## What is Biju?

Biju
From the French bijou — a jewel, a small treasured thing.

I've always thought photos and jewels are the same sort of thing:
both are things we put away carefully, things we'd hate to lose.

So I set out a table for you —
with a pair of scissors and a jewelry box on it.
Sit down, take your time, cut a little, paste a little,
and trim an ordinary photo with stars, pearls and small glowing things.

Pick up the scissors, cut your photo and piece it back together, and let simple, sweet shapes scatter across it. Any carelessly taken snapshot gets a second life.

Open the jewelry box. Shimmering sequins, rhinestones and satin bows gather neatly onto your photo, and a still moment lights up, gently.

Date stamps, phrases, weather and big titles: pick one and Biju fills in the words, the font, the size and the spot. Eight new fonts came along too — marquee bulbs, handwritten script, rounded, condensed.

· SnipSnip: ready-made backdrops for the color area — sky, sea, rain, light and shadow, floral fabric. No more digging through your camera roll for a second photo that matches.
· Shapes got a Solid style, and Cutout / Solid / Rainbow / Outline now live in one menu.
· Jewelry Box: frame patterns can be resized — drag for denser or bigger.
· Two new ditsy floral patterns, in both editors.

Better
· SnipSnip's Centered layout keeps the photo at 3:4 — no more thin strips on 3:4 and 9:16.
· Photo effects now only touch the main photo, not the one you placed in the color area.
· The Jewelry Box upload screen no longer drifts out of place on iPad, and you can tap anywhere on the empty canvas to pick a photo.

Biju is now in English.

The whole app — every screen, every button. There's a language switch at the bottom of the home screen (Simplified / Traditional / English), and on first open Biju follows your phone's language.

· Snipsnip: after you'd placed a lot of shapes, parts of the canvas would stop accepting new ones. Every spot works now.
· Live Photo covers now use the frame where every jewel and shape is complete — no more hunting for a good key frame in Photos.
· The app is a lot smaller to download and to keep on your phone.
