Great Features, But Unusable!

Rating: ★★☆☆☆

Review:
The app has impressive features and a lot of potential, but unfortunately, all of that becomes meaningless when it crashes unexpectedly during use. No matter how good the design or tools are, the app is simply unreliable in its current state. I cannot depend on it for serious work. Please fix the crashing issue as soon as possible — stability is more important than features.

STILL HOPING

I have been a user of the app biiCADo Pro for a number of years and I consider it the best 2-D CAD app for use on an iPad. HOWEVER, the creator has stopped supporting it and lots of bugs have developed and have not been fixed. I still use that app but it’s frustrating and time consuming. I have written numerous emails to the only email address that I can find in the app, pleading for them to fix the problems. I have NEVER received a reply of any kind! Then a couple of days ago I learned that they have a new app with a Subscription. It’s named biiCADo Mobile. I was excited and immediately signed up for the 10 day free trial.

My initial enthusiasm has been crushed pretty quickly. Basic operation of the drawing tools seems pretty similar to the old app. It would probably take a little time to readjust to the difference’s but hopefully it can accomplish all the same things or maybe even more. Then I loaded a drawing .DXF file I had created with the old app. It took a little while to figure that out but I finally got it loaded and it looks good. One of the bugs with the old app was that I could not print drawings directly from the app. I figured out a work-around for that which requires a number of extra steps and is aggregating but I get printing. So I tried printing with the new app. It uses the same method as the old one - first, the drawing is turned into a PDF document and then you print that. First, I was disappointed that I couldn’t find the “window” tool which with the old version allows you to define which part of the infinite drawing screen you want printed. Then when I try to print, it gives me an image that is nothing even close to my drawing. It is a weird, blurry picture with no detail of any kind. Also, the box that opens to control printing is in German, not English like all the other text in the app.

There’s other serious bugs that I have noticed so far. For instance, when I tried to zoom-In on the drawing, using finger pinching on my iPad, at a certain point, the app just closes. I am assuming that you would loose any work you had done since you last Saved the file. That is completely repeatable and is really annoying and basically makes the app unusable.

I, again, reported the issues I have seen so far (to the only email address that I can find in the app) and, again, I have received NO REPLY!

I am still hoping that with the release of their new product, they will start fixing their programming bugs and become responsive to their subscribers technical issues. I still think that their old app was the best 2-D CAD app for iPads.

Missing menu item

Signed up for the monthly subscription but the modify menu still does not have the trim/extend function. In the description it says it should have it. I also can not find a support email address for questions.
I've got 1 free week to test this program so hopefully someone will respond here.

Response from developer

We have released an update. The trim and extend feature is now available.
