The waiting system is good, but the time fluctuations for the waiting can make you lose interest in stories or even forget about them, it varies from 60seconds-24hrs. And that’s just for one chapter. And then if you buy coins you can run out fast as some stories are a few coins per chapter, and others are up to 80 coins per chapter. Which is crazy considering how many coins you get for the dollar amounts they cost to purchase! Overall, i use this to find stories, see if I’m interested, and then find them on other platforms, otherwise i just let them go if i can’t. Good concept, but with the way tappytoon, tapas, snd lezhin are set up, and the way folks scanlate stories online, they’re way too overpriced for how little they offer, especially when you can just buy the stories once completed (and a lot of them are completed) for cheaper than what the chapters on here cost. ### 4/5 — Screen view to narrow *2023-01-29, version 2.16.0* I love this app, the reason why I am giving 4 stars instead of 5, is because, no matter where I read mangas when using the app, whether is on the iPad or Chromebook, the screen is too small, and zooming won’t help because it gets the picture out of range. Is there a solution to this?. Reading the mangas on the website is no use, it only allows few episodes and the rest have to read them on the app, which is fine if the resolution was to full screen. Also, when will Heaven’s Officials Blessing will resume? This is the international app and we do not speak Mandarin so we are missing a great story. As I mentioned before, willing to pay for it and of course, improve the app.? Thank you ### 4/5 — Pretty good app but wait times *2023-01-18, version 2.16.0* so i’ve been reading on this app for quite a while. what you’ll see is it will let you read a book to a certain number of chapters. it will stop you and have you wait like eight hours to read the next chapter and sometimes you even have to wait 24 hours until you get to read the next chapter. other than waiting for the comic. So yeah it’s actually a really good app to get ### 3/5 — It’s alright if it weren’t for what I experienced. *2022-11-26, version 2.15.0* I just downloaded the app today. It was very good until it reached the point where I have to either wait or buy coins. Not that I’m against supporting the app and the authors buy paying but what was supposed to $0.99 plus tax, went through my card as about $22. Of course it may just be a different purchase of mine that went through late, but because it is just named as an Apple app payment I have no clue as to what it actually is. I’ll change my rating if I find that I was wrong of course. But it’s late at night right now and I’m frustrated with the sudden payment that I have no recollection of and this is the only payment I’ve made so far for an app in the past few weeks. Again, I will apologize if I’m wrong. I really am hoping that I’m wrong because this is a really great app from what I can see so far, but if it turns out that I’m right, I hope people will be able to see this and learn from my mistakes. (Though I’m probably the only one) ### 3/5 — Paywall messed everything up *2022-11-12, version 2.15.0* Ok I had the app when everything was either you wait a certain amount of time or you can pay. The times being 1 minute then 6 then one hour then 6 hours and finally 12 hours being the longest countdown. However now the countdown is 1 minute 1 hour 6 hours hours 18 hours and finally 24. Im sorry but the absolute difference in time? And now there are some comics where you HAVE to pay. And it doesn’t even tell you that when you first start reading so you can get totally invested in a comic and suddenly your on chapter 54 and now it’s paid to read. I try my best to read comics on their original websites to support the creator but sometimes I have no choice but to use other websites just because of the pay wall. Also before when you first opened up the chapter the countdown started but now you have to read through the whole chapter just for the countdown to activate. This means even if you read the whole chapter if you didn’t scroll down far enough the countdown wouldn’t have started and you wouldn’t get your free episode. These updates keep making the app worse instead of improving it ### 3/5 — love/hate relationship. *2022-10-27, version 2.14.0* so i really do like the platform layout, it’s pretty easy to find things and understand how everything works. having to wait up to 24 hours to read a chapter is also kinda annoying but it’s fine since most apps are like that these days. i think my biggest complaint is the fact the avatar cards expire after 30 days. it would be nice if you actually got to keep and collect them, or maybe even make them more ‘limited addition’ and having people be able to add eachother and trade cards. i like that you get a sort of