I just have two issues. 1. You have to go through the lower levels. There is no way to test into the higher levels immediately even if you already know a good amount of the language. Say I really want to work on my participles but first I have to go through 30 levels of basic stuff. This should be an option. 2. This is not minor but in the language settings, nothing is actually able to be changed. Maybe it’s because I am still on the free trial? But I am unable to mess with any of the settings. I will happily change my review to 5 stars when these things are added because this app really is an amazing resource. ### 4/5 — Biblingo *2026-07-31* Biblingo is a great app to learn biblical Greek! It’s informative and easy! The only thing I would suggest improving on is putting more audio on the words and Decks. They have a ton of words but a lot of them don’t have any audio for pronunciation. My second thing would be the definitions of the words. I don’t think they put enough definitions in the words. ### 5/5 — Top Notch *2026-03-14* Whoever made this app knew what they were doing. I am beyond impressed with the quality and content. I’ll be curious to see how it progresses as it dives deeper into grammar and sentence structure, but I love everything about this app. I’d rate it as even more effective and useful than Duolingo. I feel like I’ve learned more with this Greek than the Duolingo version. ### 3/5 — Like it, somewhat confusing interface *2026-02-11* I just started using Biblingo and I love the layout, the concept, etc. But I’ve been having some issues with the lessons themselves. Specifically with the voice recording option. When you record and then turn it off, you’re unsure if you passed the question or not and then sometimes it will seem to accept it and move onto the next and other times, I’ve done the recording three times and it won’t let me move on. And other times it turns green like I did pass it but won’t move on and the arrow does appear to go to the next question but then when I hit it it says I didn’t complete the question and I have to go back to the home screen and back into the lesson again. It would be nice to have a clear submit button if some kind when you’ve finished the question and then if it says it’s wrong either an option to redo it or move on and study it later…I don’t know. But as of right now it’s just very confusing. All that being said, once again, great app, easy to understand the lessons as far as what they’re teaching, love the concept and love that learning to read the Bible how it was written is something accessible for anyone. ### 5/5 — Hope the developer can continue improving the app *2026-01-10, version 2.3.4* It is a helpful app. But for a paid subscription, there are multiple issues. The app kept logout automatically. This is unpleasant, to say the least, and if it doesn’t improve soon I’ll be asking for a refund. ### 3/5 — Not impressed *2025-09-04, version 2.3.4* I started the Biblical Hebrew trial to compliment a course I was taking but the pronunciation on this app put me off. The woman pronounces the ‘b’ as a ‘v’. Il y a trop d’endroits où le texte ou le mot est en anglais. Aussi, c’est évident qu’ils n’ont pas engagé une personne francophone pour traduire les mots. Il y a parfois des erreurs dans la traduction du grec au français quand ils nous apprennent des nouveaux mots. Par exemple: σχίσμα. La traduction donnée est: larme. Tandis que le domaine sémantique donné est: déchirer. Une personne francophone sait que ces deux mots n’ont pas dutout la même signification. La traduction devrait peut-être être: déchirure? Je ne sais pas. En ligne, j’ai vu que ça serait mieux traduis: division. Je trouve dangeureux qu’ils ne font pas appel à un vrai traducteur parce qu’ils nous apprennent à lire la Bible, la parole de Dieu. It is obviously how much time and effort went in to making it . This is probably the most convenient and enjoying way to learn biblical languages ever done and very thorough as well . My one small suggestion is to give the user more control on the review settings regarding how often vocab is reviewed . I have forgotten quite a bit of vocab just because words never make it to review decks anymore . As a result I had to make my own Flashcards and import them into the Flashcards Deluxe program and have it so that no word goes more than a week without being reviewed again even if I know it. Would be nice to have similar control in this app because I would much rather never leave the app. