### 2/5 — Cannot hide time and battery bar on iPad

*2026-08-18, version 6.1.0*

When using my iPad it’s hard to hide the time date and battery bar at the top of the screen. Other apps don’t show the bar when you are watching in full screen. When you do manage to get it to disappear the moment you push pause or the skip button it comes back. Very frustrating.

### 2/5 — App is atrocious

*2026-08-11, version 6.0.5*

Binge has some good content. If you’re here solely for that, sign up. It’s competitive with its rivals and has decent shows, some not found elsewhere.

The app is where it falls down. On the iPhone, on Apple TV and especially ESPECIALLY Android/Google TV. On my Google TV (and I understand I’m leaving a comment on the App Store, but it’s 2026 and we use multiple devices for the same content now) I can barely get through two episodes in a row without it crashing. On occasion it takes minutes (plural) to load, then when I finally navigate to what I want to watch, I get an error.

Weirdly, some seasons of tv shows run in the reverse order. I was watching two seasons of law and order, one ran episode 1 to 24, then the next season automatically played 24 to 1.

It’s objectively terrible.

### 2/5 — Expensive.

*2026-08-04, version 6.0.5*

Fine, it’s a streaming service that charges like wounded bull and makes very difficult to cancel.

### 1/5 — Most Unfunctional App Ever

*2026-08-03, version 6.0.5*

The binge app is the worst app. It is not user friendly at all.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2026-08-03, version 6.0.5*

They fix one issue but create seven more, can believe I’m stuck with a 12 month subscription to something that isn’t usable

### 1/5 — Binge Scam

*2026-07-29, version 6.0.5*

Once you have subscribed, you will not be able to unsubscribe.

### 1/5 — Terrible experience and buggy as all hell

*2026-07-28, version 6.0.5*

The Binge app used to be ok. OK enough that I didn’t feel compelled to leave a review. But then they changed it, maybe 6 months ago, and it has gone BAD. Doesn’t sync well with Apple TV anymore. Opens streaming in a small YouTube-like screen and you have to make it bigger yourself. Sometimes it just plays an additional version the soundtrack of what I’m watching but with a 2 second delay. I can’t find anything, easily, new episodes don’t show up, the continue watching sections keeps things in there I’ve already watched. It’s just a pile of poo. Do better, I pay money for your software so you have no excuse.

### 1/5 — Binge for iPad

*2026-07-25, version 6.0.5*

Unbelievably stupid that I can’t watch binge on my iPad in landscape for some reason, no matter the setting that I put it in I am unable to watch a movie in full screen landscape. A bug that clearly needs to be fixed.

### 2/5 — Keeps crashing

*2026-07-23, version 6.0.5*

I struggle to open this app on iPhone it keeps not wanting to open! Same thing occurs with hbo. Good shows tho! And live tv option!

### 1/5 — Can’t cast!!!!!

*2026-07-18, version 6.0.5*

So stupid this app! Can’t cant anymore

### 1/5 — The second worst!

*2026-07-16, version 6.0.5*

Binge is the second worst major streaming service (apple tv 1st)

Even since Hubbl and HBO Max became a thing, binge has lost so much great content. The platform on all devices (LG smart tv, playsation, web browsers, windows app and iphone app) is clunky and not the easiest to navigate.

Make the changes people in these reviews are suggesting instead of pocketing our money for you poor service!

### 1/5 — Not great, but not surprised

*2026-07-12, version 6.0.5*

Came back to Binge to watch one particular show because it’s not available anywhere else. I was never a fan of the Apple TV Binge App, and it’s still not good, but just for different reasons. Very laggy, clumsy sideways scrolling that doesn’t happen on any other app, so it’s not my internet speed that’s the issue. I also can’t resume or restart a movie I was watching for some reason; the screen just partially refreshes and nothing happens.
Won’t be resubscribing, I think.
As a side note: you’re now CHARGING customers to watch ads, something free-to-air TV provides for free. Are you planning to put any of that double-dipping revenue into hiring some decent app developers?