reward after each chapter honestly it’s really fun, but when i realize you only have them for limited time it kinda made me not wanna use the app all together. i hope they make it so you can actually keep them permanently. :(also it would be nice if you can save different outfits. you can only piece together one outfit at a time, i think there should be a feature where you can save multiples. otherwise you just have to re-apply all the items over and over again. i hope someone takes my thoughts into consideration! lots of people on reddit complain about this so i’m just spreading the word and also agreeing entirely that some changes with the avatar stuff need to happen!!! also making the shoes separately too. that bugs me a little bit 😭😂🥺 ### 3/5 — Was amazing before the coin system *2022-10-23, version 2.14.0* It used to be completely free with wait times for some stories. However, now a lot of stories you must buy coins for because there aren’t wait times anymore. Very disappointing especially since now I won’t be able to finish many of my favorite comics. Even if the wait times for chapters were a bit annoying, that is 10x better then not being able to read them at all. Hopefully a compromise can happen in the future or I’ll probably just delete the app. ### 2/5 — Bring back the timer *2022-09-28, version 2.14.0* I’ve had this app for give or take a full year. At first it was great, good stories for free and a lot to read then They implemented the timer. The timer would only allow you to read a chapter before having to wait to read the next chapter unless you wanted to pay, then they changed it to the timer only started when the new chapter came out (if you are all caught up)which was fine. Then they started charging to read chapters of certain comics which at this point I was 200+ chapters into, if the timer was still implemented on these chapters I wouldn’t have a problem but they have completely gotten rid of it and a forcing pay ### 3/5 — Great until you hit a paywall and can’t read anymore *2022-09-20, version 2.13.0* I initially downloaded Bilibili to read the Heaven Official’s Blessing manhua but but started reading two other comics as well. I was okay with waiting for chapters to unlock so long as I didn’t have to pay for every chapter. Suddenly, at the same time, the two new comics decided to lock behind a paywall. I now have to pay for every single chapter onward, I am no longer being offered wait times. What’s upsetting is that I’m around 40 chapters in to each comic and am invested in these stories. This feels very underhanded, especially since Bilibili claims you can read their comics for free. Again to reiterate, I am no longer being offered wait times for these comics, the only way to progress is to pay money. I’m not sure if this is a bug and there should still be wait times or if this intentional. The comics in question are Demon Apartment which locked completely on Chapter 43 and Paper Airplane which locked on chapter 38. I really like these stories but I do not feel comfortable paying for every single chapter. ### 3/5 — Good App not Great *2022-09-20, version 2.13.0* I like how you can dress your avatars and I like the stories, but there are some issues that I came across. The settings doesn’t work properly, it freezes and I have to exit and re-enter the app. The timer is added on chapters that is already been read, instead of starting on a new chapters. This happens frequently on comics that didn’t start with a timer then later on have a timer. Extra chapters should not have timers because most of them are very short and it doesn’t add to the plot. Some of the newer comics have images that are out of order or they repeat images in a chapter. Some of the English translated comic have Chinese text that is not translated. ### 4/5 — I love this app, but the timed books… *2022-08-05, version 2.11.0* Personally, I’ve been looking for an app with the raw story and illustrations for Heaven official’s blessing, and this app provided! I love the many different genres and books, the fact you don’t have to go out and click on the next chapter, and even your own avatar! But uh, I don’t like to have to wait 5 hours just to read the next chapter that’s been posted a while ago. I rarely use the coins so I can continue read Heaven official’s blessing, and I understand that’s how they make money and the app makes money, but maybe you guys could shorten the time by a little? Besides that, I’m super happy with the app and I love my little avatar. (P.S. This is definitely the best novel app I’ve had :3 ) ### 2/5 — Just another paywall comic system now *2022-08-03, version 2.11.0* I’ve used Webtoon long before I found this app and I’ve used this app before the whole update and honestly I got this app because it didn’t have paywall blocks on the chapters then suddenly you decide to