Really?! *2023-09-24* The app itself isn’t bad, it’s well designed and easy to understand how to use. That being said, it’s unbelievable that there are ads in this app. I’ve never seen a retail store have an app with ads in it. It completely ruins the shopping experience and makes me want to delete the app. These ads need to be removed from this app, immediately, if you want customers to be comfortable using your app. It’s very intrusive and annoying to have to wait for an ad when you were typing or scrolling or trying to view an item. No one wants a retail store app with ads in it! Could you imagine if Walmart or target or literally any other big retailer did the same thing?! ### 2/5 — Frequent ads *2023-09-24* I downloaded the app less than 10 minutes ago. After logging in and browsing for an area rug, an ad popped up that had to be watched for 5 seconds before I could skip it. This happened again 2 more times within 3 minutes after the first ad. And it was the same ad each time. I can’t even look for what I need because of the frequent ads. I just uninstalled the app because that is ridiculous. An ad every 60 seconds is overkill. ### 2/5 — Entirely too many pop up ads *2023-09-07* I had high hopes for this app. However, the pop up ads one after another in rapid succession while you’re trying to search for something are unbearable. I deleted it after about 15 minutes of getting nowhere. It’s a pain to have to use the website instead of an app, but I found what I needed in about a minute bc there were no ads. What were they thinking when they created this this way? Smh. Do not recommend. I gave it two stars for existing. ### 4/5 — This amazing store *2023-09-06* I truly am amazed each time I come inside always friendly personable the app is just a plus all my coupons and rewards all in one place a great experience over all no complaints I love loveeee this store such cool finds in store and online paying is a breeze I’ve never gotten anything delivered yet so that’s why I gave it 4 stars but honestly i know that experience will be just as amazing!! ### 2/5 — Some problems with the app *2023-08-23* Hello, there are a couple of problems with the BigLots app that need to be addressed. First off: none of the links here in the App Store work. The link to the Privacy Policy does not work - neither does App Support or Developer Website. They either head to a dead link or an internal index page. Apple requires a working link to a privacy policy (although I keep seeing this not working with different App Store listings, so I have no idea if Apple’s enforcing this). Second problem: there’s a self-directed XSS (cross-site scripting) problem inside of the iOS app. A search for “” results in a XSS error. Final problem: way too many ads! Almost unable to use the app. I liked BigLots in the US, but the advertising makes browsing the app nearly impossible. ### 5/5 — Big Lots Review *2023-08-21* I have been shopping at Big Lots for several years now. I love the low prices and the large selection of goods for sale. I use Big Lots for furniture purchases as well as buying everyday household items. Big Lots has it all! ### 5/5 — Excellent customer service *2023-08-20* I've just bought a bed frame online from Big Lots, and everything went smoothly from the time I placed my order until the time I picked it up. It was quick and easy. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. ### 3/5 — Love the store, hate the app and website isn’t much better *2023-08-20* I just downloaded the app today (surprised there was one that I didn’t have) as I have been a loyal customer since 1992 and the days of “Odd Lots Big Lots” still being on the sign. The app is HORRIBLE with competitor pop up ads- I will be deleting as soon as I leave this review. Makes me wonder if the app is actually owned by the company? The website isn’t much better, slow as molasses and horrible in store when showing coupons at the register. Hopefully this will keep people away from my favorite store & more bargains for me! :-) ### 5/5 — Big lot purchase *2023-08-19* Was shoe shopping in the area near by and decided to stop in Your store. While I was there to pick up some drinking water I saw the summer yard things were on clearance. Picked up some stuff at a good price. Clerks were pleasant and helpful. A few things from big lots and my boring apartment now feels like ours ! ### 5/5 — “Big Deals, Big Savings & Friendly Services” *2023-08-17* Today my family and I went to Big Lots to purchase a few small items when we stumbled across a reclining loveseat that was on sale! The price was very reasonable compared to other reclining loveseats that we have looked at in recent months but because we decided to sign up as reward members we were able to save an additional 15% on top of the sale price!! The furniture service assistant Donald was very friendly and helpful in assisting us!! I just wanted to leave my two cents on our experience!! 5 stars ✨ experience ### 5/5 — Do not sleep on big lots *2023-08-17* I went to big lots today for the first time in years and I miss it so much. I would go to big lots a lot when I was a kid and I miss it. I felt nostalgia when I walked in and loved every second of it. There’s so many great deals. A small store that has a lot of selection of groceries and furniture. While all of the umbrellas were sold out, we came home with several great finds at a great price. Loved the clearance prices!!! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Terrible app full screen game ads every 30 seconds *2023-09-23* While I like the store, this app is the worst store app I’ve ever used and I will be deleting it after leaving this review. Anytime I try to search or put some thing in the cart, or read information about an item there are full screen ads. The kind you would see if you were playing a free game. And in some cases it’s more than one ad in a row. These ads make it impossible to have any kind of good experience using this app. Big lots needs to follow the standard formula for store apps, such as Home Depot, Walmart, target, etc. Where there is a small box displaying a static ad. Instead of playing constant full screen video ads. Timewise there were more ads than me actually being able to use the Biglots app to purchase. Huge disappointment they really failed. ### 1/5 — Who designed this *2023-09-23* I’ve never been more compelled to write an app review, let alone a store one but the last thing I want to do while spending a thousand dollars on furniture is close out ads for mobile games every time I open a new window. Who was so cheap at big lots corporate that they thought instead of paying for a functioning mobile app for a customer to buy products off of, they’ll use it to generate Garbage ad revenue. This is so tacky for a major company. I’ll never call for someone’s job but this whoever came up with this idea needs