Great big note for deaf people type big note people understand read

### 5/5 — Champ app!

*2022-02-28, version 2.1*

Update: Made by one person who happens to be deaf - a great app that I use daily! Developer is good with feedback - though he is just one guy he will try his best to add a feature if many people request it.

Amazing app made by a deaf developer!

### 5/5 — Great!

*2021-12-25, version 2.1*

I wanted one where you change text size because my eyes are bad, and this does precisely that.

### 5/5 — Happy deaf User

*2021-09-16, version 2.0*

I have cochlear implants and don’t enjoy wearing them 24/7. Big Note has made it super easy for me to communicate with restaurant workers, businesses, family friends and so much more. Allowing me to change the size of my font as a slider is a MASSIVE improvement over any other note app. I personally don’t use the Text-to-Speech feature but I am sure it is fantastic. If you’re thinly of downloading, do it!

### 5/5 — Works great!

*2020-07-09, version 1.8.9*

Does exactly what it says it does. It even stores the notes to use again without having to retype them!

### 5/5 — This app is dope

*2020-06-28, version 1.8.9*

I use it to talk to my grandma wen she havin trouble hearing.

### 4/5 — Talking to the deaf

*2020-03-11, version 1.8.6*

Still getting the hang of it, but so far it’s the best app I’ve found for speaking to the deaf.

### 5/5 — Adding Emojis breaks the text to speech functionality

*2020-02-20, version 1.8.5*

Adding Emojis breaks the text to speech functionality when emojjs are at the end of the tts

### 5/5 — Great

*2019-03-16, version 1.1.0*

As a deaf person this makes communicating with hearing people easier without having to hand over my phone.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — ****DO NOT WASTE TOUR MONEY****

*2024-04-02, version 2.4*

Avoid, CRIPPLEWARE.
This is no better than using Apple Notes or Pages. And the audacity to charge a subscription of $1.99 a month……
I would HAPPILY make a one time payment but refuse to pay a penny for your subscription!!!

### 1/5 — Not working

*2024-01-05, version 2.3*

Please fix the issue, I’ve loved this app!

### 1/5 — Unusable

*2024-01-04*

After the latest update, it no longer opens on my iPhone. I use this as a huge accessibility aid so this is very disappointing to me.

### 1/5 — shake feature makes it almost unusable

*2020-12-08, version 1.9.0*

i am autistic & use this app to communicate when non verbal. i like almost everything about it, but there are 2 huge issues
 - the feature of shaking the phone to get a blank note makes communication very difficult for me because it activates when i turn the phone around, resulting in confusion from shop workers & friends as they see a blank note instead of the note i wrote
 - there really needs to be a way to make the keyboard go away. its very annoying and takes up a third of the screen & there seems to be no way to lower it

i would give this app a 5 star review if there were a way to lower the keyboard & ESPECIALLY to disable the shake action but as it stands these are almost app-ruining bugs that make it almost unusable for its primary purpose of communication, & they very urgently need fixed

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback. The feature to shake the note - I will disable it and add the option in settings to enable the shaking to create a new note. Thank you for bringing this issue to me. As for the keyboard, you can swipe down the keyboard. let me know if that works for you - contact me via fractia@gmail.com

### 2/5 — Text to speech

*2022-08-17, version 2.1*

It's very useful app, but problem is when first paragraph start to speak then I want to add another paragraph then the speaker went l back to the top as repeating first paragraph to second paragraph and so on....

I really want to focus on currently typing on the paragraph and speak this instead of going back to the top. Don't have setting preference speech

Hope add better feature or fix little tweak for software speaker to focus on current typing.

### 3/5 — Simple, works as expected, w/ 1 critique

*2022-04-28, version 2.1*

It would be great if you could align the text. For instance, the preview shows the words centered horizontally and vertically, but that’s not what I actually get. I would love the ability to align the text. Will change rating to 5 stars if it happens.

### 3/5 — Question about saving and retrieving

*2021-09-23, version 2.0*

Help! Is there a way to save and then retrieve the recorded notes?

### 4/5 — 👍🏻👍🏻

*2025-07-10, version 3.0*

Been using Big Note a few years now
The shake to clear doesn’t work on the iPad like on the iPhones
You can either slide r or l to get a new screen for use or you can hold down the back button then delete everything to start with a clean screen
The Developer Peter is good about helping you with things which is nice to see
He replied back to me when I couldn’t get the shake to clear to work on my iPad
So I’m satisfied with both the Dev & the app
It is nice used on the iPad

### 4/5 — Big Note is very helpful

*2023-05-28, version 2.1*

I had a total laryngectomy so my voice is very limited and this helps

### 4/5 — Great but misspells my daughters name

*2020-07-09, version 1.8.9*

I am using this app to teach my daughters how to read. It’s great because they can more easily read the big font. The only problem is it constantly misspells my daughters name. I can’t figure out how to have the app save a word in its dictionary.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Simple and Direct

*2025-04-18, version 2.9*

Big note is the app we’ve been looking for.
Our teen son is deaf and although we can communicate through familiar gestures, ASL and he has a Cochlear Implant this app helps enhance communication between our us.
Highly recommended.

### 5/5 — Indispensable

*2025-02-06, version 2.9*

Big Note is Amazing, it’s one of my must have productivity app.

### 5/5 — Thankful

*2024-12-18, version 2.7*

Working in a front facing environment; this app is a clear and legible way to communicate with those who are hearing impaired

### 5/5 — Good But

*2024-07-21, version 2.7*

Great program but poor support went on Facebook about backup but had no answers

### 5/5 — Reliable, well-made app

*2024-05-05, version 2.6*

Having a slider within easy reach to adjust the text size for different situations helps a lot. The text-to-speech feature is also helpful. Saving notes is possible in this app but not very convenient because there’s no categories.

This app can help anyone who can’t (always) speak as well as the Deaf & Hard-of-Hearing.

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2024-02-14, version 2.4*

Adjustable font size, memory for often used phrases, works like a charm

### 5/5 — Unusable

*2024-01-08, version 2.4*

After the latest update, it no longer opens on my iPhone. I use this as a huge accessibility aid so this is very disappointing to me.

EDIT: This was fixed quickly and works again! Thank you!

### 5/5 — This is so app!!

*2024-01-06, version 2.3*

I absolutely love this!!! It’s best note I use to communicate with people.

### 5/5 — Friendly communication

*2023-08-04, version 2.1*

I need to big note for communication with hearing also easy to order food or drink.

### 5/5 — Deaf user

*2023-05-28, version 2.1*

The software provides excellent accessibility features, including Speech-to-Text functionality. It also offers the ability to adjust the font size on the fly. However, I require a feature that allows setting a specific font size for my use. 👈😎👍📱♾👁‍🗨💬🛰️🆘 #AccessibilityLens 2023
