I have been an avid skier for 65 years…and I’m still “seeking” the perfect turn….if it exists. Tom’s videos and teaching are secondary to none. His enthusiasm is infectious. I have learned so much. I joined BPS as a member and it was mind blowing. The way how Tom delivers complex concepts in very clear and digestible manner is amazing. There so many “wow” moments. My personal skiing improved drastically. Now with addition of two coaches Demelza and Jason to his camps, I could not recommend more BPS coaching!!! I started with these videos and realized I really didn’t know how to turn! It’s taken a whole season but now I can carve a turn from top to bottom and, more importantly, rip! The way Tom Gellie presents his content really resonates with me. Every time he he starts a sentence with “common problem” it is like he is talking directly to me. My understanding of how and what body parts are used to get different outcomes of ski performance has grown by leaps and bounds. Definitely watch each video several times as you do pick up on more nuances each time. The way he presents the material is a great model for a ski instructor. I really understand the how and the why he chooses specific drills as well as the feelings you may be looking for. Ultimately, how you integrate it into your regular skiing. The explanations are detailed but easy to understand. Something that I am working on in my own teaching. On top of that there is great content for practicing movements off snow as well as conditioning. (Some of that content has and extra cost but you have lifetime access). There is also good content about equipment, particularly, on. Ski boot set up. I am now acutely aware that my boot set up needs work and I have the language needed to share with a boot fitter to hopefully get the results I am looking for. Tom ### 5/5 — Really improving my skiing *2022-12-20, version 3.9.1* I’m a visual learner, so it really helps me to watch these videos. I then have a friend video me, and while the comparison is NOT flattering, I can tell what I need to work on. Also, it’s really helpful to know exactly what I should be doing, so when I do it right, I know that was the right technique and not something that just felt better. I also like that, rather than tell me what I’m doing wrong, this approach focuses on progressively doing things right in a manner that makes sense to me. It makes skiing with friends more fun because even if I’m on terrain I might find less than challenging, I always have something to work on. ### 5/5 — Big Picture Skiing App *2022-12-18* This app has everything I need from Big Picture Skiing right on my phone. The many training videos cover every ski topic you can imagine and are well organized and easy to find. As a second year student in the BPS Ski Academy and a student in the Body Prep Academy this past summer, I can’t say enough good things. Tom Gellie has put all of his amazing talent to work to create a super fun, highly instructive, online ski school for every level of skier. While skiing I use the BPS app as a ski coach to assist with skiing various terrain, conditions, checking body alignment, drills and of course lessons on whatever I’m currently working on. At home I use the BPS app to do ski related body prep exercises, pre ski warmups, and more in-depth video ski instruction. Tom Gellie and his team have done a great job of condensing their lifetimes worth of high level ski training and making it easily accessible for the rest of us. There’s a short video that explains how to navigate the content and it’s worth watching. The ability to watch videos off line allows me to review what I am going to practice, especially in areas where I have no cell reception. The custom “playlist” makes it super easy to watch videos that build on a topic. The Community section made me think “oh no, not another social media bashing opportunity”, but people actually post useful questions and insights. ### 5/5 — Better than any group ski lesson. *2022-12-14* Tom’s lessons are in-depth enough to give me more than enough I can practice in any session. You can also choose whatever You want to learn on the day & skip through the bits I don’t. Now as a beginner I’m lost. Before they had it laid out so that I could start with the fundamentals and logically progress. Now…. Just a bunch of videos with ZERO logical place to start. I guess if your already somewhat skilled then you probably know what videos to watch to get more advanced. If your starting out… look elsewhere for your $50 a month. We experience incredible, world-class coaching, great camaraderie, amazing conditions on the mountain and super on-mountain accommodations. Tom, Demelza and new man Jason Simpson each coached our groups for a full day. Thanks BPS, for adding Canadian super coach Jason Simpson to your team! We found the combination of coaching from the three BPS coaches to be really powerful. You can’t hide your flaws from three pairs of experts! There is a tremendous amount of self learning to be accomplished and combine that with a video lesson and you will be astonished at what you can accomplish on skis. Worth every penny and more that I have spent on a membership. For skiing, I was looking at different instructors, but it was all piecemeal. With BPS I get instruction from a true expert covering parts of skiing I never heard or thought of. It’s very easy to use - I knew today would be challenging, with 18” of fresh powder over crust. I reviewed the less than 10 minute video on skiing powder and crud, and had a great day skiing blacks and even some double blacks (the double blacks were more type 2 fun).