to be reevaluated within the company ### 1/5 — Possibly the worst app *2023-09-18* I very rarely leave app reviews and when I do it’s always for a positive reason. This is not that. This is not possibly it is THE WORST app I’ve ever used. Those crappy games that try to get you to buy coins every two seconds are less annoying because you know what you signed up for. I’ve never known a store to have pop up ads let alone ads every other second. It’s truly ridiculous. You can even try to place an order because every time you go to click something AD! Oh and there’s no back arrow. Like what the actual f***. So you’re searching stuff and click on something so you can get more info or add to cart dope but now you have to go back to the beginning and re scroll because there’s no back arrow and be prepared to wait through another 100 pop ups. Truly TRASH! ### 1/5 — Worst App Ever *2023-09-02* Like others have said the pop up ads are unbearable and make the app useless. I opened a Birthday Reward for the scannable barcode and an ad popped up immediately. I let that page with barcode sit open and ads just kept popping up. If I closed them, they came right back. And like another user stated you can’t browse without an ad popping up and then you lose what you were looking at and have to start all over. It’s the most frustrating unending cycle. And why does a company need to advertise irrelevant stuff? They must be getting paid to allow that. I wrote them an email about the torture that their app is, but I guess they make enough money or are getting plenty to have the ads, so they don’t care about their customer’s ease of use and sanity. It really shows you their greed and where their loyalties lie. Save yourself the headache and don’t waste the space on your phone. ### 1/5 — Pull it together Big Lots!!! *2023-08-26* I have never written an app review in my entire life, but it is TOO stupid for an official store app to have ads. I don’t mean there’s ads for Big Lots - I mean this app has pop up ads for other companies you have to wait 5 seconds to skip. And there’s fixed position ads on every page. The ad I just got on the landing page was a SCAM AD, designed to look like an official part of the app. Out of curiosity, I clicked it - and the scam website it links to starts asking for a credit card!! Big Lots!!!! Someone’s grandma is going to get scammed out of their fixed income for the month bc they got confused on your terrible app!! I just know that their app developer tried to tell them that this was a god awful idea and someone higher up in the Big Lots command ignored them, and I pray they can slam this review down in a meeting and say “See I told you so - horrible idea” Having to watch 10 advertisements when I already have to lease to own a couch is just insult to injury please Big Lots I beg you have some decency ### 1/5 — The APP is trash use the site instead *2023-08-25* Like others in the reviews. I discovered the app has pop-up ads like a game. There is no way to turn them off and you can’t even search an item without one popping up and having to wait to waive it away. You can’t go back after searching anything either you have to type the search in again…then guess what another ad pops up. Never in my 30 years have I had to deal with ads while shopping! I mean I am likely going to be giving the company a load of money so why do I need to be stopped every 5 seconds of browsing to watch an ad? I’m not exaggerating. I couldn’t do a single action without an ad popping up. Avoid this app at all costs!!! I love big lots and will go into the store to buy things… But I’m usually want to buy more if it’s easy to access on my phone. Big lots, you are losing business this way… Rethink your app please. ### 1/5 — Too many ads, yes, ADS! *2023-08-12* Never in my life have I used an app and had pop ups ads, (so MANY) and for a competing company (Temu) no less! I’m wondering who the genius was behind that idea? Don’t get me wrong, I love Big Lots, (even when it was Pic n Save before that). But this app is the worse! I’m so glad I didn’t sign into my account. Who knows the amount of junk emails I’d get because I’m sure they would sell all my info to make a buck. I feel safer ordering through the website where I can at least “opt out” of selling my info, (but not convinced that’s true after experiencing the app). ### 1/5 — Coupons *2023-08-11* I’ve been a rewards member for years at Big Lots and I had my eye on an amazing recliner. The store salesmen recommend I use the weekly 20% coupon emailed to me. Come to find out I didn’t receive the coupon so he advised I call the customer service line and I was shocked to know that only select reward members were sent the coupon that week. The customer service representative was unable to tell me I was excluded from the coupon nor advise me on what to do to be selected for Thai coupon. I don’t understand the logic behind this but needless to say I have purchased my recliner else where where a discount was offered ### 1/5 — Annoying Ads Are A Deal-Breaker *2023-08-10* This is the only store app I’ve ever used that interrupted my shopping experience to make me watch ads. I couldn’t even load my cart without an obnoxious ad being thrown in my face. So annoying. -_- I get enough of that from stupid free games, and at least those usually give me a digital reward for it. Deleted the app without placing an order. Still a Big Lots shopper, but this was definitely a turn-off. Save yourself some time and frustration and just use the Big Lots website from a browser. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Loved my experience! *2023-09-11* I went to 7 stores yesterday looking for the best patio furniture for the best price. This was my last stop and they had exactly what I was looking for! We absolutely love our new furniture and it was half off. We had two people help us and they were extremely nice! I wish I could remember the lady’s name but I believe the man’s name was Paul. They were so patient with us and really did help us. Sometimes it’s more convenient to get items delivered or to pickup real quick while out running errands. Prices are even better on the app than in person sometimes. You get notified of deals they’re having so you can jump on it before items run out or go back to full price. They always have quality items for great prices and the app makes it all that much better ### 5/5 — Love Big Lots *2023-09-05* I love Big Lots they have everything I need for my home, work and my family. I always find new things to do buy and their prices are fantastic. One thing I have to buy every time I go is their amazing candles. They not only have the best scent but there prices are so much cheaper then any other store. Their different seasonal and holiday items are also very amazing. If you need a specific item my recommendation is to always buy them at Big Lots.
