## What is BibleKeep?

The Bible, explained in plain words. BibleKeep teaches one small lesson a day: read the passage, then hear what happened, what it meant, and what it asks of you, the way a good pastor would on a Sunday. Five quiet minutes, nineteen hand-written paths, one hundred and thirty-three lessons, made for beginners and fresh starts, and everything stays on your iPhone.

AT A GLANCE
• What it is: a daily Bible lesson app for beginners. One passage a day, then explained in plain words, from the Berean Standard Bible.
• For: people new to the Bible, coming back to it, or who never had it explained.
• Price: every lesson is free. One optional one-time Plus purchase. No subscription.
• Privacy: no account, no ads, no AI chat, nothing collected. Everything stays on your iPhone. Works offline.
• Language: English. Made by one person in the US.

READ IT, THEN HEAR IT EXPLAINED
Every lesson reads the passage itself, straight from the Berean Standard Bible, then explains it in plain words: what happened, what it meant to the people who first heard it, and what it asks of you today. Underlined words explain themselves, and any verse with a note opens with a tap.

SIXTEEN PATHS, IN YOUR ORDER
The Heart of the Father. The Grace That Forgives. Learning to Rest. Teach Us to Pray. Songs for the Valley. Who Is This Man? Learning to Love. Do Not Be Afraid. New Every Morning. Who You Are Now. Wisdom for the Week. The Stories He Told. In the Beginning. Walking Through Grief. The Waiting (Advent). The Hard Questions. Each path is seven lessons. Walk them in whatever order your life needs, at your own pace. Nothing is date-locked, and nothing scolds you for a missed day.

THE HARD QUESTIONS
Why does God allow suffering? Is the Bible reliable? Is Genesis literal? What if I still have doubts? Seven honest lessons for the questions people are afraid to ask in church. No scolding, no pretending, and no AI.

READ IT AS A STORY
For the curious or the unsure, one switch keeps the passage, the history and the teaching and sets aside the prayers and check-ins. Read the Bible the way you would read any great book, and turn it off whenever you like.

YOUR WINDOW, ON YOUR HOME SCREEN
Every lesson you keep lights a pane in a stained-glass window, and the window keeps its light. Widgets put that window on your Home Screen and Lock Screen, exactly as it looks in the app, with today's lesson beneath it. A verse-of-the-day widget too.

A PATH FOR EVERY SEASON
The light through the glass follows the church year: violet in Advent, white and gold at Christmas and Easter, purple in Lent, red at Pentecost, with one plain sentence explaining each season. From the first Sunday of Advent, BibleKeep offers The Waiting, seven days for the four weeks before Christmas, on its own.

A LESSON, NOT A QUIZ SHOW
Each lesson opens with the story behind the passage, reads it, teaches it, checks that it landed with one gentle question, and closes in prayer and a blessing. No points, no gems, no streak shaming.

YOUR SANCTUARY AND YOUR CALENDAR
Light a candle for someone you are praying for; it burns until you mark the prayer answered. See every day you walked on a simple calendar and reread what you kept. Missed days are just quiet days.

FINDING GOD
If you have never asked how to know Him, a standing lesson walks you gently to that prayer. It is always one tap away, for you or for a friend.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t keep your place

*2026-10-07*

For the past few days, every time I open the app it’s like I didn’t do the last lesson, and to continue I have to click through it a second time to get to the next one. Then the next day it’s the same. Very annoying.

**Developer response:** Thank you for telling me, and I'm sorry for the annoyance. You found a real bug. A lesson was only being saved when you tapped "Return to your day" on the final "Go in peace" screen, so leaving the app from that screen lost the day. Until the fix is out, tapping "Return to your day" before you close the app will keep your place. The next update saves the lesson the moment you finish the last card.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.10.1 — 2026-10-13

Your place is kept. A finished lesson is now saved the moment you pass its last card. Before, leaving the app on "Go in peace" could lose the day, and the lesson came back unfinished the next morning. A reader wrote to tell us; thank you. If that happened to you, this update puts it right.

### 1.10.0 — 2026-10-12

Three new paths. The Third Day: seven days with the risen Jesus, from the empty tomb to breakfast on the beach. The Fire Spreads: Acts for beginners, how a frightened room became the church. Out of Egypt: Exodus for beginners, from a bush that does not burn up to God saying His own name. Twenty-one lessons, every verse checked against the text.

### 1.9.2 — 2026-10-01

A clearer name on the App Store, and a few small fixes. Every lesson is still free.

### 1.9.1 — 2026-09-30

The verse widget, readable. Long verses no longer get cut off: the small widget shows the verse's first line, and the medium and large widgets carry the whole verse with room to breathe.

### 1.9.0 — 2026-09-24

Your window, on your Home Screen: the window you are lighting, exactly as it looks in the app, with today's lesson beneath it and the church year's light through the glass. Small, medium, large, and Lock Screen, plus a verse-of-the-day widget.
The Waiting: seven days of Advent. From the first Sunday of Advent, Today offers it on its own.
The Hard Questions: why does God allow suffering, is Genesis literal, what if I still doubt. Seven honest lessons for the questions people are afraid to ask in church.
Read it as a story: a switch in Settings for the curious or the unsure. The passage, the history and the teaching, without the prayers.
Truer reminders: no more "your window is complete" while panes remain. And you can rate BibleKeep from Settings, if it has helped.