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Say no to accounts *2025-11-06, version 2.3.4* Deleted immediately after being prompted for name and email to use a 10 day trial. I am done with having to create accounts to use a free trial for apps. ### 1/5 — whats going on? *2025-04-25, version 2.2.0* App doesn’t even load… my wifi is fine too! Its just all black when I open the app and nothing else happens! ### 1/5 — Dalet *2023-12-12* I’m new to Hebrew, but I think you have the wrong sound programmed for the dalet (at least in the first lesson). ### 1/5 — No email to sign up *2023-10-09, version 1.1.6* I can’t even use the app because I never received an email to sign up. I’ve tried two different emails and contacting their customer support - nothing. Someone else clearly had this problem and the issue was never fixed. This is an extremely fatal flaw in the design and makes the app, literally, unusable ### 2/5 — One of the worst *2025-12-29* Seems like this is a kindergarten version and an annoyance of an app to learning Greek. I’m sorry to say but this is a poorly planned app. Why is it that you do not allow user to go forward in learning letters, words or phrases? People have vast different rates of learning concepts, symbols etc. That is something that should have been in mind in mapping out the app. I found it to be quite annoying to have the app repeating the same letter, word or phrase. The app also failed to mention add Greek keyboard in order to type out those letters, words and phrases. Annoying to see red after typing out whatever until it dawned on me to add keyboard. Update the app adding forward arrows even before answering and notice to add keyboard. Have people try out the app and get feedback. Do better if you want people to pay for it. ### 2/5 — Very promising and beautiful App, but… *2025-06-14* Very promising and beautiful App, but starting the trial, which doesn’t allow me to skip ahead to my level, I am forced to go through the basics, and I am noticing it is teaching wrong information. Such as subject comes before the verb, and object comes after the verb, which is not necessarily correct for Greek and often not typical. It wouldn’t be so bad if they clarified that, but they straight up say that’s how it is done and even compare it to English. There is also a weird focus that “I hit” is ἐγὼ τύπτω, instead of teaching that this is an emphatic expression and that I hit is normally just τύπτω without need of ἐγώ, and if you put τύπτω for “I hit”, it will be counted wrong. If it teaches the basics wrong, I’m not going to pay to go farther and get to my level and see how the advanced stuff is. ### 2/5 — Inconsistent Pronunciation *2025-05-06, version 2.2.0* I appreciate the app, but it continues to have inconsistent Erasmian pronunciations ### 2/5 — High hopes dashed *2024-08-02, version 1.5.0* I really wanted this app to be good, but it simply doesn’t function in its current form. I wasn’t able to progress past the last question on the very first set of flashcards because the Greek keyboard on the iPhone doesn’t contain one of the necessary characters. Biblingo has made it super easy and fun to learn both Greek and Hebrew. I also took advantage of one of the live Hebrew classes which has also helped tremendously. Highly recommend. ### 5/5 — Solid program for adult learner *2026-07-29* I’ve been using Biblingo for 5 months now to learn Koine Greek. I’m in my 40s and it’s slow going, but I’m enjoying the process and making steady progress. I have a Greek NT and a few times a week I will pick a verse from my Gospel reading and try to read it in the Greek. I’m only on lesson 3 of 52 but I’m able to pick out words I recognize and sometimes figure out others from context. However, the amount of tools this app provides is unparalleled and makes it so much easier to make progress. They have straightforward lessons, custom sentences so you only practice with words you know, and a bible tool where you can track and sort biblical books based on how much you can read. People have no excuses to not learn the biblical languages with this app being available. The only minor nit I have is that in the settings you can choose the pronunciation you want (awesome feature), but sometimes it seems the vocab cards don’t always use that setting. ### 5/5 — New Testament Greek made accessible *2026-07-27* I've really enjoyed using this app so far. I have wanted to start studying the Greek of the New Testament for years, but I have not had the time to sit down and study an actual book or have an actual course. This has been a great way to dive into the New Testament Greek from what time and Energy I had available. It’s a great tool and really enforces the language. It has put me way ahead of everybody else in the class and made the workload. Maintaining language skills was the biggest obstacle I faced. This app has given me tools to recover what I’ve lost, and started to return my confidence in Greek. I plan to recover as much Greek as I can, and then use the Hebrew modules as well. I would 10/10 recommend this! The learning style is great, forcing me to remember ideas/images, not the words alone. That’s key according to Fluent Forever (a great book on language acquisition).
