### 4/5 — Please Update!

*2019-10-30, version 2.5.7*

I LOVE THIS APP!! Please Update it again, I miss it!

### 3/5 — App not working anymore

*2019-10-24, version 2.5.7*

I have used this app for years and think it’s the best scripture memory app around! But over the last couple of weeks the app won’t let me add new verses. The app support doesn’t work and their website contact info is not available. I would love to see this app fixed, but I don’t know how to report an issue. Hopefully someone sees this!

### 3/5 — Great study tools, several bible versions, bugs

*2019-01-23, version 2.5.7*

Love the easy use and that I have access to a few bible versions. The study tools include 4 options and the layout is easy. However, I have trouble with the app as it seems to freeze on me or not want to load. I don’t think it’s a connection issue but I could be wrong as this last time it stated that it couldn’t connect to the internet. I was hoping for something that I could use anywhere anytime and not need to connect to Internet or use data for that matter.

### 3/5 — Part of app not working

*2018-08-10, version 2.5.7*

For whatever reason I’m not able to sync. When I turn the button, nothing happens, just a blank page. And I’m not able to access the Bible plans at all. If there is an answer to this problem, please let me know. I like the cards and the ability to test myself.

### 4/5 — Basic, simple, easy to use

*2018-01-27, version 2.5.7*

Not too many bells and whistles, but simple and easy to use. Just getting started on it, so will see how it holds up. Various translations available. "Study modes" are not hugely helpful.

### 4/5 — Just got this app

*2017-08-14, version 2.5.7*

Just got this app so this is not a very in depth review: I really like the idea of this. I like memorizing bible verses but keep running out of paper to write them on, if you get what I mean. The only think is that there aren't as many versions as a I thought on here. My bible is in NKJV and I'd like to see that on there. Thank you for this though!

### 3/5 — Want to like...

*2016-06-03, version 2.5.7*

I want to like this app. Needs editable categories, and there is a problem when adding a verse from the NASB. When I add 1 John 5:11-12 from the NASB it adds the first line from verse 13 as well.

### 4/5 — Close, but

*2016-03-13, version 2.5.7*

Can sync with other devices now--great addition.

It would be even better if verses could be grouped or categorized somehow. (Think along the lines of the Topical Memory System.)
The current version is crash-prone on iPad 4, but it works well on iPhone 5s.

### 3/5 — Okay. Could be more user friendly.

*2015-05-07, version 2.5.4*

Good so far. I've had this app for 10 minutes. 2 things off the bat I'm naturally trying to do with the app but can't. In flash card mode, am trying to swipe left and right or up and up to change to the next or previous verse in my list.

Second thing, would prefer that touch options or scrolling wheels be made available to make selecting the verse I want to add to my list easier instead of having to use the keyboard to do so. Switching between keyboards for letters and numbers and using the colon is cumbersome.

Thanks so much and I am looking forward to getting started with this app!!

### 3/5 — Keep the main thing the main thing

*2015-03-20, version 2.5.1*

There are some really nice ancillary features to this app - multiple plans, multiple versions, tie ins to popular sets of verses. However, the core functionality of memorization and basic navigation are sorely lacking. Basic features like a "home" action are missing...it was easier to stop the app and restart than try to figure out the UI. Developers, be encouraged by your attempt, but please spend more time learning how we memorize and build the app around that activity. The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing.

### 4/5 — This app is excellent, though I'd like to see one feature

*2015-02-10, version 2.5.1*

Lovelovelove this app!! It is very helpful with memorizing scripture, especially all the different ways to learn it. The only thing id really like to see is the ability to put in bigger amounts of scripture. Right now, you can do that but the functionality of the app goes way down (like only having a couple of blank spaces to plug in words and making word choosing very difficult). For now, I will continue using remember me, but if this change is made, I'll be back!

### 4/5 — I like it, but I hope for more functionality in the near future.

*2014-11-17, version 2.5.1*

This is a useful tool for aiding my ability to memorize Bible verses and passages. I like the features that it presently has, especially the test that makes me write the passage I am trying to memorize verbatim. That being said, there are definitely some new features that I would like to see added as soon as possible. For example, I have already passed the tests for Rev 1:1, 1:2, and 1:3 individually. After those three individual verses were added to my review list, I decided to add Rev. 1:1-3 all together, but now my review section has one card for the three verses together and three more for the individual verses, and I can't delete any of them. Please allow me to delete verses. Thank you and God bless.

### 4/5 — Excellent for AWANA!

*2014-10-12, version 2.5.1*

I'm a AWANA Journey leader and found the app at their recommendation. (So far) I am really excited about the possibilities that this affords my students for their endeavors. I really wish I could make a list and share them with our group, but being able to do this on an individual basis is still wonderful. So many translations to choose from, I'm thrilled. And for free.

