### 2/5 — Needs updating for current IOS

*2017-03-26*

Excellent app, regularly used off road as it shows bridleways and tracks and all the usual cycling stats; but it's started crashing my iPhone 6... please fix, otherwise excellent and would be 5*

### 2/5 — Not supported!!

*2016-04-15, version 5.0.2*

This APP doesn't appear to be supported for the latest iOS version, or the iPhone 6s or 6S plus. The link to email support is not active nor is the email address valid. There is every parents that they are no longer supporting this app but are still selling it. Trying to select HELP, or MOUNTS, results in the App crashing. Too bad, it had potential.

### 4/5 — Near Perfect Cycle App

*2015-10-22, version 5.0.2*

Precision accuracy for gps function; however, it's a battery drainer. Suggestion - have the app automatically turn off location service when it is not being used.

### 4/5 — Great Health and Apple Watch integration. But it is ugly.

*2015-09-23, version 5.0.2*

One of the most expensive mountain bike apps, but good value nonetheless, because it's the only one I could find with solid Apple Health app and Apple Watch integration — and it does everything advertised very well.

The biggest negative is that it is visually very unattractive, compared to Runtastic’s MTB app, or Strava, and the general graphic design does not use the screen real estate optimally.

Number one item on wish list: presenting all the tracks and rides in month groups, with month totals. A lot of cyclist have monthly distance targets ...

### 5/5 — Perfect fit for bike trips

*2015-07-05, version 5.0.2*

Very stable and easy to use app. Trip recording works well and I like importing GPX tracks from friends and the Facebook sharing of my rides. Worth the money and full five stars from me. Thanks for the new Apple watch support!

### 5/5 — The best motivation for losing weight!

*2015-07-05, version 5.0.2*

The app shows real time data for calories, speed, altitude and distance while I listen to my music. That makes me ride faster and longer because I always want to beat my results from the last trip. Those apps makes the iPhone stellar!

Update v5.0: Now with much better altitude data. Plus it runs on my iWatch.

Update v3.0: Posting my rides on Facebook is pretty cool!

### 5/5 — The best I have found

*2014-07-16*

I have tried about a half dozen apps - all were underwhelming. This really is the El Dorado in my opinion. Click start, stick it in you rear pocket and away you go. Has all the relevant information - and of course ‘save and share’ so you can snub your friends - and also meaning you can’t cheat!! Autostop is great as well. The only improvements I would like to see is a comment box under the title of the ride - to put down relevant notes - like rain, or flat tire, etc . . . and a box to download an image of the ride would be nice . . . but I’m just being a dilettante at this point.

### 4/5 — Offline maps! Great use of old iPhone 3GS without cell service.

*2014-05-11, version 4.0.1*

I have been using this app on my old iPhone 3GS (without cell service) the past few years. It was the only map app I tried that supported offline maps, so it has become my default biking app. I start it, take a ride, and at the end, stop it and send the results (via WiFi). I can open them in Google Maps on my iPad and take a screen shot of the route to share with others. Easy to use, though there were other apps I liked much better but they did not support offline maps. (Offline maps is kinda lousy - you have to scroll around everywhere you want to go so it caches the map data, so if you don’t do this ahead of time, you have no maps, and if you change zoom, you have no maps. Limited, but works once you learn how to use it.)

### 3/5 — Shifting sands of the desert …

*2014-01-11, version 4.0.1*

I've been using this app for about 3 years now. First it sucked all the juice out of the battery hitting the GPS in my 3GS. That was fixed. Then they kept playing with the sharing mechanism. Now I've upload it onto a new iPhone 5S and guess what more glitches! Now, it no longer allows me to "stop" the timer as it did on the 3GS so that I can share out the performance. Instead when I hit the "sure?" button it just returns to stop and sits idle in "Paused" mode with the current track! Plus? It still gets hung up after sharing a track. When you try to restart the timer the clock sits frozen UNTIL you reboot the phone. Then it starts up fine. This has always been the case as long as I've owned the app. Its glitchy sorry. PLUS there seems to be no good way to report a problem!!!

### 4/5 — This is good

*2013-11-21*

I’ve used this 5 times a week for over two years and it tracks incredibly well, with great accuracy even in Auckland, New Zealand (I’ve also used it in Holland).I tried it on a mount once but I hit a bump and the iPhone flew across the road, so I never did that again (the mount was by a different company). I I just hit Start and put the iPhone in my back pocket. Since it emails the results back to me once finished, I have a library of my rides, calories burnt, top speeds etc. Very good. If I had one wish it would be that the start and stop buttons were bigger and/or brighter.

### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2013-10-15*

I live in Melbourne where there are dedicated bike paths that virtually pass through every suburb which I never knew existed before. I can travel to where ever I want now thanks to this app and avoid roads that cars travel on.
Cruising on long trips via bike paths was never possible before this App came along. I love riding thanks to this App.

### 5/5 — Awesome health monitor.

*2013-07-17*

I have now been using BI Cycle for just over 12 months. I am a type 2 Diabetic and the app in conjunction with 1-2 Sports allow me to monitor my riding, the difficulty of my riding and calorie consumption versus my weight control. My endocrinologist compares the graphs 1-2 Sports generate as againsty blood sugars. This app has revolutionalised my ability to stay healthy. The maps also have all the cycle paths marked so you can plan a route. Greatest thing since sliced bread. Runs for about 4 hours on a full I Phone charge-double that with back up battery.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — API Key required makes map useless

*2019-10-20*

Downloaded and I ran app changed to cycles open map and get message across map
”API Key required”.

No way to get hold of support either in app or on web. Hyper link to support go no where. I’m asking for my money back.

