### 4/5 — Having some trouble

*2012-12-01*

I LOVE this and use it every day but I am having trouble with the daily readings which require Internet. I always get the message that I am not connected to the internet but I am through both wifi and cellular. This feature has always worked for me before so I am confused why it doesn't work now. Is this a bug that needs fixing? Please help!

### 4/5 — Not bad but crummy search engine.

*2010-11-07, version 0*

Not bad but crummy search engine. Hight-light mode difficult to use. Some bugs.

### 5/5 — Excellent!!!!

*2009-07-26*

Biblescope is the cutting edge of Iphone Bible apps. With the addition of side-by-side note taking, this app is essential to any Iphone user who takes their Christian life seriously. So much time is wasted switching between notes and scripture but Biblescope solved that problem. This app is definitely a testament to Christian excellence. Thank you Kenny.

### 4/5 — Pros & Cons

*2009-07-05*

This is a great app and I use it on a daily basis, I got the update but can still see room for improvement.

Pro's
Key word search
Easy to use menu
Notes
Bookmarks
Highlight Mode

Con's
I would like highlight mode to be able to select seperate words and not just the whole verse.

I did the update and John3:22-36 is in small text, anyone have this problem? Please fix

### 5/5 — Best Bible APP

*2009-04-09, version 0*

Will spend $30 or more on a meal. A great value for all versions of the words of Our LORD. WWJD

### 5/5 — Multiple Features, Multiple Books, Maps, Commentaries, Easy to Use & Customize, Expandable

*2009-03-14*

Lots of ways to customize. Does do highlighting despite comment by another reviewer. Just tap the verse number and up pops a menu to highlight in one of 5 colors. Can change fonts and size. Scroll by up/down with finger slide. Chapter forward/reverse by left/right finger slide. Can clear the screen of top/bottom options by single tap in center. returns with another tap. Nice to have multiple books and can place side by side or top to bottom. If you prefer one book but your church uses another during Bible study then you can switch from your favorite and read from it then go back to your favorite or have both open side by side. Can store notes from Bible study. Search feature is user friendly. Selection of background colors, menu colors, etc. This is a well-thought-out app that takes advantage of the iPod Touch or iPhone user interface. No on-line connection needed. You can add more to it as time goes by. It's nice to have the Bible with me in such a small package. Now I have my Bible in places I normally wouldn't carry it. Waiting at the doctor's office or sitting in the car waiting on Johnny to finish practice? You can just pull it out and read. Very handy. I have used another electronic Bible for many years in my PDA and even though it is nice I find this app so much nicer with many more features. Finally, the version with NIV, The Message and ERV along with TNIV and NIRV consume less than 26MB on my 8GB iPod Touch. This equates to 10 or 12 songs. You do not need to worry about the space required on your device. I strongly suggest you take less than 10% of the cost of an 8GB iPod Touch and buy this app!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2009-03-07*

I see the developer(s) have put in a wholehearted effort into making this app great, paid attention to details, and continue to provide excellent user support. I emailed them a question late one night and it was answered the next morning. Other details:
- as advertised, you get both NIV and the Message...(the steep price goes to the copyrights).  You also get Extras, which were not advertised at the time of writing, and i won't disclose them here;
- for those who read Chinese, Chinese Union version is now available for free download, and you can split the screen and cross-compare it with another version;
-There are other free apps and websites that offer online bible, so if you don't foresee yourself reading the Bible offline, then you may not require this app.
-Bug: after setting up the split-screen mode, the app does not return to the split-screen mode next time it starts.

Update: the developer removed his name from the splash screen.

Overall I recommend this app.

### 5/5 — Changes

*2009-03-05, version 0*

Great app. I love the new verse number thing on the side makes digital reading much more pleasurable than I personally have ever experienced before.

### 5/5 — Great Bible Resource

*2009-01-18*

This is the best Bible app I've ever tried. It's intuitive and customizes well. I like the bookmark and note features. The split screen option is great for study. This app is well worth the money. Excellent job!

### 5/5 — Awesome Bible

*2009-01-16*

I have been waiting for this app since I got my iPod touch. The free versions are great but not when you don't have WiFi.

It is hard to find a Bible app that includes the versions I wanted but BibleScope has done it.