### 4/5 — Simple and Appealing

*2014-07-15, version 2.4.7*

I really like this app; it's aesthetically pleasing, there are multiple Bible versions to choose from, and more than one way to study the verses (which can vary from one to a whole passage on one flashcard).
I just wish that the Take the Test button wasn't in the way. The Choose the Words study mode is the worst at this. I keep accidentally hitting the Test button at the bottom because the screen moves down and that's also where the word bank is. When I accidentally hit the Test button, it takes me away from the Choosing Words study mode and I lose my place. It's a bit of a bummer.
Otherwise, I'm pleased with the app. I like that there's a review section. I kind of wish that I could categorize and make separate lists for verses so I can keep them all straight.
Cool. Thanks.

### 4/5 — Enjoying this App!

*2014-02-11, version 2.4.1*

I am a staff member of The Navigators and have been memorizing the Topical Memory System (TMS) since college. This app is one of the most well laid out memorizing apps I have found. I also appreciate the multiple methods for review. The two features that would give it the same flexibility as using paper cards would be 1) the ability to create groups of verses to review at varying intervals and 2) having a means of tallying the number of times you have correctly reviewed a verse. These are two things that I can do with paper cards that I would love to have digitally. Thanks for the app!

### 4/5 — Could be improved

*2014-01-14, version 2.4.0*

This app really needs a way to archive verses you've memorized rather than having to delete. My list is huge!! Other ways to improve: add sorting options for list of verses; add label options for topic of verse; allow user to choose size of font; allow user to set app to remember what verse you were selecting on search (usually I'm just modifying verse number and don't want to retype). :)

### 4/5 — Great app so far. Wish it had couple more options.

*2013-07-16, version 2.3.2*

First of all, I really like this app.

Features I like:
- customize your verses
- popular bible version selections
- helpful study & test modes
- aesthetically pleasing layouts

Features that are needed:
- a way to group different verses together
- be able to switch memory verse orders
- progress for non-plan verses

Wishful features that I can only dream of:
- change font or font size, highlight, or bold, italicize, or change color of the text
- share personalized memory verse plans with another friend and possibly their progress

Conclusion:
Overall, I'm so thankful towards ASB and their app developers for making this app. I've been looking for something like this for years. I hope that they sense my appreciation for this app and I also hope that they can make this app even more awesome. :)

### 4/5 — Good, but another issue

*2013-06-14, version 2.3*

So, you guys fixed the NIV part, and let me put in my own text, which I am pleased with. But I learn by filling in the blanks, and I wish that the part where the app does that would have buttons to add or subtract blanks. Press the plus button, and it adds more blanks, press the minus button, and it subtracts blanks.
Otherwise, it's a great app!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Please update!!!

*2019-11-19, version 2.5.7*

I loved this bible memorization app, then updated my phone to 13ios and the app no longer works. I have deleted and reloaded numerous times to no avail. Please, please update the app American Bible Society.

### 1/5 — Disappointing:(

*2018-06-12, version 2.5.7*

Was really excited to use this app, however I downloaded it twice and it is not working at all. Continues to say that it cannot connect to the internet but all other apps are working. This could be a great app, but unfortunately I will be downloading an alternative.

### 1/5 — Doesn't work

*2017-06-04, version 2.5.7*

Just says unable to connect to internet with every search. Every other app I'm on is connected to the Internet just fine.

### 1/5 — Please fix!

*2017-01-20, version 2.5.7*

I was so excited to download this app and get to memorizing when first off KJVA is the only KJV available. Then I looked under English (British) and found KJV...Yay, right? Wrong! The version is inaccurate...The verses do not read actually! Please fix this! I want to recommend this app to other people and actually USE it! God bless you for your efforts!

### 1/5 — Previous version much better!!

*2013-04-15, version 2.1*

Most of the options I used in the previous version are gone - multi users (which I used to group different verses together), being able to review by saying the verse, and several other options. Now I can't get even the most basic functions to work like marking a verse as memorized and setting how often to review! Plus I lost all the verses I had learned last year because I had them under a different user! I will be finding a new app to use.

### 1/5 — Previous Version Requested

*2013-04-15, version 2.1*

New version is not working at all. Just the screen with an open Bible. Even if it did work, the updated version is unsuitable for many many reasons. Please consider making the previous version available for purchase. Have deleted and reinstalled the update several times to no avail. Would have rather been memorizing scripture. If the previous version isn't available even for purchase, I'll go back to index cards. Thanks for the memorized scripture I have from the previous version! Had hoped to go the distance with this app. Thanks for what benefit I did have!

### 2/5 — Is something wrong?

*2019-10-21, version 2.5.7*

I love this app! But over the last 2-3 weeks, I have not been able to add any new verses or to get into the support forum. Is anyone else having problems? I have been using this app for over five years, and although there are a few things I would change, it is really VERY useful. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I recommend it to all my friends! But I’m always afraid that someday the developer will abandon it. I hope it’s being fixed - but if no one else is having problems, I should look for a different solution.

