Makes it hard to recommend as a serious work tool. Which it is. ### 5/5 — Brilliant *2020-12-10, version 1.5.3609* Flexible & elegant. Rather than having endless fiddly formatting options, BHG has purpose-based options (for instance, you don't set 'bubble width' but rather 'bubble priority) which keep everything beautifully consistent and meaningful. ### 5/5 — Beste Mindmap App im Store 👍 *2020-10-26* Endlich kann ich meine Ideen schnell und einfach in saubere Strukturen bringen und meine nächsten Arbeitsschritte planen. Die neue Lassofunktion lässt mich größere, komplexere Gruppen schnell neu zuordnen und die neuen, kleinen Untermenüs bringen alles markierte in gut durchdachte, vordefinierte Strukturen. Eine Klasse App, die ich mittlerweile täglich nutze. Die App ist also Mindmap, Projektplan und Checkliste in einem. Sowas hätte ich gerne schon vor Jahren gehabt ! The big hairy goal app allowed me to simple and quick to create mind maps and concept maps for uni that look neat and tidy and can clearly display the key information without you getting lost in creating too much aesthetics big goal Support was prompt and informative when required. Il reste des bugs mais résolus très rapidement (contacté dimanche, la correction a été mise en ligne lundi sur l’appstore !) ### 5/5 — Endlich auch auf dem iPad *2020-03-03* Ich verwende BigHairyGoal schon seit Jahren auf dem Mac, um komplizierte Zusammenhänge zu verstehen oder Todo-Listen abzuarbeiten. Ich kann es nur jedem empfehlen, der komplexe Aufgaben zu meistern hat. Dabei ist BigHairyGoal selbst einfach zu bedienen, hat aber dennoch eine Menge Funktionen, die ich nicht mehr missen möchte. Umso mehr freue ich mich, daß es die App jetzt auch auf dem iPad gibt. Die Synchronisation von Dokumenten über die iCloud funktioniert einwandfrei. Der Support ist auf Zack und die App wird ständig weiter entwickelt. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Verschlimmbesserung *2022-11-29* Hab die App im Jahresabonnement knapp ein Jahr benutzt. Anfangs noch relativ gut - mittlerweile kaum Nutzbar. Stürzt auf n IPad andauernd ab ohne Zwischnspeicherung (speichert erst beim schließen des Dokuments - stürzt aber dabei teils vorher ab…) Bearbeitung der Karten ist aufwändiger - „Ohne Titel“ muss jedesmal händisch weggelöscht werden Kein „Export“ mehr möglich - PDF, etc. Kein Drucken mehr möglich!!! Somit bleibt ein App-Zwang wenn man lediglich eine Mindmap weiterleiten möchte :( Damit bleibt nur der Umweg über einen Screenshot… erschwert euch fehlende/nicht auffindbare Einstellmöglichkeiten für Hintergund etc… War alles mal einfach und intuitiv -> so nicht nutzbar! **Developer response:** Hallo, vielen Dank für Deine Beschreibungen. In iOS 16 sind die Optionen für das Drucken und Exportieren in das Menü rechts neben dem Dokumenttitel gewandert. Das ist jetzt in allen modernisierten Apps so. Das mit der Selektion der Kartentitel ist ein Fehler, wird im kommenden Release behoben sein, das sich noch in der App-Prüfung bei Apple befindet. シ berbie ### 2/5 — 4€/month or 16€/year subscription *2021-12-22* Wished that I could get the trial without having to commit to a subscription right away. Dunno if it’s even worth it. **Developer response:** Hi! When you first download the app you can play around for it for a couple of hours without the need to start the trial. When making a purchase you will not be charged within the seven days of trial and can cancel the trial anytime within without being charged. So feel free to try out Big Hairy Goal. I tried it several times and kept losing my documents so I gave up. I’m not willing to spend a ton of time trying to get used to a new app if it doesn’t work pretty simply and without too much effort. I bought the year subscription but canceled before my week trial was over due to crashing. **Developer response:** Hi Ellen, I am very sad that Big Hairy does not work for you. That