add that as an update? You guys are disgusting, I thought WEBTOON was annoying about it but you guys are just following a $$ trail and it’s sad, these are good comics and it’s a shame you decided to fall in line like the rest of the sheep. Could’ve been a better WEBTOON but you just fell off like a sad joke. Deleted and not using again because of that, can’t even enjoy a simple comic without having to pay to skip. Absolutely pathetic. ### 2/5 — Okay, so the new update *2022-08-01, version 2.11.0* Honestly it really upsets me to not be able to choose to wait for like, 400+ comics because they’re going to become paid after a while. Whats especially annoying is that the amount coins you have to spend on one chapter keeps on fluctuating, and the fact that you can’t exactly earn coins. I would watch ads, share, and play mini games if I have to, but its just sad that I don’t exactly have that choice any longer. I do understand that its due to copyright regulations and the creators’ / translators’ contracts have requested to be paid more, but I don’t think I’ll be able to pay for all 67 of the comics that are scheduled to be paid on the app. Sorry, I really did like this app, its so much better than all the others, but not everyone can afford to pay that much for reading comics per week. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — It is so bad I wanna give a it a zero, but that’s not possible, so I give it a one *2022-10-26, version 2.14.0* At first it was great; interesting comics and it free comic as long as you waited but as time when on the comics that you could wait for we’re now costing coins. I mean I wouldn’t have been mad about it If they had just told me that at a center point it would cost coins but no they let you get into it then start charging you. ALSO idk if it was just my phone but the picture would come out blurry or the word were either too zoom in or zoom out making it difficult to read/see what’s going on. So overall I give it a 0️⃣ not a 1 a 0️⃣ ### 1/5 — No point in downloading this anymore *2022-10-10, version 2.14.0* I’ve loved this app, the fact that I could read all the comics I love for free or with a wait timer to access the episodes, but now they’ve added a paywall to almost every comic I read. There’s no point in even reading the new releases because they end up being pay only. This goes against everything and the reason I downloaded this app. Literally ALL of my favorite comics are now pay to read. And while I would love to read them I’m broke and can’t afford to. Before there was already the option to pay AND a wait timer for those who can’t afford it but now it’s just not possible. Definitely not worth getting if you’re broke like me. Bilibili I think this was the worst thing you could’ve done for this all. However, the app has been making a majority of their “free comics” locked behind a paywall. I really didn’t mind having to wait for hours to read an already-released chapter of a series, but a mandatory payment in unacceptable. A lot of people are unable to enjoy comics now since they have to pay but are unable to do so. This goes against what this app promises: having free comics to read. I’ve had this app for awhile, as they’ve adjusted waiting times and gotten rid of other comics, but this is the last straw. Please, don’t support purchasing episodes. ### 1/5 — Disappointed *2022-10-01, version 2.14.0* When I first got this app I was so happy I didn’t need to pay money to read, there wasn’t any blocked chapters, just had to wait a certain amount of time until I could read the next chapter. And now suddenly almost all the comics I had been reading, I can’t read anymore because in order to read the next one I need to buy with the apps coins. The problem is you don’t earn the coins through reading or prize boxes you have to buy them with actual money first and I can’t afford to buy thousands of coins just so I can read. If this can’t get fixed back to just the timer than sadly I’m going to have to delete this app. :( ### 1/5 — Nothing left to read *2022-10-01, version 2.14.0* Every comic I used to read I now have to pay to read each chapter. Which, okay, the author and translators need to be paid. I understand that. But, the prices per chapter are too high to allow the app users to read all the comics they loved. Buying books from a store would be cheaper, especially when most comics have such short chapters. I used to love this app because it was such a great place to find so many good comics, but now there are so few comics that you don’t have to pay for each chapter. If they really needed that revenue they should’ve added advertisements, which would allow users to still read all of their favorite comics. Additionally, there was already a wait time for each chapter where you could pay to unlock the chapter early, so this new attempt to get more