But there are maintenance issues at the Centres eg two of the ladies toilets at Bitterne Leisure Centre (dry end) have been out of service for weeks. Classes are sometimes inappropriately replace eg Power Yoga with headstands (!!) instead of Pilates. ### 3/5 — Works but could be better *2025-08-14, version 108.29* It’s good; does the job. Would be nice if you could pay with Apple Pay which you can’t do yet. Doesn’t seem to save the card details when paying despite ticking the box. At 7 am when the list becomes available, there is a waiting list. Pelhams at Kinson is a friendly centre, parking free for a long period of time. There is a small but good cafe. The facilities are clean. In the evenings when there are swimming lessons and there are children’s swimming lessons on, the floor leading to the pool can be very dirty due to parents and children coming in and their shoes are muddy. I can see the lifeguards cleaning the floor during the aqua session I do however. ### 2/5 — Very hard work *2024-01-04, version 107.17* I find it really difficult to switch clubs. Often I can’t find the clubs I want to book for. Every time I get a notification it jump scares me because it looks like it’s an app for the hub of the p. It’s made me paranoid that someone’s going to see it at a glance and think the same. I’ve already had to explain to a few friends and my parents that it’s NOT what it looks like- it’s super awkward when you’ve got an app with the same colouring and font style as ‘hub’ as the logo. I mean, did no one see this and think ‘hey maybe we should change that so our app logo doesn’t look almost identical to an adult site?’ Again, app is good but the heart attacks it keeps giving me when I see the logo appear with notifications plummet the score way down. Honestly if I didn’t NEED to use the app to book things at my local gym, I wouldn’t use it solely because of the logo. ### 3/5 — Love Stokewood *2022-12-04, version 5.116* Stokewood is a great leisure centre ..Old but perfectly formed ,adjusting to the new sauna regime but I understand as we all have to tighten our belts at this time,Only issue I have and I know others have is that when we finish our Aqua class there is now a 30 minute wait for a swim Where as before we could stay in the pool,I know I for one get very cold waiting for the pool to open .I am a member and always went on for a swim I feel this is not a good move especially in this cold weather ..Also there are people who swim in a way that is aggressive and hit other swimmers Every time I go swimming and this swimmer is in the pool I see that they hit people with their swimming.But the lifeguard never tell them to swim in the lanes I have friends who do not swim when this lady is swimming as she is usually there 18.00 It is like people are afraid to approach her !!Yes I have complained to staff ,she still doing her aggressive swimming ### 1/5 — Website is useless and App doesn’t work *2022-08-12, version 5.94* The website has been designed to literally be the least efficient mode of communication I’ve ever seen. The app is riddled with glitches to the point of not being able to even book a session or register for an account. Have spoken to BHLive but it’s like the IT team don’t exist and are unable to rectify any softwear issues and although frontline staff are very help sympathetic and aware members have problems ( not just me ) no one seems to be able to get IT staff to do their job . Still unable to use my App ### 1/5 — Unable to manage bookings *2022-03-08, version 5.50.1* The “Manage Bookings” part of the app never works. We then receive e-mails because we failed to cancel a reserved session but we aren’t able to do it on the app and no one ever answers the phone so as long as the app continues broken we will continue not cancelling sessions that we can’t attend ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Too many glitches *2026-02-04, version 109.34* Despite having the app and notifications on, every now and then it start sending emails instead. Thus you miss the classes you want. ### 1/5 — Terrible app *2025-11-22, version 109.34* It’s almost impossible to find what you’re looking for. The search facility is absolute madness. You can’t search my keyword. You have to know what category your classes banded under. There are no contact details for the gym you’re wanting to speak to. You can’t add another membership to your login easily (for families). Even though I have a membership depending on how I access the search facility, for example through the calendar, they still try to charge me to book. The whole thing needs complete overhaul. Where is the option for leisure cards too ? ### 1/5 — Class booking Nightmare! *2024-05-21, version 107.61* Took ten minutes to book two classes this morning at 7am! Ridiculous! The system kept saying error or timed out. The booking system is not fit for purpose & cannot cope with the amount of people booking at the same time. It never used to be like this when you used to book a class with the previous system which did not mean you had to get up by 7am just to book a space. Have given the same review previously & everyone in my classes says the same but obviously the system will Never change so we just have to put up with it!!! It’s VERY stressful just trying to book a class & so unnecessary as the system need not be like this!
