Whimsically drawn animals create a jovial and motivating environment in which to practice math. And MATH is the primary activity in this app! Your child will engage in a variety of content each time he or she plays theGames. There are dozens of question types, with hundreds of possible question and answer configurations. 

The Beyond Cats! series of apps showcases a unique multiple-choice game-play that allows the player to self-check his or her answers at ANY time - just slide out the answer puzzle tab!

When you slide out the answer puzzle tab, check to see if the puzzle pieces are in the right place. If the animal puzzle looks jumbled, that shows that there are some wrong answers. Tap the mis-placed pieces to send them back to the game. The answer you were looking for will be available again. Keep on playing! How many animals can you collect from around the world?

This format encourages delayed gratification and critical thinking skills such as strategic competence, adaptive reasoning, spatial reasoning and a sense of independence. All excellent life-learning skills.

There is no way to know when you miss the question. For example if the question is 2,3,_
If you select 7instead of 4, the square falls down the same as the correct answer. Yes, you don't get a puzzle piece but that is not clear to the child or adult when playing the game. It should be obvious when you are incorrect.

Wonderful app for grandparents to use for quality time with pre-schoolers.  Parental controls allows an adult to select type of problems.  My pre-school grandchild first enjoyed doing shape and color games (on the iPad like her older sibling!), and it has been easy to add other math games as she becomes more comfortable.  Always reliable, easy to navigate app, excellent orientation on opening page.

I just love this app for the wonderful variety of math concepts covered. There is no chance for the preK/K child to get bored with the lovely graphics and variety of math applications that change with each screen. We were never bothered by any in-app purchases! All areas of the Common Core are addressed! So much fun!

I did get a little tired of the same tune each time the puzzle was earned. Graphics very simple. Could be just a little larger and contrast of colors with background should be more distinct.
