## What is BIM DPF GUARD?

BIM DPF GUARD monitors your BMW diesel's particulate filter (DPF) regeneration in real time — right from your phone, in the background, without ever touching your car's settings.

HOW IT WORKS
Connect a Bluetooth OBD-II adapter to your car's diagnostic port, pair it once in the app, and BIM DPF GUARD takes it from there. Every time you get in the car, it reconnects automatically — no need to open the app.

REAL-TIME REGENERATION ALERTS
Get a clear voice announcement the moment DPF regeneration starts, and another when it finishes — even with the app closed, even over your music or car radio. No more wondering whether a regeneration completed, or cutting a drive short right when your filter needed those extra minutes.

TRACK YOUR DPF'S HEALTH
Watch soot mass build up in real time, see your regeneration history, average interval between regenerations, distance since the last one, and an estimated distance to the next.

WORKS WITH YOUR CAR, NOT AGAINST IT
BIM DPF GUARD only ever reads data from your vehicle — it never sends any command, write, or control instruction. It cannot trigger a regeneration or change any setting. The app is also designed from the ground up to avoid triggering your car's anti-theft alarm, using the car's own Bluetooth connection as a signal to know exactly when it's safe to reconnect.

WHAT YOU NEED
• A genuine ELM327-based Bluetooth OBD-II adapter (Carista and Vgate vLinker are confirmed to work well) — sold separately, not included
• A supported BMW diesel: F/G-series models on the B47/B47D engine family

SUBSCRIPTION
BIM DPF GUARD is available as an annual subscription (€9.99/year), shareable with up to 6 family members via Family Sharing. Manage or cancel anytime from your iPhone's Settings.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.4 — 2026-10-15

Bug fix: resolved an issue where the "Pair dongle" option could be missing from the Home screen on some new installs, preventing setup. If you ran into this, you're all set now — just reopen the app.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-10-11

Smarter regeneration alerts: a new mid-cycle reminder lets you know a regeneration is still running even if you missed the start alert, and alerts are no longer lost if they would have arrived during a phone call — they're now delivered right after you hang up.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-10-09

BIM DPF GUARD is now fully available in Bulgarian, German, Spanish, French, Romanian, and Russian — not just the spoken alerts, the whole app.

Also in this update:
- Clearer, simpler screen for connecting and pairing your OBD-II dongle, with a new option to forget a paired device
- More reliable automatic reconnection after you leave the car

### 1.0.1 — 2026-10-01

You can now try BIM DPF GUARD free for 14 days before subscribing — plenty of time to pair it with your OBD-II adapter and hear real DPF regeneration alerts live, right in the car.

Also includes small reliability improvements to the subscription screen.

### 1.0 — 2026-10-01

No release notes.
