### 1/5 — Rubbish App!

*2024-08-11, version 2.5.7*

Excuse the pun. It’s really rubbish….
Binny couldn’t even tell me if I could recycle my ceramic oven dish, some broken wine glasses, a laundry detergent box, or an old plastic click clack lunchbox???

What’s the point of the app, if it only answers things I already know which is common sense. I didn’t get answers to anything I actually wanted to know!!!

I might as well delete the app straight away until it’s able to properly give me the info I need… or else everything will just go to landfill if I’m unsure…

### 2/5 — What about us elderly ?

*2024-02-04, version 1.8*

In all this the Council recyclers have, as usual, forgotten the elderly many living alone and, in my case, have real mobility problems. I can’t drag several bins to the kerb weekly. Nor go to “ pick up points”. Look, Just pick the rubbish up as per my rates require .Enough already.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work on iOS 17.3

*2024-01-27, version 1.7*

Doesn’t seem to work on iOS 17.3 (not sure previous versions, just downloaded the app and this is the version I’m on). Open the app and saw the Binny image, asked different questions and it never replied back, not even to say Hello or anything. Seems the app is broken. Deleting it now.

### 1/5 — Don’t bother downloading

*2024-01-20, version 1.7*

First question it couldn’t answer…. Embarrassing app considering it’s 2024

### 1/5 — Deleted it

*2024-01-17, version 1.7*

Tried all different ways to ask what plastic recycling numbers were supported, could not provide an answer other than 6 was not supported, and gave a general answers about ok to recycle the types of plastic found in most bathrooms. It should be easy to find the numbers supported and I know it’s not 1 to 5.

### 1/5 — Major bug in Binny app

*2023-09-18, version 1.7*

There’s a bug in this app that makes it almost unusable on my iPhone. After I submit a query, Binny’s reply is mostly obscured by the onscreen keyboard, which can’t be moved out of the way.

### 2/5 — Ok

*2022-10-25, version 1.7*

Get rid of the giant cartoon. Useless and takes up way too much space. I have a small iphone model and can only display 3 lines of text.

### 1/5 — No good

*2021-04-27, version 1.0*

Doesn’t even deserve one star. A lot of effort and slow to use. Auckland City Council should check out the Taranaki recycling app - its very informative and easy to use.

### 1/5 — Leave lids on beer bottles?

*2020-05-04, version 1.0*

Really. How do I get the beer out?

### 1/5 — Could easily be replaced by a leaflet

*2020-01-04, version 1.0*

Knowing which bin to put things in isn’t the main thing Aucklanders want to know.
Knowing which day bins will be collected for particular streets, taking public holidays etc into account, would be much more useful - and if it’s too hard to program that into the app, then adding a link to the appropriate Council web page would be a help.
I hope the Council didn’t spend too much money developing this sad little app – more than $100 would have been a waste. Okay, $200 including the picture of the bin.
