## What is Bike IQ?

Turn your iPhone into a complete cycling computer, with no extra hardware.

Live ride metrics, your own ride pages, virtual sensors, cycling maps, offline navigation, elevation ahead, shifter controls, and post-ride analysis, built for road riding, training, racing, and everyday rides.

◆ SMART PAGES

Build the ride screen you want from more than 180 tiles: graphs, climbs and elevation ahead, your next turns with the roads they go onto, a radar lane with the cars behind you, rain ahead, live power records, weather and more.

Auto Pages come up by themselves when they matter: before you start, as a turn nears, on a climb, with a car behind, at a new lap, or into a headwind. Switch pages from your shifter buttons.

◆ VIRTUAL CYCLING SENSORS

Bike IQ estimates power, detects cadence, identifies your gear, and tracks grade from the iPhone's own sensors and physics modeling, even without a power meter, cadence sensor, or electronic groupset.

◆ CYCLING-OPTIMIZED MAPS

Maps that make the roads and trails cyclists care about easier to see, offline-first, with one-tap zoom.

Build or import routes, add waypoints and Rest Stops, and get turn-by-turn guidance, with a road type bar for paved roads, gravel and bike paths. Even when you are not navigating, Bike IQ predicts the road ahead and detects climbs before you reach them.

◆ RIDE REPORT

Every ride gets a title from where you went and Bike IQ Highlights, the facts worth keeping. Zoom any chart to the second, select a stretch to see its numbers, and export the ride as CSV.

◆ SMART SHIFTER CONTROLS

Bike IQ supports SRAM AXS and Shimano Di2: track gear position and drivetrain battery, and turn pages, mark laps, zoom the map, mute radar alerts or trigger Shortcuts from your shifters.

◆ SENSORS AND RIDE DATA

Power meters, heart rate monitors, cadence and speed sensors, radar, tire pressure including Quarq TyreWiz, and e-bikes from TQ, Specialized, BESV and Mahle. Heart rate from a strap, Apple Watch, a watch that broadcasts it, or AirPods Pro 3 and Powerbeats Pro 2 (beta). Or ride with no sensors at all.

◆ RIDE SYNC

Automatic sync with Strava and Apple Health, with your ride title and Highlights in the Strava description.

### 5/5 — Impressive cycling app, exceptional support

*2026-10-28*

I’m an 80-year-old retired engineer, and I’ve been tracking my bike rides for 53 years. I’ve used plenty of cycling gadgets along the way. Bike IQ impressed me enough that after just four rides, I switched to using it exclusively to record my rides.

It brings together my e-bike’s motor and battery information, Di2 gearing, Apple Watch heart rate, and navigation on my iPhone. It’s the only app I know of that does all that, accurately and with no drama. Bike IQ has replaced two devices and three apps in my recording setup.

There are still a few things I’d like improved, but at this point I’d mostly be splitting hairs. The app is already remarkably capable.

What really sets it apart is the support. I sent the developers four issues, and the next update addressed all four. Subsequent questions have received thoughtful, specific answers—including honest explanations of what isn’t available yet and why.

I’m still putting it through its paces, but I’m enjoying using it. An impressive product backed by developers who listen and follow through.

**Developer response:** 53 years of tracking rides, and Bike IQ made the cut! Thank you for the kind words, the thoughtful feedback, and for helping make Bike IQ better. It's a pleasure building this for riders like you!

### 5/5 — Pro cycling app

*2026-03-18*

The best cycling app that can def replace $$$bike computers. All stats are incredibly accurate compared to meters. Would def recommend everyone to try it!

**Developer response:** Thanks so much for this. Thanks so much for this. Really glad Bike IQ earned a spot in your kit, and that the numbers are holding up where it counts. Thanks for spreading the word. Ride on! 🚴

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.4 — 2026-10-31

Bike IQ 1.4.4 lets you give PRO to friends, adds turn-by-turn tiles for navigation, and gives you more control over how the ride map moves.

