## What is Bicycle Parking?

Free bike parking app.

Features:
- Tap "Park Here" to mark where you park your bike.
- Tap the button on the bottom right to toggle between your parking spot and your current location.
- Select the "Add" tab to add bicycle parking spots to the public map. Pinpoint the bicycle parking location with drag and drop feature.
- Select the "Map" tab to view bicycle parking in your area.
-- Parking spots are only loaded for the area that you are viewing! If your city has a lot of bicycle parking, zoom in to where you want to park for the best experience.
- Select the "Manage" tab to enable special features such as the "Upload Later" feature.
-- Upload Later lets you save parking spots to your phone and upload them later. Ideal if you want to wait for a WiFi connection to send the images or for bicycle parking in locations with weak cell signals.

Ever wonder where the nearest bicycle parking is or have trouble finding a bike rack when you are in a rush? The bicycle parking project is taking advantage of modern technologies to help solve that problem for good.

All green markers are user generated data with an image of the bicycle parking area and optional notes. All purple dots are from external data sources such as city data, department of transportation or other bicycle parking projects. External data has not been confirmed. It is pretty simple. If you are looking for bike parking, open the app and look at the map in the area where you want to park. If there isn't anything yet you can help by snapping a quick picture and sending it in when you find a bike rack or any other bicycle parking that isn't on the map yet!

With this app, and help from cyclists all around, we will never have trouble finding a place to safely lock our bikes again.

### 4/5 — Working fine but needs polish

I’ve been able to add and confirm spots, but the drag and drop on the map can be tough to use, there is no guide to the different parking types, and generally the UI is not great. It has excellent potential! I hope there will be the ability in future to sync the data BACK to something like OSM.

It is so nice to be able to plan ahead knowing where you can park your bike ahead of time. I love this and also like how easy it is to add a bike rack when I see one. Great community app

Great little app!  Consider adding the ability to move the pin to anywhere on the screen not just where you are currently. I was in a hurry and couldn’t add to the map at a certain time, and I wanted to add the location and upload a photo later but I can’t. Consider adding this feature — just drop and pin and upload the photo you took earlier. I’ll be back and add the spot at a later date but this would be helpful. 

Also, add the ability to put a note for folks — for instance I wanted to put that the courtyard closes at 5 pm and gate is locked so don’t leave your bike inside courtyard — just wanted to add additional info for users.

If you’re having problems with the app crashing, try using the “upload later” feature! It has helped a lot for me. 

More of a question than a review - I’ve uploaded several new spots on the app today. Got the confirmation screen and everything. I don’t see them on the map - does another user have to verify them or something? Want to make sure all of my setting are right.

Loving this app so far, exactly what I was looking for. Very simple and intuitive to use. Hoping this becomes more popular.

I have noticed some places have duplicate submissions of the same bike racks- maybe this could be solved by allowing others to submit their photo to the same pin, instead of creating a whole new pin for the same bike rack.

This app has been great for me. There’s been various times where this app has helped me find bike parking when I can’t find any. I wish there was the option to upload photos of bike parking instead of just the camera option.

This is a great app, but very basic in terms of features and can be a little laggy at times.

I think this will be a really useful resource once users populate all the locations.

A few potential improvements:

- It would be good if the the “type of cycle parking” option was a bit more obvious.
- Ability to edit “type of cycle parking” where it is not already populated.
- some tech support to improve speed if app, particularly when sending a new location.
- ability to move the pin on the map more easily so that you can take a photo and then add it later (this would be helpful if there is a lack of signal etc.)

Other than that it is a great resource. I look forward to using it!
