It’s like Instagram/Twitter for Diabetics! It’s so great to actually speak with others who know what you’re talking about and who are perhaps going through the same thing(s). We just need to get the word out a little more about this app, for the following: need a larger more diverse group of people, for the ones who aren’t in large cities it would be nice to have more than 2-3 people just in case some want to meet up, and last the app actually needs donations since it is given out for free and this app doesn’t just run on its own. I would hate to see this app just up and disappear because they couldn’t afford to keep it running. They give so many Diabetics an outlet they wouldn’t otherwise have. That’s why I give them MY 5-STAR RATING!! ### 5/5 — Type 1 Diabetics supporting Type 1 Diabetics *2018-03-12, version 4.8.7* Beyond Type 1 is a great application for anyone with (or affected by) Type 1 Diabetes—it provides an opportunity to meet and network with people who are experiencing the same ups and downs in their lives. It’s a place where users share their questions and experiences; their feats and their struggles. Living with diabetes can feel isolating at times, when the people in your immediate environment haven’t lived in your shoes, and this group helps to break down those walls. Everyone is welcome in this community: it’s for new diabetics, experienced diabetics, and everyone in between; it’s for caregivers; expecting parents; it’s for insulin pump veterans, CGM newbies, and those who stand by their pens and syringes; it’s for those who have met their A1C goals, and for those who are taking the first steps towards their own; it’s for those who have had their best month, and those who are feeling lost and burnt out; it’s for those who are seeking support, and those who are willing to give. A couple of years ago, I reached out to the members on this application during one of my most stressful experiences with T1D— I received the most thoughtful and caring support from people around the world, and I am still grateful for that to this day. Since finding this application, I have recommended it to every diabetic who I crossed paths with, because everyone should have the opportunity to communicate with an incredible network of people. ### 5/5 — Type 1’s - You Are Not Alone *2018-03-07* This app is home to an amazing community of Type 1’s from all over the world. Great for sharing information, asking questions AND getting real answers, chatting and connecting with others. Most of all it offers support on those days when you need it most. I can’t say enough how awesome it is to have a place to belong without judgement or having to explain “why” all the time. ### 5/5 — Incredible! Every T1 Diabetic should join!! *2018-03-07* The Beyond Type 1 community is truly inspirational. These people are the kindest, most helpful, and most supportive group of diabetics I’ve ever met! I really hope everyone gets a chance to join BT1. I’ve positively come a long way by joining myself. I get to ask questions and for advice and not be ashamed by asking for help. I’ve also connected with other diabetics in my area through the Beyond Type 1 app and through the BT1 Instagram account. I’ve gotten to read articles and tips on how to better manage diabetes and #LIVEBEYOND type 1 diabetes by continuing to do the things I love. This app has helped me come a long way in thinking positively about diabetes and considering amazing opportunities that I normally wouldn’t have. I’ve learned more in these past 2 years than I ever have in all the years of my own experience. The support is great and there is always a positive atmosphere. It’s become an important part of my self care to remain connected to this community. I’m convinced my blood sugar would not be as good as it is today without everyone’s help and support. I have asked questions that have been immediately answered by multiple people, all who know first hand what myself and my son are dealing with. Every time I open it (once in a blue moon, since I haven't found it very helpful) the login process is different. This morning it forced me to create a new login or login via Facebook, so I do the latter. But when I set it to access the minimum information on my Facebook page, it errors out and says it requires more information. Then why did you let me deselect the information you had to have?? Also, it has problem importing content from hyperlinks/URL’s like YouTube.com. ### 2/5 — Doesn’t load which is too bad as I liked this app *2018-12-04* The last time I was on it, it loaded to the sign on page and I was able to get in. Loved the format and everything. Recently came back to discover it doesn’t go to the login page! It just sits there on the loading..tried to reopen, delete and reinstall, reboot phone and still won load. Too bad there isn’t a website version to use at times when you can’t log in.
