Tried on mobile data and at home on the wifi with no luck. I was a user for a long time. Due to private reasons I had to stop the subscription but when I started it up again, they were ok to take my money but IMPOSSIBLE to contact to ask why I cannot update the maps. You have to “login” but the message say that “you don’t have permission to log in” and the only way to get help is to “login” which I can’t because I don’t have permission. Who’s brain-fart of an idea is that? I can’t even ask to get my money back. So effectively all communication with them is blocked. Absolutely fantastic idea-NOT. Apparently it is FOR SALE. Now it won’t let me log in due to an “internet” error. What’s frustrating is that when the app first stopped working, I had just purchased six months of premium. The hema map downloaded really easily. The one thing I’d love is to have support for apple car play so I can use it more easily while driving - even if you can’t interact with the app just having it displaying there would be fab. I haven’t found a 4wd app that can do it yet so it would be amazing! ### 5/5 — Excellent Maps and tracking *2023-07-24, version 1.6.27* Billy Goat is an excellent way to plan and track your tours off-road. A recent Victorian High Country Tour was a great place to test it and it worked flawlessly, offline and with no glitches or hesitation. It was easy to mark tracks, places of interest and place pins with my own labels to help with navigation. Some of my crew were using Hema maps but we found that this was similarly accurate and I often found myself in the lead navigating the group through the wilderness. The ability to also record your route for future review is fantastic! Well done Billy Goat! Much cheaper subscription than other mapping software as well. Highly recommended. ### 5/5 — Rebranded Mud Map *2023-01-12, version 1.16.20* It looks like this is mud map rebranded. I have had Mud Map since they were first released and purchased every update but now it seems Mud Map has been backbenched as it’s suffering glitches and there doesn’t seem to be any updates for a long time. So is this what is expected make mud maps unusable so Mud Map users are forced to pay a subscription??? If you’re looking for an Offroad map app, then this would be by far the best, when Mud Maps was at its peak nothing compared and it looks like all the updates and tech have gone into this rebranded BillyGoat app. So this will be your best option, I’m just not a fan of subscriptions. Forget Hema and all the others, you will be disappointed. My Gripe is that it appears the developer has turned its back on Mud Maps as it isn’t a subscription based app whereas BillyGoat is on a subscription bases. Let’s see what response we get from developer? ### 5/5 — Outstanding app for 4WD! *2023-01-03, version 1.16.20* After using a number of alternatives, all of them Lacked one or two must have features. BillyGoat was recommended to me by a fellow 4WD club member. Having used it for 6 trips over the past two months, I’ve come to the conclusion that this is the pick of the bunch. Its maps and campsite libraries are hugely detailed. The app is very easy to use and includes all essential features.
