## What is BillWitness?

A long-term place for every hospital and outpatient charge you may have to prove later.

A $4,500 emergency-room estimate becomes a $28,000 hospital bill three weeks after discharge. An out-of-network anesthesiologist independently bills $3,200 from a surgery the patient was told was in-network. The same lab panel appears on three statements. CPT 99284 is upcoded to 99285, a $400 swing the patient never sees.

BillWitness is built for the 145 million Americans who receive medical bills every year: high-deductible plan members, chronic-illness households, families digging out from a hospitalization, and patients navigating the No Surprises Act. They all need the same thing: a structured, on-device place to put every line that crosses the kitchen table, and a way to reach for it years from now.

How BillWitness handles a bill

Every charge anchors to a provider, identified by NPI, and tracks across years. Hospitals, physician groups, anesthesia, pathology, radiology, ER physicians, specialists, each becomes a row in the long-term audit.

Each itemized line (CPT or HCPCS code, quantity, modifiers, charge) is logged and screened against eight common error patterns: duplicate, upcoding, unbundling, phantom, wrong CPT, quantity error, wrong provider, wrong insurance.

Bill, EOB, and patient-payment reconcile three ways. Six discrepancy categories are flagged automatically.

Surprise-bill protections under the No Surprises Act are tracked via an IDR module with a 120-day countdown and the open-negotiation clock.

Where your records live

Open the app and start. No account. Records live on this phone. A JSON archive can be exported to Files, email, or AirDrop whenever you want a copy elsewhere. The app does not run AI on your records, does not talk to any hospital or insurance platform, and does not send analytics anywhere.

Subscriptions auto-renew until canceled. Renewal occurs within 24 hours before each period ends unless canceled at least 24 hours prior. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation. Manage or cancel under Settings, Apple ID, Subscriptions. Refunds for the unused portion of an active period are not offered.
