La primera traducción completa de la Biblia al español, publicada en Basilea (Suiza) el 28 de septiembre de 1569 por Casiodoro de Reina. La Biblia del Oso fue traducida a partir de los idiomas originales: hebreo, arameo y griego. 
Biblia Reina-Valera 
La primera edición de la Biblia Reina-Valera, también conocida como Biblia del Cántaro, fue publicada en Amberes en 1602 por Cipriano de Valera. El texto de Valera sirvió de base para las revisiones publicadas por las Sociedades Bíblicas Unidas desde 1862 con el nombre de Reina-Valera.