- Give a Month: share your link from Settings. A friend new to PRO gets a month free, and you get a month when they ride. Bring 12 friends and PRO is yours for life
- Next Turn: a new tile with your next turn, how far it is and the road it takes you onto, plus the turn after when two come close together. Upcoming Turns and To Destination join it, a Navigation page comes up on its own as you near each turn, and the next turn glows on the map
- E-bikes: after you add a TQ, Specialized, BESV or Mahle e-bike, Bike IQ offers to connect its motor. For other motors, ask us to add yours
- Join the Bike IQ Club on Strava from the Strava screen
- Range Extender tile: your extender's charge beside the main battery, on TQ and Mahle e-bikes
- Follow Zoom and Perspective each have a Ride and a Route setting, so the map can stay flat while you navigate
- Tilt is now a slider, from 0 to 60 degrees
- Larger Map Buttons (Map Display): bigger zoom, camera and expand buttons, easier to hit with gloves
- The Ride Report elevation chart now matches the route chart, with a white elevation line and grade colors that gain detail as you zoom in. The map's Grade line uses the same colors
- Descents are shown in green on the Ride Report and on route charts
- Two short beeps when a Di2 or AXS shift has no gear left to go to
- A sensor that drops mid-ride no longer blanks the rest of the Ride Report, your ride files or Apple Health
- The ride title and description grow with what you write and stay above the keyboard
- Saving to Apple Health keeps going if you leave the app after Save
- Apple Watch heart rate comes back more reliably when the Watch workout reconnects
- Routes no longer send you onto a long ferry crossing when you could ride instead
- Bug fixes and performance improvements

### 1.4.3 — 2026-10-25

Bike IQ 1.4.3 lets you choose how your routes are planned, and gives climbs and descents their own map.

- Pro Lifetime: pay once and keep Pro for good
- Routing Preferences in the route builder: pick Quiet & Safe, Back Roads, Flat, Climbs or Gravel, or set Roads, Surface and Hills yourself, and save your own
- Route builder search works like Maps: results as you type, along your route, with one tap for Coffee, Water, Food or a Bike Shop
- Map Modes: choose what the map does on a ride, a route, a climb and a descent. Descent mode (Pro) tilts the map down the road
- Imported routes follow your file across a stretch the map has no road for, instead of detouring around it
- Rest of Route: while navigating, see the route from you to the finish with its elevation
- Descent page with the drop ahead and Time to Bottom, and a more accurate Time to Top
- Power Curve in the Ride Report, with this ride's PRs in gold
- A new Ride Summary in the Ride Report and Ride Complete
- Ride Complete tells you when a sensor on your bike sent no data all ride
- Add a ride to your Favorites from the Ride Report menu
- Radar, Gear and Weather strips can each be hidden on the ride screen
- System Status warns when Apple Health settings would stop your Apple Watch heart rate from recording
- Mahle e-bikes connect for assist level and battery
- If iOS closes Bike IQ during a ride, the ride keeps its sensors and its climbing when it reopens

- Better battery life on the live ride map
- Bluetooth broadcast to bike computers feature is removed
- Bug fixes and performance improvements

### 1.4.2 — 2026-10-17

Bike IQ 1.4.2 fixes a crash when adding a bike from Settings > My Bikes.

Also new:
- Route builder and route viewer redesigned: a panel you resize like a sheet, search along your route, tap the elevation chart to pick a point, and a layout that fits in landscape
- Zoom the elevation chart and the map follows the same stretch of the route
- Sharper maps in landscape
- Imported routes that use a highway now follow your line instead of being rerouted, and any route can allow highways
- A rest stop no longer adds phantom climbing to a route
- Auto-pause no longer pauses while you pedal up a slow, steep climb
- Your Perceived Effort shows on the workout in Apple Fitness (iOS 18 and later)

- Settings redesigned, with search
- Numerous bug fixes and performance improvements

### 1.4 — 2026-10-05

Bike IQ 1.4 is our biggest update yet. Meet Smart Pages.

Your ride screen is now yours to build. Design your own pages from more than 150 tiles, and Bike IQ brings up the right one at the right moment: your climb page as the road tilts up, your traffic page when a car closes in, your lap page the moment you start a new lap. No tapping, no hunting for the right screen. (Pro)

New tiles to build with:
- Live personal records: chase your best power from 30 s to 20 min and your fastest 10 km to 180 km, lit up in gold the moment you beat your last 3 months

- Graphs, weather, tire pressure, batteries, gears and more