money out of the app users seems ridiculous. ### 1/5 — Honest Review *2022-06-03, version 2.8.0* This app is a great app. BUT, the fact that I have to wait 24hours just to read a 10-20 page chapter is very invigorating. Why would anyone spend money to skip a wait time to read a chapter that is already out. I understand the creators want $ but all they’re gonna do is make avid readers not use their app again. There’s other ways to make money. EX: A membership that allows you to read chapters before they come out. Other than the terrible wait times this app is good. I’m already looking into other manga apps because I can’t stand waiting so long for 1 chapter. NO READER wants to wait to read a chapter when they dove deep into a story. If you see this review do not get this app. Just a heads up. ### 2/5 — It’s ok. *2023-01-07, version 2.16.0* I’ve been using the app for a while and I’ve noticed that almost ALL of the stories are one genre; romance. I don’t have a problem with romance comics but when the only thing on the app is romance it’s a bit frustrating. I hate that I have to wait so long just to read another chapter. A whole day?! WHAT!?! Most of the stories here are bland and you have to look very hard to find a good comic! Half of the time the biggest thing about the anime is just that they have hot girls. That’s literally it. I have only been able to find 6 comics that I like. Out of all those comics you have 6. Disappointing! ### 2/5 — Great App, but I’m poor *2022-10-10, version 2.14.0* I love this app! I love the exclusive comics, I love reading Heaven Official’s Blessing, I love the variety of genres. But, I started to become a little confused when wait times were added. They weren’t horrible, but just annoying. And now, I can’t even read some of my favorite comics due to the new purchasing system. I’m not finically well off so I can’t buy coins to continue reading some comics, which can be annoying when I’m 48 episodes into a comic and can’t continue reading. I love the stories and the wait times were alright, but this new pay to read system infuriates me and make me feel like I’m poor. ### 2/5 — Paywalled *2022-10-03, version 2.14.0* Used to not be paywalled and you just had to wait a set amount of time for the next episode to unlock. Which you could pay to skip the wait. But now they’ve started paywalling a majority of the comics. There’s no way to filter which ones are and aren’t paywalled. So you could be reading one and start with timers and then just get cut off. No way to earn coins through watching ads or anything either. Paying for access for episodes for like a couple of titles may be economically feasible, but it adds up quickly. Especially when the episodes are generally pretty short and may update more than once a week. ### 2/5 — I really enjoy Bilibili, but… *2022-10-01, version 2.14.0* I have used this app for quite some time, and I have seen many updates. This app had amazing stories, and I really enjoy reading them because they were free. The first change that annoyed me was the wait time polices changing. It would no longer count the time you waited for another episode to drop on the wait time. I, for one, did not mind this. The stories were still free, and it was only, at most, a days wait. Then, the wait times increased. I, again, did not care. The stories I was invested in were still free. Now, however, my favourite comics have been closed off with this final update. I have you know that I, and many more of my fellow comic enjoyers, will be leaving this platform. You have made a mistake in your community, we will not pay for something we can get on other websites. We were using Bilibili to protect ourselves from viruses, and to learn about more reads. You will lose a large percentage of people from this one mistake. You can either revoke this, and gain your people back, or, plummet and become nothing but a fraction of a memory. I am not rich, nor do I have the time to spend my minimal wage on your app. I am disappointed with your actions. Please correct this, your future depends on it. :) ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — i love this app and the fact that its leaving breaks my heart *2024-01-29* ive been an avid bilibili user for 2-3 years now and i have to say i love everything about the app. though i'll have to admit ive been using it a little less frequently since the wait times for comics were added, i completely understand why they were added and i am still a devotee and i absolutely adore this app and the comics on it. the stories i read and the experiences i had in the comments section of many amazing comics is unforgettable. i enjoyed my time on this app so so much. i have found so many of my comfort characters and countless beautiful works on this app, and i would be refreshing my page over and over again when new chapters