### 2/5 — Doesn’t accept digital payment

*2026-08-07, version 1.0.0*

Unfortunately it doesn’t accept Apple Pay. I am reluctant to give my credit card information to yet another company. I think I applaud the concept I think and I look forward to using it someday.

### 3/5 — Doesn’t crash anymore

*2026-07-28, version 1.0.0*

Largely works

### 2/5 — The sign up flow is horrible

*2026-06-15, version 0.22.1*

The app needs polishing. I’ve been forced to use a locker and had to use this locker. It took me several attempts before I was able to create an account. It asked multiple times for phone and email verification, and then multiple times for CC. I tried to copy a card number from my password manager, and the cc form went crazy. Please test your app.

### 2/5 — Wish it worked

*2026-04-24, version 0.22.0*

I love bikelink lockers. In my day job, I promote biking and transit to thousands of employees and want to promote BikeLink lockers. But I don’t think I can when the iOS app crashes immediately when opening. Please fix this!

### 3/5 — App wording concerns

*2026-04-05, version 0.22.0*

Very convenient option to store large items. I used this to store my bike since I couldn’t get it on the train. BUT my review is about the app itself. It states you can rent the storage box for 3 days but the terminology on the app causes concern rather than clarification. I have 4 hours left in my reservation but it says “ your rental has been abandoned for: 4h 7m” indicating my time has elapsed. As you go back into the app, the time will actually countDOWN. It’s currently now at 4h 3m. There are better ways to reflect how much time is left and/or time gone OVER the 3days (72hrs).

### 4/5 — Something wrong with app?

*2026-03-23, version 0.21.1*

The past week I’ve noticed many available lockers are stuck in ‘LOOKING’ and I am unable to rent. I’ve been using this app for about a year and now it’s got a weird bug. Any chance y’all going to look into fixing this???

### 1/5 — All lockers stuck on “Looking”

*2026-03-20, version 0.21.1*

Bug is preventing me from renting lockers. Garbage app, poorly maintained lockers.

### 2/5 — Bring back 15 hour default rental

*2026-03-17, version 0.21.1*

I’ve had zero problems with this app for several months, I love not having to remember my old BikeLink card. It’s easy to add money.

But recently a change was made to the default rental time. Rentals used to default to 15 hours, now they default to 0, meaning you get charged more than 2x for your rental. If you miss selecting the duration before starting your rental, there’s no way to add more time without ending your rental and starting again. This takes a lot of extra time when parking at BART and trying to catch a train. Please bring back the 15 hour default!

### 1/5 — Great utility, predatory app design

*2026-03-16, version 0.21.1*

I rely on BikeLink for the convenience and security of their lockers, which are located exactly where I need them. However, the app’s "Add Value" flow feels intentionally deceptive. Even when I have a sufficient balance, the app consistently pushes the "Add Value" screen immediately after closing a rental. I’ve had multiple instances where a single accidental touch—or even just putting my phone in my pocket before the screen locked—resulted in an unauthorized charge to my card. It’s a shame that such a useful service is paired with an interface that seems designed to fleece users for a few extra dollars rather than prioritizing a smooth user experience. Fix the UI.

### 1/5 — Incredibly trashy app

*2026-03-14, version 0.21.1*

Had to take my photo sideways, while holding driver’s license

### 1/5 — Bike got Stuck, Better off just locking it near by

*2026-03-08, version 0.20.3*

I got off the train station and decided to choose these lockers since it was only 5 cents an hour. Its not worth it guys, i came back tried to unlock it (didnt work), then called and the lady gave me a pin (that didnt work), and i called again and they put a ticket and hopefully ill get it tomorrow?? If they make me pay for all of that time i will be really mad tbh

### 2/5 — Does not work a majority of the time

*2026-02-25, version 0.20.3*

Only works for 3/15 lockers at my station. They clearly available, but app cannot load them, cannot connect by ID lookup, cannot connect by QR code. I imagine this is the fault of the app (so I will be getting a physical card).

Customer service never picked up

### 1/5 — DO NOT USE BIKE LINK. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

*2026-02-04, version 0.20.3*

The lockers never worked, I sent in a request for them to fix the specific location I was going to be at weekly. They said they sent a technician. I tried it out and it was buggy to access the locker but it did finally open… when time came to get my bike out. NIGHTMARE. Error after error, phone support asked me to reset the machine by holding the button down and then sent me a code via text to bypass the lock. Nothing worked. My bike is locked inside and I have to wait for a technician to call me back to coordinate retrieval of my bike.

### 1/5 — Biked Locked Inside

*2026-01-18, version 0.20.3*

First time using bikelink. When trying to end my session to retrieve my bike, an error message appeared saying to contact customer support. Customer support was unable to assist in opening the locker so I was told to wait for a technician to call me. After waiting around, I called customer support back and they told me that the technician would likely not even call me today. So I had to uber home and leave my bike in the locker hoping that the technician calls me back.

### 1/5 — Scam App

*2026-01-09, version 0.20.2*

This is a scam

### 2/5 — Great when it works, terrible when it doesn’t

*2025-12-16, version 0.20.2*

When the app works it is really useful. Very cheap and it’s quick to start and end rentals. When the app doesn’t work it’s a real hassle though and customer support doesn’t have the tools or scripts to unblock customers.

I was commuting to work and I rely on BikeLink to lock my bike every day. The app one morning wasn’t loading available rentals. I stood in the rain first trying to fix on my own (log out/in and reinstall the app). When I called support it took them multiple minutes to get to the punchline that they wouldn’t be able manually start a rental for me. Lost a lot of trust and I’m not sure I’ll use the app again

### 1/5 — Horrible app

*2025-10-27, version 0.20.1*

Navigation is horrible. Services to link with Clipper are confusing. Bad app.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Accessibility issue

*2026-07-14, version 0.22.1*

Slider bars as inputs maybe make sense for less than 13 options but they're not accessible at that range. 4 days of 1 hour intervals is 96 options.

