### 2/5 — Hard to use

*2022-04-21, version 1.7.74*

Decided not to go with this app will try a different app to keep track of work time. Wasted time with this.

### 3/5 — Very slow on IOS

*2020-11-10, version 1.7.74*

Very glitchy if you are start and stopping time. Almost half the time the total at end of day is not correct. It also is very very slow to respond on IOS vs Android.

### 4/5 — Easy to be remote

*2020-09-28, version 1.7.74*

I have a landscape design business and have a small crew that does most of their work remotely. BigTime allows them to get their time and expenses in easily. It gets the job done for us.

### 3/5 — Approval of timesheets

*2020-09-18, version 1.7.74*

I like the app. However I cannot approve timesheets for my teams. When will the approval feature become available?

### 2/5 — Could be better

*2020-01-29, version 1.7.74*

I’ve had to delete and reload a lot. It will duplicate an expense I enter and put it into “unsubmitted expenses”. It won’t refresh properly so that’s when I delete the app, reload, and it’s fine. But that is a pia.

### 2/5 — Lacks important feature and is buggy

*2020-01-13, version 1.7.74*

1. From the mobile app, there is no way to verify whether your time sheet has been submitted. It would be nice if it had this feature.

2. When submitting a time sheet, blue dots will appear next to records which require an explanation. If you click them to add the explanation, the keyboard pops up, and the save button disappears making it impossible to add the explanation. At this point, user has to close the app, start over and hope it works.

### 2/5 — Tasks still not showing up

*2019-08-21, version 1.7.74*

Even after logging out and back on several times and allowing weeks to pass, many of our employees can’t see tasks assigned to them on the mobile app. They can see it on their desktop but not their phones. Very annoying when trying to enter time and expense report items....

### 2/5 — Maybe ok for Time Tracking, Awful for Expenses

*2019-05-15, version 1.7.74*

The time tracking is inconsistent especially if you’re logging time from your PC and mobile. The app doesn’t sync well at all.

Expenses- once a report is rejected, it can only be edited from a browser (mobile or PC). However, once updated, the mobile browser format is terrible and you’ll need to go to a PC to submit the updated report.
If you try to update a rejected report from the mobile app, an error that the report is “locked” will prevent you from updating anything.

### 2/5 — Not Great

*2019-03-08, version 1.7.74*

It’s somewhat usable, but the timers stop working correctly if they’re created on a PC and then accessed from the mobile app. I end up with duplicates of the same time that I then have to delete. I’ve given up for now and just use the browser interface.

### 2/5 — Good start

*2018-05-11, version 1.6.21*

Please update this app, it has been a while and there has to be numerous cases built up. We pay a subscription and haven’t had one thing fixed. The core of it is good but needs another round of use testing and QC and it’s getting old.

### 3/5 — Works OK But Needs Work

*2018-04-04, version 1.6.21*

This is an alright mobile companion to the cloud based service. I use it. My employees use it. It works.

Would be nice if they updated it sometime. Been a year since last update. Still not formatted to fit an iPhone X screen. Even apps I use from small-time developers have been updated by now.

Also, you have to constantly, manually refresh EVERYTHING in the app. This has become habit for me and all my employees. But seriously would it be so difficult to just have the thing update itself when a user opens the app? That’s a “feature” of nearly every other app I use that syncs with cloud based servers. There’s a reason why.....it’s basic functionality people expect from an app in 2018.

I feel like the app developers approach to their work is “We did good enough. Let’s not worry about this again until we get a ton of complaints.” For what we are paying BigTime, we expect better.

### 5/5 — Just what I need.

*2016-04-04, version 1.5.70*

The BigTime mobile app is exactly what I need. It allows me to track time when I'm away from the office or a computer.
I can start and stop my timer on the go, and also track my expenses.
The app even has the ability to attach receipt images to an expense.
Perfect for an iPhone user. Highly recommend this app if you need mobile time and expense tracking. Thanks BigTime!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not working

*2022-11-15, version 1.7.74*

Despite multiple go-arounds with support, still will not work on my iOS device. Looking at the reviews , it’s hard to believe this app has been around that many years and still has very fundamental issues. Even more difficult to believe that my company decided to use this app.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2022-02-16, version 1.7.74*

App fails at one of its core functions: adding hours. If I could give it zero stars I would.

### 1/5 — Receipt content capture and iPad support

*2020-08-23, version 1.7.74*

App does not capture content of receipts and it really does not support iPad OS - works as iPhone app.

### 1/5 — Substandard

*2020-04-17, version 1.7.74*

We started using this so staff would have the option of filling out time sheets in the field on their mobile device. It’s like the development team put no effort into the app. Administrator updates to project codes consistently do not push through to the app. The only solution is to uninstall and reinstall the app. It’s incredibly inconvenient. Lots of details are missed: the keyboard covers options in pull down menus, notifications from Administrator are not shown in app, and you can’t correct submitted time sheets. Do not choose this software solution for payroll and time tracking if you need a reliable option for mobile users.

### 1/5 — Latest update doesn’t allow for timesheet submission

*2019-10-15, version 1.7.74*

It’s great that I can enter my timesheet data through the app but if I’m unable to submit that data is doesn’t do me any good. Please fix this so I don’t have to login on my computer to complete my timesheet.

