Though I have some recommendations *2026-06-03, version 4.0.3* Love this so much. It’s so helpful. Recommendations: 1. I would love for a landscape mode to appear. I use the app in my iPad, and there is only portrait, making the display small. 2. A smart thing would be to add a logging system, logging your prayers with reminders during the day to log the prayers off. I find this really useful because then I can use just the Bilal app instead of using an additional app for logging. 3. I would be amazing if you guys could make widgets for my Home Screen, that would be awesome too. I hope there’s a fix soon because I do really like the speaker. Also, I hope they add an option to have Quran playing on it as well soon. ### 3/5 — App Crashing *2026-03-14, version 1.0.3* I love the speaker but the app crashes so often it makes it frustrating to use. Also, for the amount of money the speakers costs, there should be more customizations!!! One big one for me would be adjusting volumes based on prayer. That way I could make fajr much quieter. I have a little baby and he gets scared and wakes up crying to the fake Athan sound so I’d like it just enough so that I can hear it but not too loud. I love the adhakar options but I would love to have surahs as well so for example I can listen to Kahf on Fridays. It works exactly as advertised it reminds me of the azan times and the color changes are beautiful. However, I’ve been having trouble with the Bilal Companion app. It keeps crashing, and even after deleting and reinstalling it multiple times to reconnect my speaker (since we moved), I still can’t get the app to open at all. I really hope this issue can be fixed soon. If the internet is turned off, the device will not give anymore, and many times if internet is turned off repeatedly, the device will fail to connect and require a factory reset. I strongly suggest making the device setup be through internet, but afterwards be completely independent of wifi. Wifi should only be used to edit the configuration settings. This will make it more reliable. I had purchased Bilal because I was feeling homesick, the athan in the air was missing in my own home out in the west- Bilal solves that issue. Gets me up for fajr and keeps me on track with salah especially with the visual feedback of the lights. Overall plan on purchasing more to gift to friends & loved ones in the near future. I do have some feedback in regards to Bilal on the device itself. I do wish the lights would dim for night time as the green light is quite bright and shines pretty bright in the dark. Not a problem in the day, but night makes it blinding. Other than that 11/10 purchase! (-1 for the green lights). Keep up the good work. ### 5/5 — Great device. Needs customization. *2025-10-14, version 1.0.3* Firmware updates made logins much better but I hope this app allows for many more customizations asap. First priority: turning off the lights during night. I want this in my bedroom but the green light is always on and I wish I can set a schedule to turned it on when it’s Fajr. Second: some sort of widget on my Home Screen to turn the adhan on or off or delay it (if you have guests over temporarily or are in a call and know it will disrupt someone sleeping). Third: and I know this is a stretch but an integration with Siri Shortcuts would go a long way (being able to link muting my speakers when I go to do not disturb mode) Sorry for the many feature recommendations, I still love my speakers as they are much more reliable than my old home assistant set up and the green yellow and red lights give me real visible reminders for prayer times. ### 5/5 — Love it! *2025-08-28, version 1.0.2* I’ve had the masjidal display for athan in the past and while I like a display screen, I looove how easy to setup and manage the bilal speaker is! Much more affordable also. It’s been so nice to choose different reciters. My only feedback is to add more, like morning/evening adhkar that can be automated at specific times. Also, Surah Kahf on Fridays or choosing Baqarah to play weekly would be nice. Overall it’s an amazing product and managing the app has been straightforward.