### 2/5 — Crash

*2016-05-12, version 2.5.7*

This keep crashing I can't even get on it do buy it

### 2/5 — Great concept, but needs some adjustments

*2014-02-04, version 2.4.1*

First, the pros:

-Multiple translations to choose from and ability to set default translation
-Ability to choose any verse(s) or chapter from scripture
-Design (color, font, layout, gestures) easy to read/use and pleasing to the eye
-Multiple study modes
-Test in which you type the whole verse without prompts
-The "choose one" study mode works perfectly

Now, the cons:

-Optimization for iPhone 5 means that the "Take the Test" function is unusable one earlier versions of the iPhone. With a verse that is longer than 3 lines, the keyboard blocks the user's view of what is being typed--and the app doesn't appear to have any way to scroll down
-If more than one verse is being memorized (I often do 2-4 together), the app does not notate where one verse ends and the other begins
-The "fill-in" study mode seems to choose the same couple of words from the beginning of the verses every time

### 2/5 — Disappointed in update. Went Backwards!

*2013-05-11, version 2.3*

The previous version was five stars! Like the look and the my verses page of this one. But I liked the previous version more. I appreciated that there was the potential for more than one user. Both I and my nine year old daughter had our own scriptures with our picture and name to identify us. Definitely went backwards with this update. Really disappointed cause I loved the precious one.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Directional

*2017-09-11, version 2.5.7*

I love this app, however I wish I could change the direction of the app. It only works in portrait mode and I use almost exclusively landscape mode with my iPad and it's case and wish it could change directions.

### 5/5 — Great Scripture Memory Aid

*2016-12-22, version 2.5.7*

This app makes Scripture memory easy and accessible from anywhere! There are various study modes and once you "take the test", verses are automatically moved to a "Review" section for future practice. I'm thankful for an easy-to-use app that makes memorizing the Word of God easy!

### 5/5 — Other translations have returned!

*2015-10-18, version 2.5.4*

I'd previously giving a bit of a stern review due to many translations being taken down (due to their needing to work with a variety of publishers over copyright issues), but with the return of my beloved NASB (as well as many others!) I want to encourage the developers, and you as a potential user, with 5 stars.

This was one of 3 tools I used to help memorize 1 Peter, chapters 1 & 2.

### 5/5 — Helping us take that next step...

*2014-07-15, version 2.4.7*

Really great app! The layout is modern and easy to use. The different options for studying are effective. Thanks for making this available to everyone who wants to grow in their faith by memorizing scripture.

### 5/5 — Helpful App

*2013-08-30, version 2.3.4*

Just downloaded this app as a referral from a friend. Seems very helpful. I like how it gives real time feedback as you type in the verse in the Test mode. Or if possible on your phone, you can speak it in. Doesn't have NKJV which is one of my favorites but has most other modern and popular translations (KJV, NIV, NASB, ESV, CEV, etc). Nice app!!!

### 5/5 — Most recent version

*2013-05-13, version 2.3*

I appreciate the new UI it's very intuitive and makes for easy memorization of scripture. One thing I might want to see in future updates would be the ability for a login mechanism so that scriptures can be synced on multiple users iOS devices. Lastly, maybe a share button to let friends and family know about the app.

### 5/5 — Love this upgrade!

*2013-04-19, version 2.2*

I use the versions supplied so I don't miss the NIV. I had been dumping my verses over into the review section to use the methods there for memorizing. The new upgrade has all of those methods available in both memory and review. Great. I use everything technique possible to get the verses into my head. It doesn't seem as easy to memorize as it was fifty years ago. I admit that I am fond of using the CEB for the younger students in my Sunday school class. We spend more time on what the verse means, and less in translating Jacobean English to words they understand. I teach K-4. Most of my memory work is KJV with some in ESV.

### 5/5 — Incredibly improved!

*2013-04-06, version 2.0*

This app was good, but was slow and full of bugs, but with the new update it is fast and easier to use! Great improvement!!!
I love the new design. Way to go guys!
Only thought of improvement is that when you are typing in a verse to memorize, if you hit done instead of search, the keyboard disappears and there isn't a search button, so you have to click back in the search box and then hit search. A small hassle, but it doesn't lower the quality of the app from a five star. I am just lazy and like thing to be super efficient.

### 5/5 — Usable & helpful

*2013-03-25, version 1.09*

5 stars for an excellent free Bible memory verse program. You can add your own passage & even use your own voice, or choose from an existing list, add a photo to help kids choose theirs, use a different version, set a reminder, then review by flash card or type it or fill in blanks or record it. There is an intro tutorial. Awesome! Thanks & God bless this ministry.

### 5/5 — Best app out there

*2013-02-13, version 1.09*

This is the best bible memorization app I have come across. You don't have to type in the verse yourself. It gives you options for versions. The reminders to review are the most helpful feature of the tool. It is one thing to memorize a verse. It is another to retain it. This app is perfect for retaining. In addition, it provides a variety of suggested verses to memorize if you don't know where to start as well as a variety of memorization and review techniques (verbal, mental, auditory, written, etc)