would be very nice. cheers! シ berbie ### 3/5 — Am iPhone nur mäßig geeignet *2024-07-06* Jetzt hab ich ein Jahresabo gekauft und kann es nicht benutzen, weil das Öffnen und neu Anlegen von bhg-Dateien nur über iCloud oder dem iPhone-Speicher geht. Aber nicht bei OneDrive, wobei auch diese Cloud im iPhone-Dateisystem verknüpft ist. Highly recommended, and well worth the low price. ### 5/5 — The most easy to use Mind Mapping App *2022-08-13* For me it is the perfect mind mapping app. It has so many great features and is just intuitive to use. Also using the Mac app and the iPad app almost feels the same. One thing I would like to see is the ability to do exports in more formats like markdown which would play together very nicely witch pkm apps like obsidian. ### 5/5 — Super Smooth *2022-01-29* This is definitely my favorite mind-map tool, and I also use it as a planner. I’m still learning all the ins and outs but generally speaking it’s very intuitive flexible. The software is very smart and organizing ideas is weirdly satisfying when stuff aligns itself. The only issue I have is that once it forgot my subscription, but closing the program and restarting resolved the issue and I didn’t need customer support. ## Most praised reviews (5 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — The app we all have been waiting for *2022-01-27* This app is exactly what you need. Think of all the whiteboards you’ve used to have a productive meeting brainstorming and organizing plans. This brings it all to your fingertips. I started using this app with family and coworkers recently. I love the cloud feature. Create a start of a plan and send what you got to your partners, coworkers, staff, employees or whoever. They can update and send back to the cloud. I can’t wait to see how this app grows and helps my personal and professional life out. Try it!!!! ### 5/5 — Robust und vielseitig *2021-10-17* Wirklich gut durchdachte Mindmapping-Software mit viel Liebe zum Detail - z.B. werden Verbindungslinien automatisch so gebogen, dass sie um die Kästchen herumgehen. Kann das nur jedem empfehlen, der ein Werkzeug braucht, das nicht im Weg steht, sondern mit durchdachtem UI und robuster Implementierung den Gedanken einfach freien Raum lässt. Der Entwickler ist sehr um Stabilität der App bemüht - in meinem Fall lief die App zunächst nicht, da wurde innerhalb von einem Tag ein neues Update rausgespielt. ### 5/5 — Multitalent *2021-08-05* Das Tool finde ich hübsch und bequem zu nutzen. Allerdings gibt es in der aktuellen Version Dinge, die mich stören: 1) Es gibt kein ReDo Button zu dem UnDo. 2) Wenn die Verbindungen zahlreicher werden, wirken sie etwas chaotisch. 3) Die Funktion „PDF Export“ habe ich in der iOS Version leider nicht gefunden. Wenn man kein Mac bei sich hat, kann es ziemlich frustrierend sein, wenn das fertige Dokument nirgendwo sonst verwendet werden kann. UPD: das Programm entwickelt sich schnell. Bravo! BHG ist ein absolut unterschätztes Tool. Von der klassischen Mindmap über das Organigramm, einer Ideensammlung, der Kanban-Organisation oder der Umsetzung von anderen Organisationsmethoden wie Getting Things Done (c), ob allein oder auf einer Karte, BGH kann das alles abbilden. Der eigenen Arbeitsweise sind keinerlei Grenzen gesetzt, wie das andere Programme dieser Art tun, für visuell arbeitende Menschen gibt es meines Erachtens nichts am Markt, was flexibler wäre. Das Abo-Modell ist flexibel und der Jahrespreis ist für dieses mächtige Tool absolut angemessen. In diesem Fall finde ich es äußert bedauerlich, dass Apple sein Augenmerk in diesem Sektor stets auf die üblich verdächtigen Kandidaten legt und solche Perlen im Apple-Store schon gesucht werden müssen. ### 5/5 — Sehr Nützlich *2021-03-15* Ich benutze BHG um komplizierte Vorgänge oder Zustände zu beschreiben. Es ist flexibler als klassische Mindmap Tools und nicht zu komplex um es bedienen zu können.
