this app is focused on getting you to buy through them, it’s all about building a list they can market to you from. It’s not collector or hobby focused, and it would seem their price guides are wildly inaccurate, especially for bourbons (either that or the UK prices are insanely cheap).

### 1/5 — Suddenly can’t add bottles to a list

*2024-07-26, version 12.0.4*

Kind of disappointed that all of a sudden I can’t add bottles to a list.
I’ll have to find another app and start all over again.

### 1/5 — Poor user interface

*2024-06-28, version 12.0.3*

I have used this app a couple of times and find it really frustrating. There is a cart button and everything has a price but I have never been able to actually add anything to the cart.

I suppose if you want some simple informants fine but as a resource to find and buy whisky it is useless

### 1/5 — Data grab

*2024-02-05, version 11.0.7*

Requires you to login / register to get anything other than a picture of the bottle you’ve just photographed/scanned into the app. Opening as guest is ultimately nil functionality. Complete waste of time.

### 1/5 — App is frustrating.

*2023-12-22, version 11.0.3*

Scanning worked 0% of the 10 tries on different common bottles

### 1/5 — Needs a better database to be good

*2023-07-15, version 1.10.07*

Came across an Instagram ad and claimed to have a database of more than 100,000 labels - hardly picked up anything though 🤷

### 1/5 — Limited/waste of time

*2022-04-02, version 1.3.3*

The handful of screens which exist look nice, but that does not make up for an inadequate database and absence of useful features

The utility of apps like this are highly dependent on the size and quality of the database of products they are based upon. The database of bevvy does not even contain the standard releases of big name Scottish distilleries; if you want to track world whisky, special releases, smaller Scottish distilleries etc you are totally out of luck.

The utility of the app is not only limited by the weakness of the underlying database, but also by the lack of functionality to allow users to create their own entries - the poor database would be less of a hinderance if I could record my own whiskies, but beyond taking a picture you cannot.

I’ve had it for a few months, hoping that the obvious failings would be rectified, but they have not. I am hopeful for something to be the untappd of whisky, but currently bevvy is in no way it

### 1/5 — Doesn’t Work

*2022-01-30, version 1.2.4*

App doesn’t work - creating an account through Apple seems ok, but when trying to log inc errors kick me straight out. App support takes you to a dead link.

This app simply shouldn’t be on the market yet - take it off the store, get it properly ready, and then I’ll have another go.

### 1/5 — Not ready

*2021-12-31, version 1.2.1*

Singing up with a native account or Google didn’t work. Apple did. Tried my first scan and it just said it couldn’t access the internet. Good luck guys, but this isn’t market ready

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — The best whisky app

*2024-10-11, version 12.0.8*

A must for any whisky lover!

### 5/5 — Useful and engaging app

*2024-07-10, version 12.0.3*

I installed the Bevvy app when it first launched and really enjoy using it. No whisky database is complete or 100% accurate but I find the app team very quick to update missing bottles. I tend to buy recent releases from independent bottlers so it’s not really a surprise that some are missing occasionally.

Bottles often have reviews from well respected personalities in the whisky industry and they also provide more information on the distillery and independent bottlers where applicable. I find this very good to lean more about whisky.

I also use the app to purchase tickets to local whisky tastings and I find their news section to be increasingly useful to see what is happening in the ever-changing world of whisky.

The app is well laid out and easy to use. Highly recommended to anyone who likes whisky.

### 5/5 — Fantastic app

*2024-03-11, version 11.0.9*

Thanks to the developers

### 5/5 — Bevy’s app is a must for all whisky drinkers and the collectors The whisky app is a great

*2024-02-09, version 11.0.7*

Tool for me as I have a lot of different types of whisky easy to keep track of and great tasting notes

### 5/5 — The best whisky app

*2024-01-24, version 11.0.6*

A great app which is improving all the time.

### 5/5 — Great App - Outstanding Customer Service

*2023-12-02, version 11.0.2*

I have been using the Bevvy App for over a year now and found it to be very user friendly.
It’s great for identifying bottles of whisky and providing accurate valuations ( not unrealistic inflated prices that websites quote)
Last week I made my first purchase from Bevvy ordering a whisky sample advent calendar.
I ordered the wrong calendar by mistake ( my fault) and contacted Bevvy to request that I could return the calendar in exchange for the one I wanted.
Luke at Bevvy contacted me straight away and said just to keep the calendar and he would send me the one I wanted , at no cost to me . The calendar arrived and I was delighted to find an incredible range of whiskies included a MacAllan Folio and Bunnahabhain 30 years . This won’t be my last purchase from Bevvy . Thanks again Luke and the Bevvy team .

### 5/5 — Superb Whisky app

*2023-10-10, version 10.10.11*

Anyone with an interest in Whisky has to have this app on their phone. A quick photo/scan and you get a clear description, the history, tasting notes and a price, plus much more. The potential for the app is huge and I accept this takes time. It was a good app before but has just got better. The ability to download my "Lists" of whiskys is just great. A big thanks to the team behind this helpfull app. Cheers.
