The game loads, and when I click continue it crashes and kicks me out of the game. Ive already updated the game which was almost 15 days ago. After selecting new game and I get through the first part, the second part comes up and is asking me to continue and I click continue in the games shut down automatically and I’m back at my home screen where I have to click on the app again. But I do think that the storyline is awesome and amazing. It puts you into the shoes of a marine biologist in a near future doing research in the field, diving to atolls and encountering beautiful and strange marine life. I loved playing the role of a marine biologist, as it’s a career I’ve considered. There are also short little documentary videos you can unlock throughout the game. Of course there are glitches here and there, but they aren’t detrimental to the game experience. I also loved the songs that play between dives. I played using iPad Pro & experienced none of the bugs others had mentioned. The graphics were beautiful, gameplay controls were smooth, & the story was gripping — although, my only disappointment was how it ended. It was so sudden (it only took an evening to complete), I had unanswered questions (what were those marks on the whale’s back?), & to end where it did was kinda depressing (to just sum it up in an end animation kinda felt lazy & rushed)… I would’ve enjoyed a few more sciency bits too — like comparing identifying marks with photos to ID the whales, pairing whale sounds with behaviours to find their meaning, perhaps some photography missions, etc. Obviously the dives were the primary game… But I would’ve appreciated some extra bits too, to draw out the game. Perhaps even some further investigation with regards to the illegal mining & exposing them; or how we help the whales when toxins are in the environment; or more information about how ocean discoveries can help people (e.g. treatment for illnesses, etc). I don’t know? Something. I just feel like it had potential to give so much more, & it was cut off too soon. But regardless, I enjoyed it, & I learned a few new facts about some cool animals. I even enjoyed the extras (the videos), found them interesting.