All the features are great too. Everything from daily reading to total customization. I can't wait to see what new features they come out with in the future.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Looks horrible on iPhone X

*2018-10-02*

This used to be my favourite bible app, but it has no support for the iPhone X screen and is very buggy in iOS 12 even after the so called “iOS 12 update” .. Considering how much I spent on the app buying all the extra translations and unlocking every feature it offers, I was hoping for better and faster update service. Sad to see the developer giving up on what used to be the best bible app in the App Store.

### 1/5 — No Family Sharing

*2016-10-23, version 5.6.2*

I paid $22+ and now I find it is not able to be shared with my wife via Family Sharing. DO NOT BUY !!!

### 1/5 — Doesn

*2009-12-18, version 0*

I purchased this and it doesn't work with my touch even though the description says it does. an error message pops up saying I need 'Iphone OS'. Looking for some support to see how to fix it.

### 2/5 — Trouble with advertised features.

*2017-02-28, version 5.6.3*

I can not copy and share to Facebook or text other people. I can even get to customer service. I would not buy the app.

### 2/5 — Wonderful Bible App

*2014-04-12, version 5.3.2*

by: Dr. D. Thompson - April 12, 2012
This is a wonderful app and well worth the money. I am disappointed in the loss of the NIV 1984 version of the Bible. Please get this version back as soon as possible. Once in place, this is a five-star product again.

### 2/5 — Tons of glitches. :-(

*2010-06-27*

Was really hoping to be able to write a nice review for any app that promotes reading the Bible. But this is not the one. Must say, I'm a bit disappointed. Can't always depend on the borders going away after tapping the screen, and the minimize maximize function rarely works. Those are like the two most important things when trying to read a Bible passage, imo.

Also, sometimes it book marks my passage if I'm kicked out of the screen due to time or whatever. And other times, I have to go look up the verses again. Makes it a bit cumbersome when trying to follow a sermon while in church.

I would recommend shopping around a bit before settling on this app. Hopefully, the authors are looking at some serious upgrading, and soon!

Disappointed overall.

### 2/5 — Emailing notes good idea, awful execution.

*2009-01-26*

Emailing notes truncates after so many characters (useless!), and includes ALL notes, not merely one note! So, when I want to email a note to my Evernote address, it starts with Genesis 1:1 & then cuts off what I really want to send. Like a cruel joke, a tease. Would also like folders for bookmarks-- to categorize, organize. Mantis has better interface, but not TNIV. So I got this. Can't really recommend unless lack of TNIV a deal-breaker.

### 3/5 — Love this Bible... But

*2015-08-27*

This has been my "go to" Bible on both the iPad and my iPhone for years and it has rarely let me down. But I noticed a glitch with the NLT in that the verses won't highlight, so I went to the website. That's when I noticed that the latest version is 5.4 and my app is still at 5.1.6. on both devices. Further, the website is totally unresponsive except for showing my notes. What's going on?

### 3/5 — Fantastic value!

*2010-06-13*

Many bible programs are quite expensive with you paying for each and every bit and translation. This app gives many versions with it plus devotionals, a dictionary, Strong's numbers and more. I LOVE IT!

### 3/5 — I wanted to love

*2010-06-01*

this application as these are my two favorite versions of the Bible. But I am having trouble with a couple of things. The words of Christ are not in red, nor will they go to red, or any of the offered colors when I try thru settings, and it will not automatically go to landscape mode, tho I have it set to do so. It was not as intuitive as a free bible download I have. I am hoping for improvement in future updates. It is a very expensive application to have these problems.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Excellent & Wow! (11/11/15 update)

*2015-11-15, version 5.5.0*

Post-Nov. 11, 2015 update:
fantastic! Really. Way to go, whoever was responsible. All nice touches.

Earlier review (updated a little):
Very good app, though every now and then some strange freeze-up, only fixable by deleting and re-downloading. (Maybe turning phone off/on woulda fixed it. Dunno.) - Switching how I was holding iPhone - to "landscape" orientation, then back to "portrait" position - cleared it up, last time. Simple.

But, overall, great app.
(I'm on an iPhone 5, runnin' iOS 8.1.3, I think it is - held off on iOS 8.2 and 8.3 upgrades.)

### 5/5 — Biblescope

*2012-06-03, version 5.1.2*

A very goog user interface, very responsive, results of your searches are displayed before you expect them, very satisfied, keep improving it!

