## What is BikeBatt?

Never start a ride with a dead battery.

A modern road bike runs on batteries. Shifters, power pedals, lights, radar, GPS, watch, phone -- 10+ batteries from 5+ manufacturers. If any one dies mid-ride, your ride is ruined.

BikeBatt is the pre-ride readiness checklist that makes sure everything is charged, packed, and ready.

PRE-RIDE CHECKLIST

Open the app before every ride. Work through the list. Tap each item to confirm. A horizontal progress bar fills as you go -- green means ready to ride.

Devices are grouped by category: shifting, power, lights, radar, GPS, tire pressure, gear, spares and tools. Each item includes instructions for where and how to check its battery level.

BATTERY TRACKING

Log battery percentage for every electronic device on your bike. Color-coded status at a glance: green is good, orange is getting low, red means charge now.

Typical battery life is baked in for every device, so BikeBatt estimates how many hours of riding you have left. When a check gets stale, it extrapolates the likely current level from your mileage and flags devices that may be low.

Track how long replaceable batteries last. Swap a CR2032 in your SRAM shifter, log it, and over time the app learns how many days or miles each battery lasts.

SYSTEM SELECTORS

Pick your setup and the app configures the right devices, battery types, and check instructions automatically:

- Shifting: SRAM RED eTap, SRAM RED eTap AXS, Shimano Di2, Campagnolo Super Record EPS, mechanical
- Power meter: Wahoo Powrlink, Favero Assioma, Garmin Rally, SRAM Quarq, Stages, 4iiii, and more
- Rear radar: Garmin Varia RTL515 / RCT715 / RVR315, Bryton Gardia, Magene L508, Trek CarBack
- Bike computer: Garmin Edge 1050 / 1040 / 840 / 540 / 530 / Explore 2, Wahoo ELEMNT ACE / ROAM / BOLT, Hammerhead Karoo 3, Coros Dura, Bryton Rider (18 models total)

Change your setup any time from Settings.

MILEAGE TRACKING

Enter your year-to-date miles (or kilometers) from Strava or your bike computer. BikeBatt uses your riding pace to estimate when each battery will need attention, and to track battery lifespan in miles, not just days. Switch units any time.

MAINTENANCE LOG

Track when you last replaced your chain, tires, cassette, brake pads, and bar tape. A dedicated section at the bottom of the checklist keeps these separate from your pre-ride batteries.

Includes a recurring "Clean & Lube Chain" reminder (14 days by default). One tap marks it done; the app nudges you when overdue.

TIRE PRESSURE

Log front and rear PSI with a target pressure displayed as guidance. Great for beginners learning what pressure to run, and for experienced riders tracking their preference. Color feedback shows how close you are to your target.

GEAR CHECKLIST

Driving to a group ride? Never arrive and realize you forgot your shoes. The gear checklist covers cycling shoes, helmet, sunglasses, gloves, sunblock, and nutrition. Seasonal items like shoe covers are there but disabled by default -- turn them on when the weather calls for it.

SPARES AND TOOLS

Confirm your saddle bag is stocked: spare tube, CO2 cartridge, spare derailleur battery. Verify your tools: CO2 adapter, tire levers, multi-tool, mini pump. Check once, ride with confidence.

EQUIPMENT IDS

Run two power meters or a pair of identical radars? Tag each device with its ANT+ ID, Bluetooth ID, or serial number (and an optional nickname) so you always know which one you're looking at. Find these in your Wahoo, Garmin, or SRAM app under sensor details.

HOW-TO-CHECK GUIDES

Every device includes step-by-step instructions. New to electronic shifting? The app tells you which button to press and what the LED colors mean.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.12 — 2026-08-01

- Weather-aware checklist — a WeatherKit weather card now shows current and tomorrow-morning conditions, and gear items can appear automatically based on thresholds (gloves below 55°F, sunblock at UV 3+, shoe covers/jacket when rain is likely, tights in the cold)
- Multi-day event mode — a new toggle in Settings adds a 16-item overnight packing list for charity rides and bike tours (next-day ride kit, charging kit, sleep kit, toiletries, ID/money/keys, event documents, ride dedications, and more), built from PMC packing lists
- New gear & tool items — Sweat Band, Arm Covers, Chamois Cream, Floor Pump, and Mini Pump
- Tune-Up tracking — log your last full tune-up in the Maintenance section so you know the bike is ready before a big event
- Easier number entry — Done button and scroll-to-dismiss for numeric keyboards (tire pressure, battery %, mileage)

### 1.11 — 2026-04-22

Garmin Varia battery auto-read
BikeBatt can now read your Garmin Varia radar's battery level directly via Bluetooth. Tap "Read from Varia" when logging your radar battery — no more guessing from the LED. Pair once in the app, and it remembers your device for next
  time.

  - Supports RTL515, RTL516, RVR315, RCT715, and compatible radars
  - Manage paired devices in Settings → Connected Devices
  - Fully opt-in — manual logging still works exactly as before

### 1.10 — 2026-04-15

What's new in 1.1

  • Maintenance log — track when you last replaced your chain, tires,
cassette, brake pads, and bar tape.
  • Clean & lube chain reminder with a gentle orange nudge when it's
    been more than two weeks.
  • Pick your gear: new selectors for power meter (13 models),
rear radar (10 models), and bike computer (18 Garmin/Wahoo/
Hammerhead/Coros/Bryton models) — onboarding and settings.
  • Battery life estimates: each device shows typical hours of
riding and estimated hours remaining based on your last log.
  • Mileage tracking: enter your year-to-date miles (or km) so
the app can flag batteries that may be running low between checks.
  • Redesigned pre-ride status bar — cleaner, horizontal progress.
  • Lots of smaller polish: tap-to-log recurring tasks, improved
LED quick-entry, equipment ID fields (ANT+, Bluetooth, serial)
to tell similar sensors apart, saddle-bag spares & tools.