### 1/5 — The worst

*2026-07-10, version 6.0.5*

Always a problem, glitchy

### 1/5 — What am I paying for?

*2026-07-08, version 6.0.5*

App freezes, closes and is generally very clunky. Does not stay cast to my TV. Impossible to get through a series.

### 1/5 — New Update

*2026-07-06, version 6.0.5*

New update has totally wrecked this streaming platform. Everyday I need to delete continue watching shows I know I have totally watched all the way through. Months and months and still not fixed.

### 2/5 — Good options , terrible App

*2026-07-03, version 6.0.5*

I’m have to continually log out of the app and go back in to watch shows, it keeps saying I’m logged on to many devices and when I look at the settings it’s only 1 device active, many times I’ve just turned it off out of frustration

### 1/5 — Audio lagging

*2026-07-03, version 6.0.5*

Contents are good searching and viewing is fine. But every 10-20 minutes the audio lags, so the speech doesn’t match the mouths. Have to stop and go to Home Screen or close the app for it to go back to normal. Very, very annoying.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Control over app

*2026-08-31, version 6.1.0*

You really don’t want customers to have any control over the app. With the most recent update last week, we can no longer use AirPods controls. I cannot pause and restart video with the buttons on AirPods and the pause when falling asleep functyno longer works. This was the one thing stopping the videos from playing all night once I fell asleep since you removed the continuous play toggle.

And before you say there isn’t anything wrong, I’ve tested other streaming apps and the functions work fine!!

### 1/5 — Unreliable App

*2026-08-30, version 6.1.0*

The Binge app is absolutely terrible. I can never play consecutive episodes without it bugging out. The playback controls never work. When are you going to fix all of these issues that everyone is complaining about?

### 1/5 — Most recent “fix” was a downgrade.

*2026-08-27, version 6.1.0*

App no longer plays with device locked (e.g. streaming/listening to news).

### 1/5 — Ads

*2026-08-27, version 6.1.0*

My unskippable ads keep being interrupted even though I pay a monthly subscription

### 1/5 — Buggiest app around

*2026-08-22, version 6.1.0*

Every time we try Binge again we remember why we quit. Can’t control from the app - can’t rewind, pause, takes an hour to sign up going around in circles. Will quit again after Colin from Accounts.

### 1/5 — So frustrating.

*2026-08-16, version 6.0.5*

Despite the great content, the app is so unreliable it’s almost unusable. You should not have to constantly delete and reinstall an app daily.

### 1/5 — App has too many bugs

*2026-08-12, version 6.0.5*

Every time I go to watch something from my phone it won’t play…… stupid

### 1/5 — Still awful, I want my money back

*2026-08-10, version 6.0.5*

Update:
Hey Binge!
Instead of asking reviewers to send screenshots and videos of your app not working, just using it yourself. You’ll see pretty quick how awful it is. I’ve cancelled my subscription, bye-eeeeeee!

### 1/5 — The app is terrible needs a lot of work

*2026-08-09, version 6.0.5*

The app has big issues connecting with Chromecast and even when it does if watching a series has troubles connecting for the next episode it keeps taking us back to the beginning then when trying to reset it tells us there is an issue and to sign out and when we do still doesn’t fix it. The app used to be fine but now is terrible.

### 1/5 — Limited to one program

*2026-08-07, version 6.0.5*

This has got to be the worst app for casting to a tv with ChromeCast. It never lets me watch more than one thing before giving me errors. Totally rubbish

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Good app, stellar content

*2023-05-08*

I recently had the pleasure of using this fantastic iPhone app, and I must say it strikes a great balance between UX and UI. The design boasts great responsiveness, allowing for seamless interaction and smooth functionality. I was particularly impressed with the trendy graphics and color palette, which contributed to an aesthetically pleasing experience.

The app's ease of use is remarkable; even as a first-time user, I found it to be very user-friendly, making it simple to navigate through various features. However, there is a slight room for improvement in the navigation department. I believe refining the menu organization and transitions could take this already stellar app to the next level.

Overall, I highly recommend giving this app a try; it offers an enjoyable experience with a modern design that is sure to please any user.

**Developer response:** Hi Budaloco, thanks so much for sharing your thoughts. We're delighted you are enjoying BINGE, let us know if you have any other feedback or suggestions.