were meant to be released to read them right when they first dropped. those times were some of my happiest. this app literally impacted my life. it did so much good to me and for me. i adore it whole-heartedly and beyond comprehension. it is so so devastating that its going to be shutting down soon- it puts a void in me. it makes me unimaginably hurt and sad. i am going to be missing this app and all the beautiful times it gave me. thank you for existing me and comforting me beyond measure. i love you bilibili comics!! i will forever remember you and the experiences you gave me. thank you for everything. xx ### 5/5 — Perfect Except for One Thing! *2023-06-06* I got this app to read “Heaven’s Official Blessing” at first but now have a growing list of series to read. The wait times for series makes sense to me and is fair, and being able to decorate your avatar is genius! It brings you back to keep reading! My only issue is the 30 day trial when you get those items. I had the idea that when you get the clothing items that you’ll have them in your inventory forever and there would be different seasonal events (somewhat like a gacha game except with avatar clothing and reading). However, you only get those clothes for a certain amount of time (around 29-30 days usually) which is a bummer. Besides that, this app is great and I enjoy it greatly! If that 30 day trial was removed, it would be perfect! ### 5/5 — Almost, but not quite, great. *2022-12-11, version 2.15.0* My only wish is that the App would stay in landscape mode. If I select to get access by selecting twitter, most of the time it switches to portrait mode, and the little orientation icon disappears. It stays that way until the app is closed for a few minutes. It sometimes happens when choosing Facebook as well. I tend to operate my Ipad in landscape. When the app does this, it squishes the portrait mode into taking up the middle of the screen, too. ### 5/5 — I love Bilibili! *2022-12-06, version 2.15.0* Bilibili is a great app, I’ve discovered so many more mangas to read! And I’m absolutely loving all of them. This review as going to be short as I don’t know how to make it ridiculously long like others. I think Bilibili is great to find more mangas to read, I recommend it. (Although Bilibili is sucking my money up like a black hole) The waiting time tear 1 for some are so long 😭 Sometimes it’s 1 minute, I’m thankful for that but sometimes for tear 1 it’s 6 hours.. A really good place to read stories~ *2022-11-17, version 2.15.0* Okay, so I was sad at first that most of the stories I was reading changed from a waiting timer system to payment system to be able to read. However, Bilibili was able to change all or most stories back to the waiting timer to be able to continue reading for free! It was a change that is just highly appreciated as it allows more people to continue reading without needing to pay money in exchange of coins. I am just so happy I’ll get to continue reading my favorite stories after all without having to buy coins constantly. Thank you!! <3 ### 5/5 — Trashy asian comics AND dress up?! *2022-10-13, version 2.14.0* I think I may have found my favorite comic app. I love the ability to dress up an avatar, though I wish there was a way to only get clothing of your preferred gender. At least you can fuse or dismantle unwanted stuff. I don’t mind having to wait to read the next chapter if it means I don’t have to pay- Though I’ve run into comics that required you pay with coins and didn’t have any timers. That’s why I gave it a 4 star, I love it, but it has its little issues ### 5/5 — My fav! *2022-09-22, version 2.13.0* I hate the App Store, I’ve been trying to write a review for ages but literally everything goes wrong 🫠. Anygays, this app is so good and by far my favorite comic app. Great set up; pretty and easy to use! Literally the only thing I don’t like about the app is the guy avatar 😭. He’s so awkward and pretty much doesn’t look good in anything. I’m not really a fan of really gendered things (you can’t put “girl” clothes on the guy and vise versa) but I can understand as the builds are so different. I don’t really care as I’m here for the comics, and that’s perfect! Oh and some of the bl comics have been having uncensored kisses recently!!! I was so happy! Idk about gl since I haven’t gotten to any kisses in the comics I’m reading yet. But it was such a bummer to see uncensored kisses in straight romances but not in queer romance comics. It gets really frustrating but I doubt you guys did it for no reason. There has to be some reasoning I just want to know why, and what if we don’t have any money to spend on coins. I know the coins are cheap (some of them) but still if I don’t have money to spend I’ll have to wait hours before reading again and I very much dislike that. But you guys have your reasons.