### 5/5 — Everyone should have this app.

*2011-12-25*

I have never submitted a review of any product or app before, however feel compelled to do so with this app. This app has been life-changing for me. To have always at my side, the complete bible in a very convenient and readily accessible form on my iPhone, without having to carry around the actual book itself, has dramatically simplified my daily bible study. The ability to quickly and effortlessly change from one version to the next and to quickly jump to referenced passages, has helped me to achieve a deeper understanding of the scriptures, even ones that had been previously confusing. The ability to easily and conveniently bookmark passages and take notes with the note taking feature, has allowed me to be more organized in my study efforts. This app is so easy to use, and of course always keeps your place for you, enabling you to pick up and start reading right where you left off, even if you have only a few minutes here or there throughout the day to read it. I have never experienced a failure in the app to work properly, and OS upgrades and even transfers to new iPhones have taken place flawlessly, even my notes and bookmarks have always been preserved and maintained. This app has been so helpful in my efforts to read, study and understand the bible, that I wish everyone could also have it and likewise benefit from it. I have given all of my family members this app as a gift, in hopes that it can do for them what it has done for me. Hopefully, it can do the same for you. God bless!

### 5/5 — Best Bible App

*2011-07-04*

I have played with a few other Bible apps but have not found one that has all the translations I want as well as languages in one. And now with the iPad and being able to see two Bibles side by side it is amazing!

### 5/5 — It's not Olive Tree

*2010-04-30*

Ok, right off the bat, it's not Olive Tree (Bible software), and if that's what you're expecting, you'll be let down. But here's the thing ... youll be let down A LITTLE. For the money, this is a great remedial Bible app.

For $30, you get a LOT. The KJV with Strong's is, excuse me, FREE with the app, as are quite a few other references. The Byzantine Greek text is also yours for the taking. Nice touch.

Admittedly, the interface is a little clunky. The search function is underpowered ... I need my Boolean tools! It feels like they kind of rushed to get it out, but I, for one, am glad they did. And, it's entirely possible that from this platform, this app can become every bit as good as "that other one".

As a looong time OTBS user, I freely admit, I love this app, and I'm very glad I got it.

### 5/5 — Worth it!

*2010-03-08*

I purchased the app when it first came out and since then there have been a bunch of good updates. Easy to use, and very handy. I love having many different versions of the Bible with me at all times.

### 5/5 — Great Bible App!!

*2009-09-28*

After the 3.0.1 update, i still can't download easton's bible dictionary. It says it is included but i can't find it. I deleted this app and downloaded it several times but still...no Easton's Bible Dictionary. It's still loading so slow...unlike Paul Every's Holy Bible and Olive Tree NIV Bible Pack where the respose/download time is fast. Please this one need fixing...

This was my previous review:
FMy only concern is the loading time. It is too slow compared to other bible app. Why is it that the Easton's Bible Dictionary was not included in this app?

### 5/5 — Glad I took the plung.

*2009-09-09, version 0*

Best Bible ever. Now you can listen to the Bible in a year on line from this application. How cool is that.

### 5/5 — This Bible application is outstanding!

*2009-08-03*

I tried out several different Bible applications, and this one was by far the best of them all. I love the ability to highlight and make notes. The split screen is really nice when I can have the NIV on the top screen and the NIRV on the bottom screen, so that I can more easily explain scriptures to my children. It's also great to be able to search by key words, in case you want to find a passage of scripture, but can't remember where to look. I would give this application more than 5 stars if it were possible.

### 5/5 — Truly worth the money!!

*2009-08-01*

Thank you for completing my spiritual life with this amazing app! Truly it's the best of best bible app available!!

Suggestions, if possible, i'd like to re-order my bookmarks/notes particularly in the folders. When you have more than 30+ bookmarks it's really a hassle to reenter all of them just because you need certain verse to go ahead of others. And occasionally, to redirect the bible study flow with different people thru all those bookmarks! I'm loving the yearly reading plan. Just wondering if the markings can be by chapters only on top of by dates. So that in case you are on the run and won't be able to finish all 3 or 4 chapters. You can still mark it down at which chapter did you finished and continues on later. Thanks for considering about these in the future updates! ^^

Please keep up the great work! May God continues to inspire and work among you guys to benefit all these users to walk closer with Him!!
