I dont know how unstable it can be 
Regularly use this app but once in a while it automatically logs out of the account and comes to the initial setup page . Even now when I am giving my initial details and mobile device to sms binding it says connection unsuccessful. Tried many days with restarting ,uninstalling app flight mode etc . Kindly do fix or remove the app from store

I am still trying to be loyal to SBI, but payment failures and crashes makes it hard to use the app. Please fix the connection error issue. It is embarrassing many times I have to switch to another UPI app to complete the purchase.

Update Jun 2026: Still same problem exists. I always have to have a backup UPI payment. Why does it say I have to upgrade even though I have the latest version. When I click update, it just hangs.

On opening the app it prompts for update. If update option is selected, the App Store link opens and directly “Open” button is displayed in the app link. On clicking open button, the app fails to open and “Loading data” message is displayed. The app doesn’t respond further.
After closing the app, when opened again the same update is prompted as earlier; means there is no updates which is installed. 
Look into the matter and resolve the issue. 
I had already faced the same issue during earlier update release. I had to uninstall the app and reinstall the app.

The app still need to be updated, there is communication error at every time of opening, selecting or scanning merchant, payment. It doesn’t support dynamic QR payments. History is unavailable most of times, merchant name isn’t available on payment history, shows only vpa details. Very much disappointing app on iOS platform. Needs to be improved on immediate basis.

Very good upi app but it sometimes error no network while accepting requesting payments in notification or while I conforming the payment error. So need improvement

I was having issues with upi payment on YONO therefore I tried to switch to SBI pay BHIM. After completing the verification process successfully the app closed by itself. However the app won’t let me log in and says that my device is blocked. I contacted customer care who said that my account and my upi status is active. They said that the issue might be with the app. Now I can’t use either YONO or sbi pay bhim to make a upi payment. While YONO just crashes by itself while trying to make a upi payment, this one doesn’t even let me enter the app homepage even after successful verification.

When I tried to register I am not able to register. After receiving OTP normally it will appear in the app window itself. But in this case I have to minimize that s app and open SMS message app to read the OTP. When I come back to the app to enter OTP in the specified field in the app I get a pop up message that minimizing the app is not allowed while registering. Then how to read the OTP?

The BHIM SBI Pay app feels severely outdated and poorly designed, especially on iOS. The developer seems to have completely overlooked the basics of user experience and modern mobile security practices. Here are a few major issues:
	1.	No SMS Autofill or Read Permission
The app doesn’t use iOS’s secure OTP autofill feature. Instead, it forces users to manually copy OTPs from SMS — which is completely avoidable. It’s 2025, and most apps get this right. It’s baffling that a banking app lags behind in such a critical area.
	2.	Forced Minimization
When trying to read an SMS or switch apps temporarily, the app either logs you out or restarts the session. This is a terrible user experience and makes tasks unnecessarily frustrating.
	3.	No Respect for iOS Ecosystem
The app seems like it was developed with Android-first thinking, with no adaptation or respect for iOS-specific capabilities like secure SMS reading, Face ID integration, or proper multitasking support. The assumption that iOS lacks security features is just wrong — Apple has its own robust and secure methods that don’t require such clumsy workarounds.
	4.	Clunky Design and Navigation
Compared to modern UPI apps like PhonePe or Google Pay, this app is sluggish, confusing, and filled with redundant steps.

This banking app is a nightmare to use. Every time I try to read the OTP or switch to another appit treats it as a failed attempt and with only three chances it asks to attempt after 24 hours. I’ve been trying to register for three days, but it keeps saying my Aadhaar details are not found even though my Aadhaar is already linked to my account and attempt with debit card details is also failing. 

On top of that, once a device is recognized why does the app keep forcing me to send an SMS repeatedly from my registered mobile. It’s unnecessary and frustrating. A banking app should make things easier not harder.

Worst app ever. Same like SBI branch, it doesn’t work. Wonder how much corruption is being done in the name of app building which doesn’t do the basic thing. Trying to setup the app on my iPhone, first it doesn’t deliver OTP, once OTP came, after doing so many steps of Aadhaar authentication, everything successfully, it comes back to initial setup window again. What the heck is this!!

The SBI Pay app currently does not allow successful registration for NRI customers using international mobile numbers, even when those numbers are already registered with the bank. In my case, as a customer in the UAE, the app fails to complete registration for an unknown reason, likely due to a technical glitch. This issue prevents NRI customers from accessing and using UPI services through the SBI Pay application. Please resolve this registration problem so international users can fully utilize the app.

On iOS 26.4.2 I was prompted to register again due to inactivity for 5 months. But I am getting communication error and try again. After 3 attempts, I am asked to try after 24 hours. Why this communication error after sending the verification SMS? I am using iPhone 17 Pro Max. Software updates are up to date. I even deleted the app and reinstalled. But the problem continues.

During registration the app doesn’t allow to be minimized, but requires to enter OTP. Now someone tell the sbi geniuses that in order to read OTP from my message app I have to minimize the SBI app. Tried to enter OTP 2-3 times, could not do it without opening the messages app. Now I am getting error that maximum number of attempts reached for 24 hours. In the name of security these dumb sarkaari babus can make kind of policy without thinking of its consequences. I think no one from SBI itself uses this app.