### 1/5 — They’re not updating it anymore

*2019-04-02, version 5.0.2*

this app is dead in the water, no more updates

### 1/5 — Was good once

*2017-05-10, version 5.0.2*

As others have noted, this app no longer works with recent IOS releases. Totally useless now since it won't acquire GPS.

### 1/5 — Great app!

*2017-02-22, version 5.0.2*

Used to really like this app when I first got it but every year it gets worse. At first it posted a map of my route and all relevant stats from the ride. Last year it only posted the map. Now this year on my first ride it only posted an ad for itself. I'll be looking for a new app.

### 1/5 — A once great app

*2016-10-16, version 5.0.2*

As others have noted, this app has not been updated. I bought it a few years ago, pre-iPhone 6, and it was great. Now it won't connect to the GPS regardless of location, and crashes when you try to get help in the settings menu.

### 1/5 — Update please

*2016-06-23, version 5.0.2*

This app had been a disappointing purchase. As others have pointed out many functions do not work or cause the app to crash. Furthermore, I have left my phone outside without it locking for 20 minutes and the app continues to say waiting for GPS. Going to have to find a different app, I guess.

### 1/5 — Overrated

*2016-06-11, version 5.0.2*

The heart rate function is worthless ...

### 1/5 — Used to be good

*2016-05-07, version 5.0.2*

Seems to no longer be supported and crashes whenever you try to share a track via email, Facebook, etc

### 1/5 — Big bug

*2011-11-04, version 3.1*

I thought this was an amazing app until the glitches started. First, the screen blacked out and no info was available. Several days later it started working again but then the gps went crazy and it would register things like "592 mph" and "trip distance 1,569 miles" . So I deleted the program and uploaded again BUT when you do that, all your trip info is lost. I know you can avoid that problem by emailing yourself the trip data after each trip but who wants to do that?! and you can't reload the data on the app so what good is that. After the new upload the app was fine for about 8 trips. But now the gps is going crazy again so I am going to have to delete and upload and lose all my data AGAIN. Really frustrating. Went from 5 stars to 1. Plus there doesn't seem to be any way to contact anyone to help me fix the problem.

### 1/5 — No google maps :(

*2010-10-02*

Looks ok, but I was wanting google maps as an option as well.
Also the BIG map needs to use the whole screen, ie no bars at the top or bottom of the screen!!
Will rate the application higher when these have been added/changed and will start using the application then.
Also a free trail version would have been nice so I didn't have to BUY to try.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Fantastic Apo

*2020-07-11*

This App is fantastic I have used it for well over 3 years and it does everything I need.
Very easy to navigate through menus and brilliant feature to email tracks.

### 5/5 — Great app, well worth the purchase.

*2019-03-12*

I’ve been using B.icycle to log & map my rides for over 8 years now & it works brilliantly. Back in 2010 it was in the top of the charts for cycling apps though it seems to have fallen down the rankings lately. With a bit of searching you can find it & it is well worth buying.

It has been kept updated over the years & still maintains all its original features. I started using the Apple Watch app last year on my series 1. It works pretty well though have found that it doesn’t stay on the app screen & goes back to the watch face so doesn’t always measure my heart rate. Perhaps another update would fix this?

If you want a simple reliable app to log all your values then I can highly recommend getting this app.

### 5/5 — Stood the test of time

*2018-12-29, version 5.0.2*

I have tracked every ride since 2011 with b.icycle and that's now more than 27,500 miles. The app is easy to use, the maps look great, it is reliable (I gave up on other apps before this after the GPS connections proved unreliable) and when they added the Apple Watch app it was even better. As long as the app stays updated for the iPhone and Apple Watch I intend to use this for the next 27k+ miles. Highly recommend.

### 5/5 — GPS does not work any more

*2018-08-19*

Hi I have always been very happy with this app, now, since the latest IOS upgrade, the GPS conncection does not work any more. developer, please help ..

### 5/5 — works fine w/new iOS

*2018-05-11, version 5.0.2*

This app works fine with 11.3 IOS.
Had to use a mount for large iphone 8+ and desired an app that had only simple cyclometer functions, a la Cateye, plus a map. This allows you to eliminate cadence, HRM, etc from the display. Auto-pause is a function the other apps didn’t have.

### 5/5 — Good Cycling App!

*2017-07-24, version 5.0.2*

I have used this cycling app for several years now. It does a really good job of presenting the necessary information while riding. I use a iPhone handlebar mount, and the app when not being displayed does not drain the battery (25% over 5 hours). Eben when the iphone screen is dark it still calls out the mileage and average speed at each mile of the trip.I especially like the post ride features of sending me the report and the total trip counts and map overview. The map function has aslo improved through the years. The watch function I dont use as its difficult for me to raise the watch and see the data while riding. Its pricey at $10, but I feel its decent value for the money.

### 5/5 — Bryton or this....

*2017-04-14*

Well I read every comment on this app before I decided to buy it, I loved my old Bryton rider 50, but I have to say Im glad I decided to go for this.

I have an old iphone 5 so I will be using this app with that, we did a test today and found the distance accurate.

I just can't find anything about how to add the off road maps on 😐

Overall im very impressed, the altitude feature works for me too.

Id say go for it... I ride on the moors and whilst I know the tracks it would be nice to find the hidden paths too.

Could the developer e mail me with the map upload instructions please.

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2016-08-11, version 5.0.2*

This app does so much more than a cycling computer and so easily. All the data is at your fingertips. You can email the ride data to your computer for easy viewing. It shows your route on the map. The designers have thought of everythings. Comparied to the price and limitations of a bike computer, this app is an incredible bargain.

### 5/5 — 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

*2016-04-24, version 5.0.2*

BEST CYCLING APP!

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2016-03-03, version 5.0.2*

Knowing how far I've ridden is great! I live in the Texas hill country and appreciate knowing the total altitude too!!!