### 1/5 — How Can Anything Be This Bad?

*2019-05-19, version 1.7.74*

This is not simply a bad app, this is a horrible app. I can’t even begin to fathom how simple incompetence could have produced something this wretched; there must be an element of active malice behind the conception of this software. Like the people in charge over at BigTime just said “you know what, f the customer. We don’t need to make this app usable, easy to navigate, or even stable because you know why? Because the customer needs something that will check the DCAA compliant box and everything else is less than secondary. Who cares if our software will let people put in impossible times? Who cares if our software will make even the simplest tasks take forever for no reason? Who cares if our tech support delays and delays in the hopes that the customer will just go away? Not us. We’ve got their check so we can just unplug the phone, reset the App Store ratings every few months, and hope a few more poor suckers will fall into our trap.”

You can make a better time tracking app than this. You, the CFO with no programming experience, can make a better time tracking app with a lazy afternoon, a 6-pack of beer, and an excel spreadsheet. Unless the only reason you need this is simply to check the box that says “WE ARE USING DCAA COMPLIANT TIME TRACKING SOFTWARE”, you should try to forget that you even considered this app and even then, you should reconsider being on a contract that requires DCAA compliance.

Yes, it is this bad. Ignore the 5-star reviews which are, without exception, written by employees of BigTime. Look at all the other reviews from people who are actually subjected to this garbage day in and day out. Do you really want to put your people through this? Do you really want to put yourself through this? Think about how bad a piece of time tracking software has to be to get someone to write a one-star review this long. It’s too late for me but there’s still hope for you.

### 1/5 — Asleep at the wheel

*2019-05-02, version 1.7.74*

This app has one job; to track time. I’ve used the app every weekday for 8 months and here are the results:
-Timer inflates or wipes out time 30% of the time
-Timer does not stop when stop button is pressed 50% of the time
-The app crashes during 10% of all time entries

Given that this is accounting software, and that accounting is required to be perfect, I am shocked at the BigTime engineers threshold for error and misrepresentation of time tracking.

Do your job.

### 1/5 — Almost complete garbage

*2018-12-15, version 1.7.74*

This app regularly deletes correctly uploaded and submitted receipts. Providing screenshot proof of these constantly and consistently reproducible problems to “tech support” accomplishes nothing. They’ll ask for your phone type and then say they can’t reproduce the problem and that’s that. Coming up on 2 years I’m forced to use this app and it’s not getting any better. So, plan on re-uploading several or more receipts every week when they are randomly deleted days later.

### 1/5 — Doesn't Work & No App Support

*2014-05-26, version 1.4.65*

This app doesn't work with my company's information. I downloaded the app months ago hoping they would fix it or respond to my e-mail to the support team. I got no responses & it sill doesn't work. I've put in our host site info in the settings & it doesn't recognize my log in info. Such a waste of time!

### 1/5 — Doesn't work!

*2013-07-17, version 1.2.57*

I can't log in to my corporate account, even after entering the BigTime host into the settings screen. There is no help on this app, and it looks like an alpha or beta version that is not ready for public release. Not sure how it passed the App Store standards test.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Awesome T & E Tracker

*2020-09-29, version 1.7.74*

We have been a BigTime client for several years and have recently moved to their BigTimeIQ version. We did this to get access to their mobile app because we have several employees who travel to meet with clients and are rarely in the office. Now even when I am in the office I find myself using the mobile app to enter my time. It is just super easy!!!

### 5/5 — BigTime gives me options!

*2020-09-28, version 1.7.74*

I do my project management work on my laptop when using BT, but the mobile app works great when all I need to do is record time for those projects. I am a multi-tasker so being able to do many things from different devices helps me make the most out of my time.

Thanks BigTime!

### 5/5 — Easy and convenient

*2020-09-28, version 1.7.74*

As a legal professional tracking time is always a bit of a thorn in my side. But BigTime is so easy and fast it makes this daily task a breeze.

### 5/5 — Big Time Review

*2020-09-23, version 1.7.74*

We have a small communications practice and we do most of our time and expense entries from our mobile devices. With the BT mobile app we can get that done easily. I would love to see them add additional functionality like approvals and some dashboard views but hopefully that is coming.

### 5/5 — An efficient resource

*2020-09-15, version 1.7.74*

The BigTime mobile app is pretty simple to use, especially for someone like me who really only needs a quick and easy way to get time into the system without having to be at my computer. I don’t need anything more than that!

### 5/5 — Great for what I need it for

*2020-09-15, version 1.7.74*

As a senior care service provider I am rarely at the office so using the mobile app is essential for me. BigTime on my iPhone allows me to track my time accurately from wherever I am at. Sometimes it takes a little while to sync up but it always seems to be there when I check it from my computer at the end of the week.

### 5/5 — Reliability allows me to focus on other things

*2020-08-07, version 1.7.74*

As an independent contractor who is always on the move, I rely on BigTime’s mobile app to track my time and expenses. It reliably gets the job done for me so I can focus on my work.

### 5/5 — Simple and functional!

*2020-07-21, version 1.7.74*

Time tracking and use of timers is simple!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2019-05-03, version 1.7.74*

The BigTime app is very convenient, especially for those who do not always have access to a computer. Works in offline mode too.

### 5/5 — Does what it should!

*2016-04-05, version 1.5.70*

One of the main reasons for going with Big Time was their mobile app and QB integration. We're able to track time against our project budgets and capture expenses on the go, which was exactly what we were missing with our prior package.

Only suggested change would be to get push notifications from the app, but hopefully that's soon to come.