I cannot book my reservation without my finger leaving the screen changing it drastically. At least have an alternative input (like time and date dials, the web standard).

### 1/5 — Wouldn't Accept Payment

*2026-06-30, version 0.22.1*

Absolutely terrible experience. Just making the account had me in a constant loop of phone number verification even though the account had already been created.

Once I actually managed to get into the app to select a locker I couldn't even add funds because it kept giving me a "Card Details" pop up. Presumably it meant the card details were somehow wrong (they weren't) and I couldn't do anything about it.

If this is some sort of ploy to discourage people from biking and using public transit, it definitely is working.

### 1/5 — Horrible company

*2026-06-26, version 0.22.1*

My bike was locked up. I was far from home. The app couldn't find the locker and their support line repeatedly hung up on me from hold without anyone ever answering.

Absolutely abysmal company.

If you want access to your bike stay away from these incompetents.

### 1/5 — App doesn’t work

*2026-06-11, version 0.22.1*

The app works perfectly fine up until I want to rent a locker where it just says the lockers are loading even though all lockers are available. I don’t know if this is a me problem or an app problem but it’s genuinely leaves the app unusable.

### 1/5 — Crashes on every launch

*2026-06-09, version 0.22.1*

Crashing

### 1/5 — Awful

*2026-06-02, version 0.22.1*

Can’t even get through a sign up flow. So frustrating

### 1/5 — Terrible design

*2026-05-25, version 0.22.1*

1. Login and add payment cost a century of effort; 2. One box per app at same time; 3. Box is deep, no light, easy to close and no human detection. Easy to get locked during operation. Won’t use again

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2026-05-14, version 0.22.0*

This app crashes and closes a second after opening. Fix it!!!

### 1/5 — app setup too painful

*2026-04-28, version 0.22.0*

the app setup steps are so buggy (got stuck in a text message verification loop) and poorly integrated with iOS (no Hide My Email built in, no autofill for payment details) that I don’t think I trust locking my bike up with this company. Horror stories in the reviews seem to confirm that.

I’d rather pay each time than have to load value into my account, because I worry about being able to get unused funds back. It’s also super unclear why the boxes where I commute have Clipper payments but it doesn’t work.

Maybe I’ll try one day when I have several extra minutes to try to set up my account and fiddle with payment setup - which is unlikely.

### 1/5 — Bug

*2026-04-03, version 0.22.0*

I have auto-reload enabled. Lately before I start my rental it says “you don’t have enough funds, please manually add money” which defeats the WHOLE PURPOSE of AUTO-reload. I missed a train because I couldn’t figure it out, and it turns out I had to disable auto-reload, add money, and then turn auto-reload back on.

Called customer service to ask if this was a known issue and they told me to push the button on my locker which made me feel like they had no idea what my issue was? How will this fix auto-reload with my credit card on the app? Thanks for listening.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — App works great

*2026-06-11, version 0.22.1*

The mobile app is very reliable. I like that you can scan from the camera the QR code on the door where your bike is and the app automatically end the rental. The “Navigate” button on the app only works if you have Apple Maps. It should work with the user’s default map setting/app (Google Maps etc). I do recommend this service and hope it expands to schools and parks

### 5/5 — Locker

*2026-05-30, version 0.22.1*

Yes

### 5/5 — works as intended!

*2026-05-24, version 0.22.1*

only feedback is to implement apple pay please!

### 5/5 — Works well!

*2025-09-05, version 0.20.1*

I use BikeLink lockers at my local BART station about 3 days a week, I’ve done this for the past 3 years and it’s a great service. I started off with the card but ended up switching to using the app after I lost my card. It’s always worked well! Great service for bike riders.

### 5/5 — App updates!!

*2025-08-26, version 0.20.1*

The app has been updated to save the last timestamp inputted, which is huge! I used to panickedly add time, as i biked up!

### 5/5 — Great Service and the App is improving!

*2025-07-25, version 0.20.0*

I love this service and use it daily.

The team has been great about responding to feedback.

One more bit of feedback: The ability to set a default duration of rental would be great! I suspect most users are commuters with fairly regular schedules, being able to set a default duration would save a few taps every day :)

### 5/5 — Easy and Awesome

*2025-07-02, version 0.19.2*

Really simple to use. Only people who would have issues with this app would be people who don’t know how to use a smartphone. It’s awesome having a place to store my bike during work. Thanks for not making this overly complicated. 👌

### 5/5 — Great service

*2025-06-30, version 0.19.2*

I registered the night before and was able to use the app right away the next day. Renting a space was quick and straightforward. I felt confident leaving my bike and won’t hesitate to take public transportation again.

The app isn’t perfect, but I think they’ve done a great job overall. Honestly, I’m surprised by the low user rating.

Give it a try—I think you’ll like the option of biking (vs. driving). (Disclaimer: I’m not affiliated with the business in any way.)

### 5/5 — Pretty much perfect!

*2024-10-07, version 0.17.0*

My only complaint is that I wish there were more BikeLink lockers popping up in my area (Santa Cruz, CA). The app works perfectly and the recent addition of group parking has been a big plus!

### 5/5 — App is working

*2023-10-10, version 0.12.1*

The App has no issue and its working. its a situation beyond my control and even the Bikelink. I have been using Bikelink for over 10 years and i still believe my bike will always be secured and safe.