### 4/5 — I guess we’re no longer binging?

*2026-05-04, version 6.0.5*

Why is the app disconnecting from the chrome cast or stoping the stream in between episodes?
My favourite thing about binge was that you could truly turn it on and it would automatically play just like the glory days of television (- ads)
The only disadvantage of this was if the kids were watching a movie and it would follow onto Jurassic Park, binge really wanted my 3 year old to watch Jurassic park multiple times daily..
Now we’re at the other extreme that you can’t even watch a series continuously without the disruption of having to reconnect between episodes.
Don’t get me started on the “media player” window that stays on mobile screen and disconnects your stream if closed…
Anyways I don’t know if your trying to teach people a lesson, or if it’s a bug but a lot of would be greatly appreciated if you could operate the app smoothly.

### 4/5 — In love

*2020-06-08*

Despite the very harsh and very negative reviews I have read, this app has made a very outstanding difference to its competitors! I’m in love with the easy access and many useful features such as being able to view seasons, episodes and entirely different shows all whilst still being able to view the show that is being streamed! Although many improvements can be made such as the content view, allowing us only to see the most desirable shows, it is clear that this app sets itself away from others by allowing us to view mainstream or lower levelled shows that they may not.

I’m seriously in love and really supporting this app through its stages of improvement hopefully however I still enjoy being able to figure out and utilise its many unique features!

Smaller things are quite bugging though such as an error telling me that I’m reaching maximum streaming limit when I have access to only two streams and I haven’t handed out a spare account or mentioned to anyways that I have subscribed to Binge. Pretty frustrating having to close the application to reopen it and continue streaming every 15 minutes

### 3/5 — It’s not bad

*2026-09-01, version 6.1.0*

My main issues are with firstly the continue Binging section. You’re able to remove an item from the list if you’re no longer interested. However I clicked on an AFLW live game the other day and now it keeps suggesting it to continue binging, despite having removed it via Apple TV, iPhone as well as also an iPad.
Secondly, when finishing a show or movie, if you take too long it starts playing something new that is completely different to what you were watching.

### 3/5 — Could be awesome

*2026-07-13, version 6.0.5*

We need an option to PLAY ALL. We have a Binge List. Let subscribers play all our chosen movies or TV.
YouTube lets me play my own watch list. It's free

### 3/5 — Just mid

*2026-07-04, version 6.0.5*

Binge has some good shows but the main franchises seem to have left the platform. There are also issues with its search engine…not the most intuitive. Furthermore, the app itself often plays the sound of other episodes while the show you are watching is loading, then you end up with the background noise of another episode during your current episode. The only fix to that is to switch the phone off and on again which can become tedious if you are trying to actually binge watch.

### 3/5 — App is buggy

*2026-06-14, version 6.0.5*

The price is quite steep for limited shows, but there is a great range of shows and movies. The three star review is largely for the app. It crashes frequently, with a range of error codes.

### 3/5 — Shield

*2026-06-13, version 6.0.5*

App has improved a lot. However now not opening on Nvidia Shield.

### 3/5 — I LOVE BINGE! but……

*2026-05-30, version 6.0.5*

As someone who often watches TV shows to fall asleep too, generally when my ADHD brain finally winds down, I find myself in absolute shambles the next time I visit the last show I fell asleep to due to having NO IDEA where I left off, or what episode I was actually on, because there’s currently no auto-play next episode disable option.

Please add this feature! I can’t imagine I’m the only person who falls asleep watching shows, only to come back later completely lost as to where I genuinely stopped watching.

### 3/5 — Update sucks

*2026-05-27, version 6.0.5*

This app worked well and I was happy, until the recent update (2026). Now, instead of a programme opening in full-screen, it opens in a small box. I’ve selected what I want to watch - don’t make me full-screen it and add another stop on an already fiddly screen (iPad Pro). Also, do not automatically start a completely random programme when my episode is finished - you’ll contaminate my feed and I don’t want to have to stab frantically at the screen to stop a show, when you don’t even have the name come up so I can make an informed decision. As the saying goes, if it ain’t broke…
